QUESTS/EVENTS
Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.
There was nothing. Nothing. The bat flew and flew but even the distant heartbeats of life faded as he flew on, trying to find his way home. He was lost, horribly lost, after that disaster of a trial. Sure, they had come to a peaceful solution, but it had bothered him deeply that one gembound had tried to murder another. He knew he had been right to stay away from strangers and listen carefully...
That was when Tal'at tasted the bones. There was a dryness to Canis that you never forgot, and it soaked into him worse that the constant rain of Cetus. It smelled somehow worse than the first time he had come, like things had come to rot here. This intrigued him, but he wasn't here to visit Giggle... Perhaps he would go to her if he truly couldn't find a way out, back to his friends. She had been nice, and he had done so much since they had last met. Would she like to hear his stories?
He landed among the bones with a gentle clatter, frantically squirming so that he didn't end up trapped under the skulls and femers. Shivering, he sat up right and turned his head all the way to the right, then all the way to the left, clicking with concern. Was anyone here?
How utterly bored. Nothing to watch. Nothing to observe. No... live prey to stalk from the heights above. White and obsidian feathers ruffled as the growing eagle perched in his chosen spot. A nest he had made at the highest point he could find in Canis that would keep view of it's entrance and most other places within the room. He had grown significantly during his quiet stay within Canis. He had heard the on-goings of the other places. Heard of the dragon that now defiled his birth place. The whispers and hushed voices that trembled with fear from such a beast roaming the caves. He would be a fool to say he was not at least a little worried about this beast. He had not ventured out of Canis for the longest while, but he also was curious to set eyes on this creature also.
It wasn't until he heard the rattling of bones did his attention pull from his thoughts and his deep violet eyes moved instantly. Searching for the cause of the noise. Clicking his beak when he could not quite spot what had caused the sound he had finally decided to go down and see. Peeling his wings away from his body RaikZik took no time to step off of his nest and instantly began gliding towards the sound. His drift was slow and easy, piercing eyes searching all over.
When he spotted the cause of noise a sudden sensation overtook him and he gave a flap of his wings to hurry himself along. With a flutter of his wings he slowly eased himself to his talons upon the cave's floor and once again clicked his beak, this time out of what one could make for joy. "Tal'at" His deep voice grated out, scratchy and still rarely used. HE knew, however, that Tal'at would not see him so it was his only option to communicate with his little leather-winged brother. The joy he felt deep inside of him was not displayed on his exterior as he loomed over the bat.
The heartbeat spoke to him. As he heard it, he could taste the sweetness of his first fruit, and the safety of his first real companion. He knew this heartbeat, even though it had grown stronger and mature since last he had known it. Calmer. Steadier.
As the voice hit his ears the hesitance he felt broke like water from a dam and he grinned, flinging himself towards the harpy eagle. "Hello my friend! I found you!" He squeaked, tossing himself into the fluffy feathers of his first friend, his brother, his best buddy.
"I thought never... Never see you. I've done much. Explored cave lots. There's much telling. Lots to say. I'm so happy," he rattled off, but the abruptly fell silent, waiting for his friend to answer him back. Oh, but he was such a happy bat.
