the poor harpy curled in on itself, gaze softening only slightly as they examined comet closely. they were breathing heavily and their feathers were soaked down to the bone, they truly just looked pathetic.

they shook their feathers off, looking up as the pup attempted to reassure them. the small bubbles, although they popped immediately, seemed to draw their attention away from the pain for a moment. their head tilted in confusion. they looked to comet again, looking to them expectantly. more bubbles? they probably wanted more bubbles.

they stood up shakily onto their feet, crouched down still but curious more than anything.

Nemo

Nemo had been fishing in Pisces- the poor bird is obsessed with catching one of those bright purple fish well enough to skin the scales off, okay?- before he'd heard the loud splash, and then the yelling... oh caves the yelling and the splashing.

He takes to wing and tries looking for what's going on, his own hatch day his oldest memory but some part of his stomach makes him feel like this is just as similar, but he can't find the noises until they start to get quieter, and then quiet... and the sound of screeching is what finally makes him wheel hard midair and answer with a shriek of his own, a bird-like game of Marco Polo, one that he hopes this unknown entity knows in their instincts, before people get hurt!

The blue lammergeier was now above the... harpy and... oh look, it's Comet again! Hello friend!

Nemo has to keep himself from diving down when he spots the pair's body language, though, and he slowly wheels down, making little clicking and clipping noises with his beak and churring as best as a giant death-muppet looking bird of prey can.

Even though she her bubble spell hadn't worked all that well, she was happy to see that it seemed to help them calm down. That was good. The harpy was soaked, and Comet knew that even though her fur was soaked too, it still kept in heat. She wanted to go curl up around them, but you had to take these steps slowly. So that meant more bubbles. As the fresh batch of bubbles drifted into the air, she heard a clicking sound.

Looking up, she spotted... Nemo! That was good, she could use some help with this harpy. "Hello Nemo! Don't worry, he's nice." Comet said to Redwood.

redwood made a nice, pigeon-like warble at the sight, interested by the funny bubbles, moving up a bit more to pop them with their claws. they got up to their feet, trying to catch them in the air, totally distracted from whatever else was happening.

they froze, looked up and around at the sudden bird call, calling out in return in curiosity. they looked up as the lammergeier swooped down to greet them, flinching back from the bubbles as nemo got closer, but clicking and cooing in response, unsure of the danger.

they looked to comet, and then back to nemo, muscles relaxing ever so slightly. they didn't look like they wanted to harm them. the wolf had tried to save them! they mulled this over in their head, silently.

absentmindedly, they look back up to the chrysalis from where they dropped, hugging their knees as they crouched down again.

Nemo

Nemo lets out a strange, rumbling churrup in response to the small acknowledgements from the harpy, and he opens his beak in his usual smile at the blue being, and he finally lands with a bouncing clack-clack on the stone, behind Comet, and he makes his way over step by step, pausing if Redwood reacts poorly to his proximity until he's able to draw even with his younger friend safely.

"You're both soaked, I'm glad you're okay!" He following the little one's gaze up to the ceiling, and has to take a second to squint and lean forward ineffectually forward towards the object of his squinting before he registers-

That's a chrysalis. On the ceiling. Over the water. They're both wet...

A soft gasp, and then he looks at the hatchling and at Comet in turn. "They fell? I thought I hatched someplace inconvenient ..."

With delight, Comet watched the harpy start popping the bubbles with their claws. They seemed to be fine with Nemo coming here too, even though he could have looked a bit threatening at first swooping in from the sky like that.

"Oh?" the pup looked up to see the chrysalis on the ceiling. She hadn't stopped to consider how the harpy had gotten into the water in the first place. "When I saw them they were drowning in the lagoon so I jumped in to help. I didn't see the chrysalis on the ceiling."

Comet stared at the harpy and wondered if they would need any help after this. A family? A friend? Or were they quite capable of living on their own? Not that she doubted their abilities, but a little help couldn't hurt. "Do you need any help?"

they shook off a majority of the water still clinging to their feathers, leaving them just horribly damp and anyone in their direct vicinity soaked. they looked between the two, relaxing. they cooed at nemo's concern, acknowledging it and appreciating it as much they could at their age.

one could find it sad, that their first words were a desperate cry for help, but they didnt seem to realize this at the moment. they didn't entirely trust these gembound, but they weren't threats, so the harpy felt safe. they allowed nemo to step closer, believing atleast for now they werent going to be killed by the other bird. their body language aired on the side of caution, but no longer fearful.

they shook their head. "nnnno. 'm good." they chirped. "wwwwater here. bad."

Nemo

Nemo throws up a wing to keep the worst of the water off of his makeup, erm, feather dye, and he flicks it off to the side with a humorous chuckle to attempt to dry his damp feathers. "I'm super proud of you, Comet, this little thing is lucky you got here so quickly- I was looking, but alas, I didn't get here quickly at all."

"Water can be good, when you approach it on your own time little one." he offers, shuffling a little so that he can demonstrate grooming a feather, and his beak almost squeegeeing off the water and leaving his feather only cool to the touch instead of damp. "Do you want me to help you fix your feathers?" Nemo offers this very gently, knowing that preening could be very personal to other Gembound, and this poor baby had gotten a rude entrance to the world.

Comet allowed the water to splatter onto her fur, which didn't change anything since she was already soaked anyway. She smiled at their answer, surviving from falling from the ceiling was no small thing, so she was sure this harpy would do very well on their own.

"It was nothing." the pup beamed at his praise. Seeing that Nemo was is control of this situation now, Comet knew that she could leave with the knowledge that the harpy would be okay. "Well, I'll leave this to you now." she nodded at the bird, and left.

"Exit Comet"

the harpy didn't respond until comet had left. they still didn't trust the wolf. its not that they feared her, but they did not want to fall into her jaws again. or anyone elses. "bye bye."

they looked to nemo, considering their options. but, reluctantly, they nodded. their feathers felt terrible and tangled. "cccareful" the little harpy hissed. words were hard, especially as their throat still burned from the water.

their fluffed out their wings a little better, just for ease of access.
