Species: Alligator x Flying Pitch Rat
Appearance: An alligator-colored flying beast covered in scutes and scales, this thing looks exactly like what it is: an alligator bat hybrid. The face, however, is almost rat-like, with rat-like incisors; the animal (some eight feet long, including the tail, and weighing perhaps two hundred pounds) is omnivorous--capable of subsisting off fish and meat or plant matter, or both. Three eyes (strangely iridescent, almost like reflective oil) sit on each side of the face. The creature is a capable swimmer, but in the air it is not capable of long sustained or gliding flight; instead its flight requires constant beating and effort due to its heft, the weight of its tail keeping it more vertical than a flying creature optimally should be. Flight is therefore possible, but tiring after a moment or two.

Appearance: This creature is some fourteen feet long (including the tail), weighing nearly four hundred pounds, yet capable of true flight. Despite its initially silly appearance, this is a creature quite capable of ensuring its own survival. Colored like a female Eurasian Bullfinch, complete with black cap, it likewise bears the long, powerful (and toothless) beak of a Bullfinch coupled with powerful alligator jaws. The ears are much like short cottontail ears, but tufted with feathers and bearing the strong inner ears of an owl--not quite as keen, as this creature does not share the owl's dish-shaped face, but powerful nonetheless. Four platypus feet ensure strong swimming skill, and the powerful hind legs of a rabbit grand this creature strong ground speed and leaping skills. Sight is strong, binocular, its eyes not unlike an eagle owl's, but not quite as strong given the less dish-shaped face. In all, it appears unassuming but is well-adapted to almost any lifestyle, and is omnivorous, capable of subsisting off of anything from insects, plants and seeds to meat and fish. As a final note, small spurs on the hind legs are capable of injecting platypus venom: while ultimately harmless (though it can paralyze very small animals), it is excruciatingly painful and can leave the affected area hyper-sensitive to pain for months.

Appearance: Somewhere between reptilian and fish, this bizarre creature is nonetheless somehow coherent to look at. It spans some eight feet long from head to tail-tip, or nine or so if including the snout lengthwise. Of this, perhaps five feet is tail. When partially upright, this creature is capable of slow movement with a humanoid body, though it maneuvers better using arms and tail on the ground both. In this position, it 'stands' about five feet tall, including a foot or so of its tail. It weighs about three hundred pounds, but this is solid muscle; the fins, webbed fingers, ridged tail and axolotl-like exposed gills (which allow it to breathe underwater) make it a perfect swimmer, capable of permanent life beneath the waves. Alligator-like eyes grant it good vision in even murky water. Four spiral horns jut out from the jaw and chin. The colors are subdued black-greens, grey-browns and blue streaks along its flanks and tail, and blue tints to the edges of each fin. Hard scales and scutes cover its body, with ridged alligator-like armored skin covering the back, head and tail.

Okay, guys, these are: *deep breath* UP FOR ADOPTION. Two requirements:

- They will be Children of Rot, at least at first; if IC events have them leave later it's fine but don't apply if you PLAN on having them leave, please!
- No murdermonkeys! If they realistically develop some cruel tendencies later that's okaaaayyy, but I don't wanna enable crazy sadist killing stuff with these fellas. They will have a Good Dad at the very least.

As a note, gender-wise, if someone adopts the naga-like child and wants to alter the appearance to make it a bit more feminine that's fine! As long as I or another GM/admin okays the design it's a-okay; I designed it as "male" but you can def. slim it down or do whatever (so long as it's approved by staff).

Name: Skein

Gender undecided

Skein will be a quiet gembound. It speaks, but it mutters and gossips more than it speaks. However, Skein loves its' family. It is overly protective of its family, its father and siblings, to the point of overbearing. It will rarely say a sour word about them, at least to their faces. It believes it impossible for it's family to do any harm. But Skein greatly dislikes and distrusts outside influences. Skein may not be very intimidating at first glance, but will make up for it with their rabid defense of the Children of Rot. Among the siblings, Skein will always be the voice of reason in the group. Or, at least, try to plagiarise Dragon's words and wisdom. It is overly cautious, and in lightest terms, a teacher's pet. If it sees a sibling sneaking off, it will be sure to follow, and lecture them, if not immediately tattle to its father.

Skein will view itself as a sort of third parent to the others at its later age. Despite the fact that it is the same age as its siblings. It will, at the very least, try to be the most mature of the bunch. Skeins role in the children of Rot will likely be a silent observer. It will attempt to protect its family by any means necessary, which has the potential to lead it down a dark path.

Name: Akaw

Akaw looks as if it'd be intimidating, ferocious, but instead, Akaw is friendly and laid back. Akaw will be one of the easiest to approach of dragon's children, with unending patience. Nothing either seems to phase it, nor draw its ire. Isolation in the swamps of Cetus have served a purpose. It loves new things. It is kindly and cheerful. Especially to new gembound. It is extremely excited upon meeting them. If akaw sees a newcomer, they will bulldoze their way to them, in order to chat them up.

