Nemo

There's a second of mental and physical panic- Nemo almost stops Comet, but he knows his friend doesn't really do emotional situations well, so all he gets out is a half-consonant and opening a wing in her direction... but.

Gone.

"Bye, Comet!" he watches her go, and then turns back to the harpy and sighs lightly, making a mental note to go find his friend and... dunno, bring her a snack.

Looking the harpy up and down again, he takes a small side step towards and winces at the rasp in the child's voice. "Make sure you take it easy, yeah? You're going to be sore for a long time after this," he's speaking quietly, and calmly, like one would to a spooked horse, and he uses his wings to lift a limb, shifting his glowing bauble dizzyingly against his keel bone as he tilts his head and starts slowly using his beak to straighten and preen the feathers. He occasionally stops to check in on the child and clearly show what he's doing, and trying to figure out how to teach this one to clean their own feathers.
