Haven flew in close and landed on the edge of the cliff, nostrils flaring. She crawled underneath Electrum (because why not) and poked her head past, sniffing and peering around. Electrum's heart beat strong in his chest, and she could sense the dimensions of the cave... and the life within.

"There's bats," she said, "I can hear them in there, they're asleep I think but their hearts are strong, so they're not hibernating. Should we chase them out or let them keep this spot?"

She sniffed at the ground. It was dry, at least, but the bat droppings were a... problem. There weren't many in this section, but she could smell them through the opening the bats crawled through, and it wasn't very pleasant. It would take work to get it clean.

Electrum isn't quite sure how Haven knows there's bats dep in the cave, but he trusts her declaration, and he pulls himself forward a tad to further settle his weight, and peer into the cave, trying to spot the creatures.

With bright scales reflecting the light inwards, and nose crinkling and lip curling in disgust at the amount of bat... waste, Electrum makes a decision. "If they live here, then this cave is comfortable. Odds are, even comfortable for us. At the least, we can check," the drake snorts again, and then leans back, looking up to the ledge roof of the cave and to the cliff above, "Especially since I like it's placement in the cliffside here, but, we can always search for another if this one is too stubbornly occupied."

Let's hope this goes well.

Well it doesn't, cause all Dice Boy has given me today is 4's and 5's and I'm a little angry, so all that happens is a light static charge rippling across the lapis dragon's scales as he finally hauls himself up, and partially into the entrance of the cave, letting out a low, threatening snarl into the depths of the echoing rock and hoping to spook whatever is in there, out where he can see it, and fight it.

Heck yeah, lets rack up the spells!

There may have been bats roosting in this cavern, but not after a pair of dragons made themselves at home. The Lessers scattered in a flurry of shrill click!ing and leathery wings. A number of them smacked into the intruders on their way out, their fitful noises growing louder on impact.

In their wake? Six sets of darling little eyes. They blinked up at the dragons, completely unfazed. The creature attached to them—an adorable lizard—made a soft chirping noise before fanning out its neck.

Its frills were charming, dazzling... mystifying. They soothed every little thought that either of them might have. There was no need to worry now that this friend was here!

Haven, being blind, was completely unfazed by the little lizard, and growled at it, "I hope you're tasty..."

She decided that today was the day she was going to try out something new. Maybe they'd get a meal out of this, if she succeeded. She felt venom drip from her fangs and hissed, showing off a mouthful of teeth and fangs that really shouldn't have fit in her face, and they didn't, because they jutted out like some kind of xenomorph.

"Hey Electrum, watch this!", she said, her voice rather distorted with her lips currently hiked back up towards her nostrils.

This lizard was screwed.

As the bats and other creatures book it out of the cave, the occasional smaller or more afraid clipping the lapis dragon on their way out, he tracks the majority on their path out of the area, and half heartedly snaps at the last few, considering a meal after this. A soft chirp draws his attention back into the cave's deapths, and he blinks a little bit at the odd little lizard.

"Huh... it's kinda cute, honestly.." he mutters, tilting his head back and forth and frilling his fins in reply to the ... disorienting? Display from the creature. If I could keep the little guy, that may be nice... he seems harmless, but... would I want something harmless nearby?

Haven's request for him to look at her doesn't even register, and he doesn't respond, which should be some sort of indicator for his mental state right now, and he's... transfixed by the little thing.

The lizard chiirirrp!'d as Haven hissed at it. Its feet pitter-pattered further into the dark, but it kept its frills flared out. Electrum wouldn't be released (from its friendship!) so easily.

In fact... he really shouldn't let that meanie hurt his new friend. It was so sweet and harmless... and, there were sure to be plenty more friends deeper in the hole! Maybe if Haven saw how safe and assured her friend was, she'd come along, too! The lizard bobbed its head, teasing Electrum deeper and deeper into the cave.

"Hey!", she said in protest, "Get back here you little-"

Haven bounded after the creature, one, two strides, then she lunged, mouth open, fangs dripping venom as she descended like a bat out of Hell. Just one little bite and it would be paralyzed, unable to move- though she didn't really know what the venom actually did. It could kill the lizard for all she knew, but that was honestly the best outcome. But for now, just one small bite would do.

If Electrum retaliated, she wouldn't see it coming, trusting her mate completely to be on her side. As of now, she was completely unaware of the lizard's effect on the blue dragon. She'd be even more pissed once she did. Electrum didn't care about how cute things were except her, and he'd killed rabbits and other 'cute' things with no problem.

Wait. Realization started to dawn. Electrum didn't ever hesitate to kill anything. What was going on?

The lapis dragon takes a step closer to the small lizard, head tilted in curiosity and snarls dying in his throat is his brain goes almost... fuzzy.

Well no, not fuzzy. Calm. Like he's meeting someone he likes as much as Haven.

Electrum is only able to break his gaze when he spots a grey blur surge towards the little lizard, and he reacts on a thought that isn't his - but he doesn't know that, he just knows that this little thing is a friend and you don't eat friends, even if you want to. Even if they're annoying, and not invited inside!

With a heave that he wasn't sure he could entirely pull off, he swings his tail - and therefore most of his torso- out in an arc, attempting to knock Haven's feet out from under her and stop her from eating the lizard... friend... thing!

The tiny lizard squeaked--a sound of fear, one that practically cried Help me!--and bolted further down the tunnel.

It was quickly scurrying into the dark--but it looked like its hiding place might be a dead-end...

Electrum's fascination will fade in the next posting round, unless he successfully rolls to dispel it this round.

Haven's legs were swept out from under her and her head smacked off the stone painfully. She yelped and quickly got to her face, turning on the other.

"Electrum!", she gasped, "What the hell are you doing?!"

The other had attacked her! Why?!

She couldn't bite him, her teeth were full of venom, so she lunged for the lizard again, trying to just kill it then and there and then yell at Electrum later.

Haven lunged and sank her teeth into the creature, venom flowing through her teeth and into its body as she shook it like a terrier, trying to break its back. She flung it and hissed at the creature, so angry it had managed to get the attention of her mate so easily.