It seems to not care about much, excluding meeting people, but in actuality it is a decisive gembound. There simply isnt a lot that upsets it. Even then, not much is enough to have its opinion known. Akaw is normally quiet, and lazy. it enjoys dozing off near spots of warmth. But when it talks, it is a chatterbox. Akaw never seems to say much, or much legible to the ears. Its speech is punctuated with a million 'dudes' and bros and such. Unsurprisingly, they never seem to be actually saying much. However, if another gembound upsets its morals enough, the normally quiet Akaw will tear into them verbally, and surprisingly verbosely.

Akaw is a daredevil. The quiet and slow life of Cetus has made Akaw hunger for excitement. It will be a show off, not vain in any way, but excited to show off what its' practiced at. This is especially so for gembound its just met. Unfortunately for it, its difficult to show off its water prowess to land creatures.

No idea what plots for this one. CoR ambassador?

Char Personality:
The first trait this child will develop is a curiosity for everything. No matter how dangerous, this child wants to know everything about everything, no matter what it is. This will undoubtedly develop into a want for adventure. This kid wants to meet as many gembound as possible and see as many cool things as possible. With a natural affinity for many types of travel, this kid will want to learn how to do as many things as possible, as well. With an affinity for being active, this gembound will never be seen not moving unless they are sleeping. Thus, this child has a few twitches, whether its their wings, ears, their tail, or their legs on the ground, something is always moving.

When this gembound focuses on something it is hard for them to remove that focus to something else, which means it's easier for them to learn one thing at a time. It also means that when they set their mind to it, they won't drop it until they get what they want out of it. Whether that be knowledge or something else is determined when their focus is placed on the thing. Specifically, I think they would want to learn flying and swimming first so they know how to use their limbs right.

This child may not know their own strengths. They don't want to hurt anyone on purpose, but accidental slip ups with a kick or a graze with the spur may inevitably happen. They feel really bad in such cases, and will try everything to make it up to the other gembound if they'll let them. The gembound also has a high regard for family, and will stick by them no matter what.

Personality:

The most philosophical child one could ever meet.

She's a precocious kid, picking up speech and advanced concepts surprisingly quickly; Khloros' teachings and learning about the nature of stones in particular will inspire something in her. The thought that there was someone using her gemstone before her sets her dreaming—before long, she'll take on the name Revenant to express her "undead" nature. A curious fascination with the dead will accompany this; she collects bones and may come home to Dragon some days with her talons covered in Oil, although she'll never end up truly Corrupted.

Other than that: An adventurer at heart, always seeking new experiences and chasing after new things; has a recklessness typical of childhood that will have to be tempered with a few bad experiences before she learns to slow down a little. Will be magic-focused; starting out with learning fire from Dragon, and eventually journeying around the caves to search for mentors in other magics. End goal will be either Phaseshifter, Master of Elements, or Destroyer.

I enjoy the thought of her eventually speccing into Earth to aid Dragon with his goals of creating a safe place for the caves! Will definitely have a close relationship with her father; I enjoy the thought of daughter-parent bonding between the two of them.

Trying out for two because I'm filled with power.
May end up combining some of these ideas with each other! Still kinda working it out. Also no names yet because I absolutely suck at those.

They are TERROR! They are a BEAST OF FIRE! A TRUE DRAGON!

They're the kind of person to cry at a picture of an especially cute puppy.

While their appearance is quite intimidating, their actually personality generally comes off as an overly cartoonish supervillain. Their want to be perceived as threatening and scary bordered on an obsession- though a relatively harmless one, as they lack the guts to do any true harm without being seriously pushed beforehand. When not trying to intimidate, they're generally either off exploring or hanging out with their siblings. They truly love their family (and will likely see all members of the CoR as family) and would do nearly anything for them.

They'll either focus on fire and light magic, or go down the other path instead. This will probably depend on what happens in rp

Char Personality:
From the beginning, they'll be a crafter. Their 'inventions' as they so affectionately refer to them will vary in quality and actual functionality, the earliest ones being more fueled by childish imagination than anything else. Whether or not they actually work, each of these invention will share a common purpose- making life for the CoR better. Though their idea of useful tends to differ from most others. They're the kind of person to see infomercial-style kitchen gadgets as 'highly innovative, useful inventions'.

A lack of social skills and general inability to be phased make them quite.. interesting to talk to. They'll take nearly any conversational topic and run with it as if it's just discussing the whether, though when given the chance they'll take about whatever they happen to have in mind, which tend to come out of no where and can be quite derailing.

They're going down the magic path as a craftsman, likely ending up with a variety of spells from a bunch of elements. They'll still probably favor their birth element, as well as earth and water.

Guys, THANK YOU for the applications. I can't even describe how hard it was to pick, because I love them all SO much. I had a real hard time picking between each one and I wish I had six to give out. They're all great character concepts, and the dynamics between any of them would've been great. In the end I've decided to give the chars to:
