Morgan sighed and shook her head, "None at all. Which isn't good. I know we had to come from somewhere. It kind of makes me wonder if any of us had parents before..."

She shook her head and sighed, "Nevermind. I mean, I don't know how one really goes about creating a life. Something with a gemstone and magic, obviously. I know how to care for fussy children, how to calm down angry children- I've been a mother since I was born. Since you guys first hatched."

The hybrid found that the memory didn't quite ache anymore. Was that progress?

"How did you do it with your coming child?", she asked, paws crossed on top of each other.

Silently, she was glad that Pumpkin perched upon her horns. He had barely any weight, just a touch, but it felt nice all the same.

he hummed at the lack of information they both seemed to have.

"well, i used a spell, not sure what, but it was magic nonetheless. i know a gembound doesnt HAVE to die to make a child, i think its just safely taking a bit of it off? i kinda came to the conclusion after the bonebound meeting."

he hummed. "i know sora had a chunk of her stone cleaved off, though thats probably different. maybe its another spell?" he thought.

Morgan nodded. Stone themselves were ubiquitous, able to be found everywhere and anywhere if you had the know-how. She herself didn't, but she did suppose that her stone could be used to make life if another one could.

"I think she had her stone cleaved because it was annoying- she kept hitting things and hurting herself," she said, "I'm certain that's different."

Poor Sora.

"It might be another spell. Magic plus a stone equals... child?" she said, shrugging, "Maybe, I don't know."

he scratched his beak in thought.

"sounds right to me. might very well be a spell, i dont imagine one could safely carve off a part of their stone without one." he twittered, hopping in place.

"its worth it to try, isnt it?" he asked.

@Morganite

"Others have done it,", she reasoned, "Not everyone just picks up a gemstone and gives it life- there have to be couples who wished for a child to be born of them, instead. Couples, perhaps lonely gembounds wanting someone to care for. It's a wonderful thing to give life to something and create something new."

Morgan sighed, "I would love to do that. Perhaps to make a friend for the little one you have coming. I... I doubt I myself would be able to truly care for a child, not like I am. But... perhaps I could be like... an aunty? I know that a lot of gembound out here hatch without anyone to care for them. That's a normality out here. Like we did, though we had each other."

Morgan looked up at the bird perched on her antlers, ears perking up, "How did you feel when you revived your child?"

he nodded, smiling at the thought. creating life is a wonderful thing. pumpkin's just sad that their other siblings would not get to see what he leaves behind.

he thought, nodding. "of course. some gembound hatch with them but then leave them to their own devices aswell. its just a matter of preference, i suppose. i'd like to see my children atleast once." he reasoned.

he scratched his beak once more as he considered it. "scared, mostly. i didn't know if it was gonna work or how. i was excited, though. it was... nice. relieving when it ended up working, certainly. he rambled.

@Morganite

Morgan nodded slowly, "I want to do that. Make a life. Though what kind of parent would I be now? The only thing I'd do is make a child with a parent who chases after ghosts."

She sighed and looked down, ears drooping, "I don't want to do that. I want... I want a child who doesnt' hate their own mother because she's too broken for them. I want to get better."

She put her head on her paws, sighing gently.

"Can you help me, Pumpkin?", she asked, looking up.

@Pumpkin

he smiled warmly. "of course. i'd do anything. they can stay with me until they wish otherwise. with my other one. and you're free to come visit, should they still be here when you do" he chirped fondly.

he stretched out his wings, flying to the floor in front of her. waiting.

"alright. ready when you are."

Her jaw snapped shut and she looked up, eyes wide, "... Really?"

Pumpkin... understood.

"Oh Pumpkin... thank you," she said, tearing up, "Oh- um, we should put them together, right?"

She stood and wiped her nose, trotting off excitedly, "Oh gosh- tell me where, let's go!"

pumpkin gave a slight "oh right-" before nodding. "yeah! this way, cmon! theyre in eridanus, i... was nervous" she admitted.

he waited for morgan to catch up before flying off.
