Arquia wandered through the forests of Eridanus, looking for some fruit to eat. Her cloak billowed behind her as she walked, and hopped, through the underbrush. She was hoping to find some more peaches, but any fruit would do. Peaches were really high up in trees, and hard to reach, but it was always worth it. Even though she had wings, Arquia didn't... trust them. Flying was too risky and dangerous, so if she did find some peaches, she could just climb the tree to get them. Her tail was very good at wrapping around branches, so that helped a lot with tree climbing. Although the cloak increased her confidence, she still shied away from the more open areas, like clearings, instead choosing to stay close to some ferns or a form of shelter. It wasn't good to be out in the open, where you could easily be seen. And so, the one foot tall dragon wandered through the forest.

@Somnus

Somnus wandered to another place, this one also full of plants much like Pegasus was. He didn't prefer this one over that one, though, and thought to return to Pegasus later on. For now, he could explore. He needed to know all of the caves anyway, since he called the place his home. The glow that came from his eyes would not show as he blinked, but would come back when the eyes opened.

This cave was bathed in green, plants covering every inch of it. His eyes could really only see green. Maybe other colors from fruits, but the lion wasn't entirely paying attention to that. He didn't have any need to go for fruits anyway, being a carnivore (even if he was pretty bad at feeding himself so far).

Somnus didn't notice the leaf that was scuttling around - it was green just like the rest of Eridanus around him. He didn't even realize it wasn't an actual leaf.

@Arquia

It was hard not to miss the lion walking through the forest, since his yellow pelt stood out against the surrounding greenery. But Arquia was not paying attention to that, she had found a delicious looking clump of berries to eat. As her claws reached out, transporting the berries from the bush to her mouth, she had not noticed that her cloak was splayed out on the ground behind her.

Her ears turned as she caught the sound of the lion walking through the forest, and in a stupid attempt to escape, she tried running back across the trail. But since she was so leaf like, and her cloak was quite literally made of leaves, Somnus did not notice that his paw had stepped on her cloak as she tried to run. Arquia was only a few inches away from the safety of the ferns when she was jolted backwards by the neck, her cloak having been caught on the lion's paw. She fell onto her back, and turned around to see the lion that had caught her cape.

Oh-- this lion was smaller than she had thought it would be, but that didn't mean he was any less of a threat. She was not planning to get rid of her cloak, escape was not an option. Arquia bared her fangs at Somnus, "Off, off!"

@Somnus

There would be things for him to eat here, which was good. But there also were things for him to eat back where he hatched. Still, exploring this place would be good for him. Maybe he could find something other than the lessers in Pegasus. At least it was easy enough for him to tell the difference between a lesser and a non-lesser. It was simple enough in that lessers couldn't talk.

Somnus felt a leaf underpaw, and he almost kept moving - he'd been stepping on leaves this whole time, but something about this one was different. It wiggled around and demanded for Somnus to move. What was with him running into all of the small things? The lion cub lifted up his paw and shoved the small thing with that same one before placing it back down.

"You should watch where you're going." The cub chided.

Phew, the cub lifted his leg, but in the next moment, she was shoved head over heels onto the ground. It had been a light shove, but then again, she was a very light dragon. Arquia listened to the lion's words, not understanding them, but she could tell the tone was... anger? No, something else. But being unacquainted with such complicated things, Arquia walked up to Somnus and gave his paw a poke with her horn, telling him that she did not like how he had pushed her like that. She even added in a little tail smack, although that probably didn't do much.

@Somnus

The small... leafy thing got closer even though Somnus pushed her away. What was it with tiny things harassing him? Ever since he hatched he couldn't get them to leave him alone, it was almost as if he was cursed to be bothered by tiny gembound that he should kill but wont. It tapped him, or looked like it smacked him anyway. Somnus didn't like that.

"Stay over there." The cub growled out, sending a paw (no claws) to smack the leafy thing away again.

@Arquia

Her small tail smack did nothing, and instead she felt pain shoot through her tail. Darn! Then the lion growled at her, with rather menacing teeth. Arquia understood what this meant. It meant danger. A moment later, a paw came out and smacked her.

Her paws were lifted off the ground from the force, and her tail waved fruitlessly in the air. She didn't think to use her wings. Not like they worked anyway. The dragon landed hard on her back, quite a ways from the lion. Holding in a shriek of pain, she hauled herself onto her feet. So, this lion really was dangerous huh? He would pay for that!

Bearing her teeth, Arquia ran towards Somnus, and attempted to lunge forwards and bite him.

@Somnus

Somnus was able to knock the small gembound a few ways away just though a slap of his paw alone, and he was feeling rather accomplished for it. Perhaps he should work on that more - getting stronger. Fighting with other gembound to see how strong he could get. Not with this tiny thing, though. Fighting with that one seemed kind of pointless.

And then he got bitten, seizing before flopping to the ground, Somnus was confused. His limbs felt... like static. Was that what static felt like? It didn't last long, though, either, so soon he was able to stand back up and bare his fangs at the little shit in front of him. He wasn't able to move forward fast enough to do much damage with a swipe, though, and ended up missing this time.

[Giving Arquia a chance to get away bc of the slowness, since the numbness only lasts a couple of seconds.]

Arquia really hadn't expected her bite to do much. Well, she knew that it would make the lion bleed! But what was this? He started seizing and flopped onto the ground! A small drop of venom came out of her fang, and she watched the drop of blood red go down her scales. That-- wasn't blood. Oh shoot. What had she done? Had she killed him? Not like she cared if her were dead. But what if she had done that to Carja? As soon as this train of thoughts ended, the lion got back up, although his paw swipe was slow and she easily dodged it. She would think about all this later, for now, she would run! Run she did, sprinting away from Somnus, and the scene of crime.

Somnus felt tired, slow. Well not really tired, just slow. His body felt the same as it did before that stupidly tiny thing bit him, and now his paw was strangely numb. It didn't hurt, but touching anything made it feel weird. He could still feel things, just... Differently than before. Was he going to have to deal with that forever? Did the dumb tiny thing do something to him?

Before he could try to bite it himself, the winged thing ran off and Somnus knew he would have to hunt it down later. The tiny thing could make a nice meal to some lessers out here.

"I'll hunt you down!" He shouted after the small thing as she ran off.

For now he was going to go take a nap under a leafy tree.
