Kalama, shaken up as she was, could only stand there and wonder, the fuck happened? There was the fighting, and then a strange dust. Something invaded her mind. Filling her with calmness she did not ask for, nor want. Some being she didn't recognize calling itself her 'Mother.' She was relieved to have been cleansed by James, but offered no verbal thanks. She gave him a look, not hostile, but not openly friendly.

The closest Kalama would come to thanking a stranger. Her mind kept going back to that strange, calm fog Mother had inflicted on her. The thought of it was...she clenched her teeth. Her tail whipped. Kalama's heart panged in distress, with anger simmering beneath her skin.

"Whoever did that is gonna PAY." She said. She growled in anger. Kalama tromped through the snow, towards Polaris. A string of curses and hatred leaking from her mouth. She paused, to give Azigh and Astraea a look. She wasn't here to save other gembound. She just cared about getting her revenge on the one so bold as to think they could control her, a Champion. The fact she didn't know any of them helped.

"I'll do whatever, so long as I get to beat the shit outta whoever thinks they can control me." Next time, SHE would be the one controlling her enemies. She'd be ecstatic to burn down whatever that white dust was.

Kalama's magicka sparked, and her feathers first began to smoke, before her extremities began to glow. Her tail and eyebrow feathers casting embers into the snow. Smoke billowed off her, thick enough to obscure her form, only the glint of her pale teeth and glaring orange eyes wholly visible.

She did not offer a helping hand to the wounded. Nor did she take a helping hand. She was angry. No, she was livid. Too enraged to consider aiding or being aided. Nor would the chicken have been much help. She gave a brief glare towards the remaining fighters, then Astraea and Azigh. Kalama snorted, scraping her claws against the ground. She left tunnel B without any more words to spare, looking wholly dangerous.

Effluvium was not as eloquent as Kalama. It had no words to spare. It went back to ferality. The fires and the fighting, the deception of its meal were too much for it. It snarled at any and everything. The whites of its eyes showing, terrified and confused.

Anyone approaching would get a jaw full of mismatched teeth snapping at it. It did not linger. Not even to hear the words of Azigh or Astraea. And, frankly, Effluvium staying around the wounded was a bad idea in general. It did not thank James.

This one had even less manners than Kalama. No looks of thanks. No consideration of it. As soon as it was free of Mother, James got a snap of teeth in warning, and a low growl. James' magic was the closest sensory thing it could recognize. Still feeling under attack, but not knowing where from, it broke into a sprint for Polaris.
