It was much like the way she had started.

A smooth egg of crazy lace agate- though much larger than it had been before. It was covered in a thin layer of ice and frost, rather than ferns and plant-life. It had been sitting here for far, far too long.

Only now did consciousness touch her, awareness seeping in. It was dark and her wings were pressed to her sides, her talons curled up against her body. A groggy thought of just like the day i hatched. And a second, less groggy thought of WAIT WHERE and a third fully awake thought of THAT HORRIBLE SNAKE.

All it took was a couple strikes of her talons, a some batterings from her wings, and the weakened crystal shattered, leaving the newly freed and enraged owl in the middle of the freezing cold tunnel.

She had been exploring when she'd encountered the snake- gigantic, pale icy blue with fins lining it's sides. She'd managed to scare the thing off with a swipe across the face, but not before it'd bitten her.

Apparently the venom had been much stronger than she was.

"AUGH!" Angry, but with nothing to truly direct her anger at, she reached for her magic. It came, sluggish but burning just as hot as she did- eyes flaring orange, feathers warming up to combat the chill of the frozen tunnel. She kicked a couple stray pieces of her shattered chrysalis, too absorbed in her anger to pay much attention to her surroundings.
