"- and then, since I wasn't paying attention, my sibling just absolutely smacked me across the head so hard I saw white sparks! Knocked me out of the air too!" Cirrus is cackling, having told the story of getting their flank kicked in the first mid-air spar with Delta, of course without using their name. But still- it was like some sort of slapstick event, from the way Cirrus had been talking about the whole event.

"But, uh... sorry for talking your ear off. I guess today is one of those days." The hybrid is a bit sheepish, rabbit-like ears pinning against their back in embarrassment, and they alight on a nearby plant, almost sighing in relief at being able to rest their wings.

James was definitely... concerned, but politely laughed anyway, not wanting to confront Cirrus in case such worry was unwelcome. He listened intently as they flew over the forest, ears perked up as he half-listened and half looked for fruit.

"My my," he laughed, "That sounded... exciting!"

He offered a smile and alighted delicately on a branch that honestly shouldn't have carried his weight, but it did, "Never apologize for being enthusiastic about something. Unless it's like... murder. But I enjoyed it, really."

James plucked off an apple from a branch, setting it in his neck-sack before starting to gather up anything else he could from the neighboring branches, taking a few nibbles too, the flight having taken quite a bit of energy.

"Ah yeah, we were a bit rough, but that's the point of sparring, right?" they attempt to reassure the much larger Gembound, winging after him from tree to tree, and not really... sure what to look for.

But- "Oh, definitely. Some things are... Not that okay to be super excited about? Although, it makes me wonder where the line is when it comes to some people I've known who like v- combat."

Cirrus found something about the side of both their paws together, so like... a small peach or something? It seems ripe, as it pops right off the branch, and so while holding on to a larger branch with their wings and hind feet, Cirrus bites in to the fruit- and hits a pit, most of the way through their bite.

There's also juice now all over their face, so they awkwardly takes their bite and chews on the firm fruit, pleased with how firm it was despite the copious sticky... stuff, everywhere. The flavor almost hurts their jaw, it's quite tart, but it's pleasing, and so they continue eating at the fruit around the pit and watching James eat and pick, wondering what the method is for choosing the food.

James picked a peach off the same tree and took a bite, setting it on the branch as he ate around the pick, his fruit more ripe and soft, just how he liked it. He continued to put fruit in his bag before gorging himself on the fruits provided, ears flicking happily.

"Well," he said, swallowing, "My line is basically... if you did it out of necessity, you can be forgiven."

His eyes grew sad and he looked down, frowning. He supposed he still wasn't over Ari. He wondered where he was.

"That's understandable. But also could be used to justify... all sort of horrible things. I guess that can only be used by kinder gembound, eh?" the final bite, some odd smacking noises cause listen, it's bitter, their face hurts okay? They use the small amount of beak, almost like a solid upper lip to be frank, to clean off the pit, and Cirrus stares at the now clean pit in their paws.

A good, hearty, awkward pause later, the small creature inhales and then asks-

"Hey. Do you like these? Maybe you could take a... whatever this inside is, and stick it in some dirt and see if you get another?" The still sticky hybrid gestures with the pit, and then at the ground.

James just... shrugged. He knew good people from bad, could tell when hearts turned sour. If they were anything like Ari and not even trying to change, then they were bad news.

"Oh, um, I don't know, I don't have much of a green thumb," he said, and picked up the pit, setting it in his bag, "But I could try, thank you."

He grabbed an apple off a tree and crunched on it, sighing.

"I think you have a good heart, Cirrus," he said softly.
