Azure set up somewhat nervously, fidgeting and trying her best to quell the fear in her chest.

Before her lay a number of items, laid neatly out to see.

First were the dyes. She had on offer the shielding, strange dye of Opaque Bone, enough for a few visitors, really. Then there was her own special: Starlight Dye, dark dye strewn with glittering, glowing 'stars' that would give off their own faint light. Last she'd formed Creator's Glare--though of course she didn't call it that; it was a neon green, smoky stuff that glowed dimly in the dark.

She could permanently affix her dyes to visitors, if they wished it. Each dye was laid before a small piece of wood with a swathe of the dye painted on for demonstration.

Next were her baubled items: a few of her own feathers, rocks, and gemstones. Nothing very special; just little trinkets she'd formed over the cycles of working alone.

Lastly was her jewelry! This stuff was pretty great, she thought: pretty flowers picked from Eridanus, Preserved with magic and set inside of Summoned clear gemstones. These were then Baubled and hung on cords, forming beautiful and permanent necklaces and beads. She had, too, separate stones: variously-colored translucent stones Summoned around scatterings of Baubled stones crushed into dust, so that the stones looked like glowing starlight caught in permanent stasis. These, too, were mostly hung around cords.

Azure didn't call out--every time she tried she found that her throat was dry, a knot hanging in her throat, that she didn't know quite what to say. But she waited, to see if anyone would come--and to them she'd shyly answer any questions, hoping that her crafts and wares might bring joy to at least one other soul.

__________

OOC: Azure has no real "booth" but is offering baubled jewelry as described (threaded with 'starlight' or enclosing preserved blossoms), some on woven grass cords. She also has dyes to offer, and can Affix Dye for permanence when asked! Gembound are also welcome to bring their own dye materials to have them Affixed--see Azure's inventory to see what she has additionally available to help! There is no posting order and I will post periodically to respond to everyone in turn.

In he came, skittering in, his size and movements... questionable. But he made no move to attack, and it was clear from the way he paused and preened that he was examining Azure's wares.

He looked... high.

Swaying, a little confused, a little too happy and carefree, he began to speak. His voice was shockingly deep and smooth, a resonant deep baritone bordering on bass, and it was sing-song as he eyed the bird-hybrid over.

"Ahhh, pretty bird, what is this-? I've got bones of my own, but you know what I wish? Can you make it stick--nice and thick--and I'll pay you in... hmm, a flick of this?"

He stepped closer, one gemstone-capped foot tapping gently on the floor, and extended massive, curving fangs. A few drips of venom dripped onto the stone before Azure and he spoke further. "Drink that and you'll see new things, visit new places," and it was clear the spider had probably been sampling his own wares, at this point; "grow new wings, see new faces..."

This ended in a booming laugh, as if he found something hilarious about all of this. Probably because he was high as a kite. Glowing white eyes wandered a little too much as he stared around.

"All around us, y'see, all the time. Ahh, lookit me... back to rhyme?" Little limbs combed his fangs as he thought. "Anyway, little bird, I'd love me some of that nice bone dye. If I said otherwise, well... it'd be a lie." Somehow, despite his lack of... well, face, there was a smile in his words.

Talys was an increasingly gangly child now, becoming full of sharp angles and patchwork teeth (as baby teeth fell and adult fangs grew in to replace them). He was carrying a pumpkin he'd retrieved from the patch close to his chest, but had wandered over, drawn by the little bits of light here and there. Mesmerized, he set his pumpkin down between his feet and started to peer at the cord. "Can you show me how to make this?" he asked the creature selling it, totally ignoring the spider. "Oh, ummm, and I'd love to have one of these glowing necklaces with the plants in them -- and, uh, could I also just get a plain cord? I want to make this into a necklace."

He produced a jagged but not sharp chunk of basalt that he held onto tightly, like a lifeline. It bound him to his brother, after all -- even when he hadn't seen V-Selenite-One for many days. It was surprisingly easy to lose people in caves as big as these ones.

She took her time, applying a new layer of bone dye over the giant spider's limbs. The bristles were rougher--pointier--than she'd expected, and she also wasn't too damn sure about drinking a spider's venom. He made her nervous, and if it were any other task she might have rushed it in an attempt to get him out. But art was her pride, and so she lost herself in it; it was only when she pushed her magic to settle the dye permanently in place that she realized how much time had passed. Legba had gone still, too, allowing her to work without interruption, though his glowing white eyes--unbeknownst to her--had tracked her the entire time.

The magic flared, and lashed out--and suddenly half the dye was gone, simply-... missing.

Azure stared blankly.

"Um. Let me just-... put that back on," she said hastily, confusion gripping her. Had Legba done something to make this fail-? Or had it been her own magic?

Hurriedly she looked to the new visitor: a pretty thing that reminded her strongly of both Dip and Attikias. "Hey! Oh, hi, are you an elf?" Her voice was friendly. As she worked on Legba, she spoke to the newcomer. "You look a lot like my sister, Dip. She's an elf, I think? She's a smith," Azure explained. Any anxiety about strangers was again lost in faint enthusiasm. "Makes armor and stuff. I can show you how I did this, sure, but it may take awhile! It's a lot of magic," she explained. "It takes a few steps. The cord's just, um--well, you get grass, and you let it dry, right? It has to be the right kind, though--the kind that doesn't get sharp, or brittle. And then you weave it real tight. I have to use magic for that, but you have hands, so it'll be easier for you! -Oh, did you mean you only want to learn how to make the cord?"

Blue eyes shifted to peer at the elf's hands. "You can take it, sure. And the necklace, too, whichever one you want. I hope you like it," she added, a little awkwardly--not really sure how to properly give gifts to a total, random stranger.

Talys grinned. "I am! My name is Talys! I don't think I know your sister, though." What Azure said piqued his interest, though -- making things? Armor... smithing. Didn't the thing who lived in Leo call himself the Blacksmith? He'd have to go sniffing around that, sooner or later. For now, though, he listened to her explanation about cord and thought about it, silently miming the motions it would require before his eyes lit up again. "Great! Thank you!"

He took one of the glowing plant necklaces, this one with a flower inside, and a plain cord. He produced two baby teeth that had recently fallen out of his face, and set them down for Azure as payment. He only had one left now, but he'd deal with that when he got to it. "Bye! Thank you again!" he said, putting the necklace and the plain cord around his neck before stowing his basalt, picking his pumpkin back up, and waddling happily away.
