Child Name: N/A

Species: Hybrid from hell (cranefly x effluvium)
Appearance:
This kid is a truly horrible combination of creatures. It is twelve feet tall, and superficially looks like a mayfly. Its body is mostly charcoal grey, fading to tan on the extremities. It posesses two pairs of bulging insectoid eyes on its face and one below its first set of legs. It has 3 sets of legs, ending in clawed things. body is half fleshy and half keratin. Its wings are leathery, but in the shape of an insect's. The antennae are eerily similar to vertebrae, or tail bones. Its abdomen is covered in bony plates. When relaxed, eyes can be seen beneath. At the tip of its abdomen is a mass of fleshy maws and tentacles, like a tail.

Child Name: Creosote
Gender: shrug emoji
Species: Eldritch Monstrosity
Appearance: Its upper half greatly resembles the creature that once bore its stone, albeit with a great deal more eyes, jaws, and teeth. Its lower half is a mess of tattered wings, clawed limbs, tails, and meaty tendrils. It has a similar red-meat appearance to its lifegiver, but it also has a somewhat sparse coat of bristly, mold-colored fur, though its face and many of its limbs are hairless.

This conception was Successful! The litter will emerge December 3rd.

Effluvium will not be able to conceive again until March 3rd, 2021.

Child Name: Up to player!
Gender: Up to player!
Species: Hybrid (Meat x Alien)
Appearance: An overall disgusting thing to look at. It looks like just a pile of maroon-and-teal-colored meat at a glance, but it does have a bit more shape than its life-giver. It is quadrupedal, with its forelimbs being much larger and beefier than its hindquarters. Horns jut out from the front feet, looking more like raptor claws than horns. A pair of tentacles twist and writhe on its neck. Its head is a mess of canine-esque jaws and teeth, with some nineteen eyes and a pair of wolfish ears somewhere in there. Fully-grown, this horror is seven feet long, four feet wide, and five feet tall.
Element: Animal
Stone: Fire Opal

The crane fly hybrid is adoptable! I will be manually choosing the child! Will choose 5 days before hatching, so you have time to prepare their profile. Just use this form:

Personality:
RP Sample:
Anything extra:
Are you okay with the child being hurt upon hatching?:( Effluvium WILL try to eat all three children when they hatch. No way around it, IC it will want to eat them bc it has negative braincells. There is a risk of serious injury upon hatching.)

If the child is not claimed, it will be eaten by effluvium upon hatching! The red shirt of the kiddy trio

Personality: Not being solely a lumbering mass of meat, one might think that this child would have a more refined demeanor than that of its progenitor. In some respects, this is correct: it has more motivation than hunger to feed itself. However, its destructive tendencies are very much comparable. See, instinct has been usurped by twisted beauty standards in its rotting soup of a mind. It delights in what normally would be considered repulsive, finding a masterpiece in filth and scrambled entrails. Time is devoted to prettifying their immediate surroundings, a task that can be inferred as bloody and far from what is ordinarily perceived as tasteful. Fortunately, expressed displeasure at its artistic endeavors does not send it into a feeding frenzy or something equally dreadful. It’ll simply try to uglify the offender, an awkward ordeal that likely has the opposite effect that it intends.

Contained within the distorted insectile form is a capacity for affection like that of a puppy, loving freely to others’ detriment. To gain positive attention is to invite caring harm, as it will tear and rend with buzzing glee, unaware that pain is the antithesis of comfort. A proper bond for the creature is one rife with injury, unfortunately very much intentional. Consorting with it is either bravery, stupidity, or a baffling combination of the two. Regardless, the result is a dangerously playful monstrosity nipping at your heels with mouthparts front or back.

RP Sample:
All was good. Warmth clung snug to mushed and muddied meat and bone. Wings flittered in a sustained hover, caressed by the touch of a breeze. The buzz of excitement was in the air, courtesy of a budding artist’s eager vibrations. Claws grasped and pulled, red dripping from their ends. The brush of multiple appendages added their final touches to the barren canvas. A squelch of satisfaction. And then it sent itself further aloft to overlook its work. From above, it loomed gloriously as a misshapen storm cloud.

Viscera stained the sand below, bold against the beige landscape. To those who knew no better, its creation was three large and formless splotches made from pulverized and partially gnashed Lessers. Spindly legs flailing, it whipped and tumbled about so that all eyes could drink in its accomplishment. Where bright smears were made, it could see tangled limbs and melded jaws. Where blood was sharply flicked, ears were. Lovely grotesquerie aside, every stroke conveyed the enthusiasm of a child’s finger painting, albeit an oversized one.

No need to wonder what it thought of the results. Its erratic flight pattern became more so, looping and zipping through space. On a sharp dive passing from the beach to the sea, still reddened claws plunged into water to leave a trail of murder in their wake. Just as soon, it surged back up before darting for the tree line.

A shriek accompanied its hasty departure: “Pretties! Come see!”

After all, a family portrait needed appreciation from more than itself.

Anything extra: I see the cranefly kid as being overly attached to its siblings, often to the point where it could be obnoxious. It will want to ensure their well-being and be obsessed with pleasing them, likely leading to it picking up spells to assess their health and defend. In addition, it will be prone to bugging them about the latest mess beauty they’ve made of their food. However, it’s still a monster. Any attempts at being helpful will be varying degrees of horrible depending on the situation since it does not understand the meaning of peaceful resolution. For example, if someone were choking on something, it would try to slash their throat open.

Communication with more sensible Gembound will be all manner of confusing for it. I repeat, it thinks hurting is good and family friendly. Convincing it otherwise, if it’s even possible, will be an immense task.

It may want to track down Efflu due to its skewed view of familial bonds. Counterproductive to its survival? Yeah. Does it have a clue? No.

Are you okay with the child being hurt upon hatching?: Yes. The confused fly child will probably take the attempted infanticide as the ultimate act of love.
