He still had no idea why she wanted to move, and found himself quickly growing bored with following her about. Oblivious to him, she was scouring the cliffsides and caves, and this was taking time. His interest faded, his attention span simply gone, by the time she chose her tree.

At last, when she spoke, his attention sharpened back at the topic at hand and his mind leapt back from daydreams of fire and deer.

He studied the new den site for a moment. "THAT'S A TREE," he informed her at last, loudly. But she had mentioned branches. With a mental shrug, he hovered carefully closer to the tree. This took effort--he was a flying being, a gliding one, and despite his streamlined build not made for simply hovering.

At length hooked claws deposited the nest--somewhat lopsidedly, but he was sure that she could fix that.

"YOU WANT ME TO GUARD THIS PLACE? THIS IS A STUPID PLACE," and Dread looked around. He didn't really register that it might be difficult for a blind creature to spot a suitable den.

As if to set an example, he turned and stiffened his wings, gliding down and away to a nearby cliff-face; and here he lashed his tail again as he drifted close, angling his body so as not to hit the rock with his wings. A gap tore open in the rock--cracking away, though it left fault-lines above and below. Still, it was... a hole, a passable den, and stone and pebbles fell out, rolling down the hill into the sea below. "A ROCK PLACE WOULD BE BETTER," he explained, "LIKE THIS."

Haven just shrugged and tried to position the nest before jumping as Dread made the cliff shake again. She crept forward, hanging over one of the branches, and jumped down, clambering into the den. She tossed out stray rocks, boulders, pebbles, until it was a good den, and then struggled to drag her nest into it while not dumping everything out.

Finally she packed dry cliff dirt into the cracks and curled up, flopping down in her nest, exhausted.

"You're clumsy," she said, poking her head out, "You can't ride the winds good, you're like a boulder someone attached wings to."

It bugged her, and she was going to do something about it. Just... later.

"I'll teach you later, I'm going to sleep now," she said, curling up and tucking her head under her wing.

Dread swivelled his head around sharply, eyes narrowing at the insult.

"I FLY FINE," he bellowed--and he did; he was graceful in the air, masterful in flight... but hovering with a hundred pound nest was certainly another, clumsy story indeed. "I WAS TRYING TO PUT DOWN YOUR STUPID NEST." A quizzical pause; "WHY DO YOU EVEN NEED A NEST?"

She was pretty much tucking herself away, though, and Dread gave up conversation. He would go back to flying--hunting, too--and sweep back to his own den soon enough.

It wasn't that he'd forget the other dragon, or his deal; more that he focused on one thing at a time, and his rage did not come with a grudge.
