Here she was, back in Polaris with some newfound knowledge about art. The questions she'd thought of back with the Sentinel were still in her mind, too, and she resolved to try to answer some of them today. Without getting cooked, to the best of her ability.

She'd made the suggestion to grab some of the Spire and move it in jest, but... if she was careful about it, could it be possible? There would certainly be no physical grabbing, and no moving of large pieces, but a small piece shouldn't hurt all that much, if it did at all. At least, that was what Dewberry hoped.

She began to gather her magic, but it was sluggish and unwilling. Spells could be like that, sometimes, and she tried her best to be patient.

This would take at least a second try, then. Perhaps many tries, but Dewberry had all the time in the world. (Well, not quite; she didn't like leaving her siblings for long. But a few hours was basically all the time in the world when it came to making a few spell attempts, anyway.)

A smaller floating crystal orbited the greater Spire, with a few companions. It was about the size of her head, and Dewberry focused on this, trying to grasp it with her mind-magic. "Come here, little rock," she murmured under her breath. "I just need to borrow a little piece."

Then she could have some answers, even though she wasn't sure what she was going to do with those, just like she hadn't had any plans for the pink dye she'd made. It was all just for curiosity, a bit of harmless (hopefully) fun. Maybe she could bring over a little pink and see if she could put dye on the Spire? But it wasn't like dye had an expiration date, was it? She didn't have to use it anytime soon.

Focus. On that little blue crystal.

The closer the little rock came, the more... tingly it felt.

Magical-tingly. Faintly-burning-tingly. Not dangerous, as yet; it might burn to touch it, though it might also be unwise to test.

Or maybe it would be fine. It was hard to tell, really; the tingling was so vague...

It worked! And nothing bad was happening! Dewberry felt a rush of giddy excitement as the rock floated closer, though she wasn't sure why. Probably because this was the Spire she was magic-moving, and oh my god has anyone ever tried this before?

For the most part, it seemed like a normal rock--no magical lightning sparked to smite her for the audacity of daring to retrieve it, at least. Of course, it glowed blue and had a weird tingly feeling to it, but Dewberry was feeling fine so far! As long as she didn't touch it; she got the vague feeling that the tingliness might spark to something more the closer she got.

"All right, little Spire rock," she breathed, focusing on keeping her magic under control. "Why don't you come with me to Orion?" She turned to slither toward the Tunnel N entrance, and tugged through her magic: coaxing the Spire piece to drift after her.

For now, nothing changed: the tingling remained, the stone gently held in Dewberry's magic grasp.

Perhaps once she reached Orion things would change, or maybe not: only time--and science--would tell.
