There was, naturally, very little reason to be here. Cycles of drifting had only amplified and empowered Madhukar's wanderlust. Now she was just going places with no push or pull. Okay, maybe there was a push. She was trying to psych herself up to do... a number of things. Running away was the furthest from an apology she could get. And yet, just the act of running made her feel better somehow. Maybe it was foolish of her to chase such a fleeting emotion. So there's a pull as well?

Well, anyways, Madhukar was here. This place sucked. Everywhere, all around herself, she could see her own reflection. Warbled and mottled and not just because of a trick of the light. Not just because of the costume, either. Something felt changed within Madhukar even beyond her physical form. Last time she'd seen her own reflection, she felt like she had made some kind of progress in the department of... accepting whatever had changed. But that was days ago, who knows how many. Madhukar's mood had shifted back to the unstable, melancholy version of "normal", so right now, she didn't want to look at this change. She didn't really want to be aware of its presence.

So instead of entering a catatonic state due to mirrors, Madhukar was going to occupy herself. By staring at not mirrors. There was this thing here, by the waterfall... Madhukar wanted to investigate.

The rift pulsed and whirled, a quiet, almost peaceful rushing sound. It nearly twinned the little waterfall in its sound, its dichotomy of peaceful lull and constant movement.

Nothing tumbled forth; in fact, it remained eerily constant.

The colors swirled and dipped in an almost hypnotic display. Whatever this thing was, at least it was not mirrors.

Paige loved mirrors! Both rock and water ones. This cave was absolutely full of them and that was GREAT, as far as the fox was concerned. Chasing her tail was far outshone by all the games she could play with her reflections. It was almost as good as playing with other Gembound!

As if the universe had heard her thoughts and decided to grant her a wish, a Gembound appeared right in front of her just as Paige stepped out from behind another giant crystal! She couldn't quite tell what it was... its fur was covered in mud and bits of plants, and there was a piece of wood covering its face. This looked like a fun game to try! Paige didn't see any plants around, but she thought she might be able to do something similar if she used a bit of magic.

With a popping noise, a large banana fizzled into existence. Deftly, Paige tore the thick skin at its tip with her teeth and carefully peeled the fruit. She snapped up the sweet flesh, her fur beginning to sparkle with a fabulous banana-y radiance, then draped the empty peel neatly over the top of her head like a hat. Perhaps she'd be able to make a more elaborate disguise with more bananas, but she was getting impatient. She wanted to play now!

"Look!" she chirped, bounding up to the plant-covered Gembound. Her banana hat slid forward on her head with the motion, and a section of the peel draped over her gem-eye. "I liked your disguise so I made one too! Can we play now?"
