Oh she was already in love.

With tall cliffs and soft, sandy beaches, it was perfect! She rolled around in the sand, scratching her skin and ridding it of dead cells, sloughing it off and leaving her soft and smooth afterwards. She frolicked in the water and splashed in it happily, giggling in delight as she ran to and fro, her wings too waterlogged to fly.

After a while of flapping vigorously and drying herself off, she took flight and darted to one of the cliffs, poking her head in holes and climbing up their faces, before alighting on the very top of a massive pillar, the entire bay stretched out before them. This... was perfect.

"This is it," she said softly, "We just... we just need a tree!"

A willow, specifically, a drooping thing that could weather storms and support their nest. She could picture it in her head. Two little whelps running around, snuggled up between her and Electrum, tuckered out.

This was perfect.

Electrum

Electrum was next to Haven, wings distance away at almost all times as she frolics through the sand, and Electrum does the dame for a little bit, twisting his body like an excited ferret would, forelegs tucked in and twisting head first into the dry sand, itching those places that he hadn't quite managed in a while with vigor and finally popping up with a flourish and fountain of sand. Some loose scales, gently edged with gold and having remained around his ears, eyes, and the base of his horns from his growth spurts come off in clean and satisfying [i]pops/[i], their deep lapis and gold gleaming brilliance against the sand encouraging him to pick them up and perch them in a pile on a stone, only to be picked up when he leaves the area to follow Haven.

He takes a bit to bake in the sun, before looking very disgruntled and following her into the water, and sinking under and flattening his body and fins so that all that shows above the water is his upper face and his ears pricked up and facing her attentively, and his mustache tendrils and ears wiggle happily as she enjoys herself.

The beta fish dragon remains in the water as she leaves, but as soon as she takes flight he burbles unhappily and springs out of the water after her, launching himself up with wings folded tight until the last moment and beating down with a thunderous snap, and scrambling for a grip on the ledge where she'd perched.

"I-ugh, crap wait- How about we look for a cave? Or a nook? Plants die, but stone is forever-crap..." he's muttering to himself as he occasionally snags his talons funny or he looses grip with one palm or another.

Haven wiggled her way underneath Electrum and put his claws on her shoulders. She could cling to the rock better, so she could be used as a handhold.

"Yes but!! If we have a tree we can hang things from it like windchimes!", she said happily, "Then it will look pretty and I can hear it, too!"

She hummed, "A cave... under the tree! And I could put my swords in one of the roots and put all my other things in there."

She nuzzled up against Electrum and licked his cheek, butting her head against him gently, "What do you think? A nice cave for our eggs, all nice and warm... laid with moss and soft things. A den and a nest and a tree up above to perch on with the nicest view and sounds of the surf!"

Haven twined their tails together and lay herself down under him, sighing happily. It was just so... nice here. Peaceful. And it was just them, too! All by themselves.

He happily hangs on to one of Haven's shoulders, finally managing to anchor his feet and other hand well on the rocks. Electrum hums in his chest, vibrating slightly and just... happy being Haven's blanket. He's warm, it's calm here, and this is actually... very comfortable.

"Chimes? That sounds wonderful- but we need to make the chimes, too. What do you think we should make them of?" The navy dragon sounds... very content, voice low and eyes mostly closed. "We can grow the tree, though, but carving the cave will be harder. Both would be nice, but.." he shivers, his mind once again sparkling crystaline when Haven mentions eggs, and the humming in his chest ramps up to almost full fledged purring.

"We will make a home so grand that it will rival the cliffs themselves, I swear..."

I swear it.

Haven smiled happily and turned her head to nuzzle Electrum, purring too, "Oh- Electrum... you're almost like me, now, purring away."

She turned her head and nosed in the direction of the cliffs, "Over there. We can find a cave among the cliffs- I saw some on the way. As long as we can get in and out and the inside is big, it should be okay. And atop the cliff, we can grow a tree."

She did, however, blank when Electrum wanted her to suggest ideas for the chimes.

"... Um...", she said, tapping her claws, "... Crystals? And uh... I don't know."

She thought for a good minute and a half, which was a lot for a dragon who flitted from idea to idea faster than she could keep up with sometimes. But she came up with nothing, unfortunately. Just crystals.

@Electrum

The comment about his pseudo-purring gets an audible "Hrrk-!" and a pause in the humming, but it comes back, albiet a little quieter, since now he's very aware of it. His eyes follow her gesture up into the cliffs and he mutters a quiet, "I saw some shadows up there..." before nodding, and giving a very toothy grin at the mental idea of them making a nest more and more from their magic, and their collections.

Cute, he has to chuckle when Haven sits in contemplative silence, the few seconds of her thoughtful face conjureing his memories of them sleeping nearby each other, and her peaceful expressions during that time.

"Maybe shells? Or metal. Who knows, whatever sounds best right?" He disengages, and flaps a little higher up on their wall, one foot still partially curled and holding his shed scales. "Well?"

Haven giggled at his flustering and looked off to the cliffs, "Then... let's look! I want to see."

She looked back to Electrum at the idea of metal chimes, nodding enthusiastically. That was a great idea! Crystals and metal clicking and ringing together... beautiful sounds, and shiny and sparkly to Electrum.

"Once we find a cave, we'll make a nest, grow your tree somehow, and we'll collect metal and crystals," she said happily, "It will be so magical!!"

Magical... a term she used as if she were a child completely unaware it existed. But she would be right, only truly magnificent things could give off the mirage of being made of magic, despite them being completely physical.

"I like that," she said softly, and let go of the cliff, easily flipping herself around and swooping back up to circle around the pillar, "But! Let's find that cave!"

Of course they'll find the perfect place- they're them, and they're a team. If they can't find it, then they'll make it.

"I already have some ideas for the tree, so don't worry, I'll get that done!" He assures, and lets out a soft huff as he launches himself into the air to pursue Haven, playfully swinging over and tagging her with his free foot. "It'll be the most fantastic creation, but more than anything else it'll be ours." He was agreeing with her statement about magical, but his intent was something more permanent than what his fleeting experience with magic, the instantaneous presence and dispersal of lightning.

Now, lets really get looking.

Haven squawked and flipped upside-down to tag him back, diving towards the cliffs and laughing, "It will be the most fantastic nest anyone ever seen or heard of!"

She turned meters before the cliff, skimming it with her claws before flying next to it, scanning the cliffs with her echlocation.

"Find anything?", she called behind her, having an amazing time just flying around.

She herself seemed to be missing all of the caves, unable to see the shadows, her sound waves bouncing off all the wrong things.

Yes, yes it will.. He thinks smugly, and then laughing out loud when Haven tags him back and he trails after her, then weaving from cliff to cliff opposite her, searching the area bit by bit.

"I see a few divots, here and there, but I've got to check and see if any or decent," Electrum replies, his scales clinking against the stone as he occasionally alights and sticks his head into the different nooks and crannies.
