V-Chaos-Two was back out in the meadow again, nose down as they meandered along, grazing gently and inspecting the area. There were berry bushes, an apple tree, grass- and plenty amounts of prey.

It was basically perfect.

They lifted their head and trotted forward towards the trees to explore over there, their ears up and only a small limp today. They weren't expecting to see anyone. A sibling? Perhaps. But not anyone else. They weren't even aware this new cave was was inhabited.

Comet had been randomly wandering through the forest and sticking her nose into everything she could find when she caught a slightly familiar scent. Her first thought was prey! But that couldn't be right, since she was pretty sure that then she would have a faint idea of whether it was a rodent, deer, or rabbit. But it was't, so that meant it was something else.

She proceeded carefully through the forest, the scent getting stronger and stronger the closer she went to the meadow. Rounding a bush, Comet spotted who it was. The very same gembound who she had met in the tunnel that connected Canis to Hydra. She didn't have any strong opinions on them, really. But she hid in a bush, seeing what they would do.

Chaos-Two rubbed their face against the grass and grumbled happily, falling onto their side and rolling around, almost purring as they played in the grass. They pushed himself up and bucked, their legs raising into the air and kicking weakly, making them stagger as they fell back down.

Once the kicks were out of their system, they stretched out their back and headed towards the woods to take inventory and to see what exactly was in there. Berries, definitely, more apple trees, maybe? Definitely lots of prey. They ought to bring back samples of each to show Vargas.

The calf wouldn't have been able to see Comet if she'd been standing still, so they walked right past her bush and into the forest, mumbling to himself about deer trails and prey dens. If they could find some, then they had evidence to bring back to Vargas of their success.

Comet watched with her nose scrunched as Chaos-Two rolled and played in the grass. The pollen that was kicked up almost made her sneeze, but she held it back in her nose so as not to give away her position. It was oddly similar to how she herself played in the grass, she hadn't seen anyone else do that before.

She held her breath as they passed by her and deeper into the forest. Of course, she followed. She tried looping around so she would always be a few steps in front of them without them noticing her. Unfortunately, a small mistep and a crack of a stick sent her falling down in front of them.

Chaos-Two didn't see Comet in time to not trip over her and tumble on top of the wolf, their six-foot tall (standing) self a lot bigger than the pup. And still they were a child. They rolled over and off of her, whipping around to face her with wide eyes.

"Oh- I'm so sorry- wait, you're not trying to kill me, are you?", they asked, backing away, his own good nature fighting the warnings of Master Vargas.

They finally just reached out and helped Comet up, rubbing their hands together, "Were you following me? That's weird, you know."

They didn't recognize Comet yet, mostly because they didn't have the nose to pick up scents like she could, and because they hadn't heard her voice yet.

Comet felt their foot catch and cause them to fall on top of her. "Omf!" The crushing weight lasted only for a second though, and she accepted their offer at help and stood back up. "Um, no." Wow, they were so paranoid! She side-eyed them. "Maybe. I could say you're weird too. You don't look like you've been here before." It was strange that they hadn't drawn the connection that they had met before. She waited for realization to pass across their face, unless they just had really bad memory or something.

Chaos-Two went to retort, but simply nodded in acceptance. They were weird. Blind, crippled, and covered in weird quills.

"You sound familiar," they said, "Have I met you before?"

Which was weird, since Chaos-Two literally hadn't interacted with anyone outside of the Chaos-Forge aside from Dhracia, that weird bear-shaped thing, and-

"Hey! You're that girl from the tunnel!", they exclaimed, "You fought my sibling. You know they were only two months old, right? Meanie, that's like fighting a kid!"

They had no idea of Comet's age, with no way to judge by sight, only sound. And being surrounded by kids and deep-voiced adults, they couldn't really say how old Comet was. They couldn't see their baby fur or how they were oddly proportioned.

So they assumed someone who picked fights was an adult, of course.

Comet did not reply to their first question, waiting patiently for them to figure it out themselves. A moment later, it clicked. But not in the way she expected. "Well um, I was only two months old too." She was surprised that the huge beast she had met was only two months old. That wasn't a lot! "But I'm three months now!" she eyed them, "How about you?"

Chaos-Two stared at Comet, frowning deeply. "... You are?"

They blinked and squinted, stepping forward to peer at Comet, almost falling forward with how far they were leaning, "... You're small. I'm three months too. My designation is V-Chaos-Two, but Chaos works fine for now."

They'd earn their name eventually.

Comet felt uncomfortable with how far they were leaning forward to look at her. But she stayed still, perhaps they were not doing it because of another reason. Earlier, they were unable to see that she was not a full grown wolf, perhaps there was something wrong with their eyes. Like partial blindness maybe.

"Oh! Same age!" They were much taller than her though, since they stood on their hind legs. "Nice to meet you Chaos." she wondered why their name was in three parts. She had never met anyone with a name like that before. "So um, why are you here? I'm here to hunt!" Comet hid the fact that she may also be here for... other things. Like poking around where she shouldn't.
