Researcher's heart leapt! Her Object! "No," she scolded sternly, trying to keep a level voice but a little bit of worry getting through. Her hand (not the one covered in grubs, mind you) reached out to grab the lizard before it made it's getaway. She needed to study it's slime. And adorableness.

Alas, she didn't make it. Instead, all the gibbon accomplished was slipping and painfully hitting her toxic, glimmering stone on the cold stone. Graceful ape indeed.

The little lizard was gone in a flash: zipped into another crevice as Researcher fumbled and fell, and then out of sight entirely.

This crevice was a dark one; there was no telling how deep it ran, or how long the Slime Belly might stay inside. There was a chance it was lost to the primate entirely.

Researcher sighed as the Slimebelly zoomed away, the sound reverberating around her stone and through the cave. She clacked her jaw against the stone. "Object. Come back." Her hands started trembling because of all the prodding-and-poking she'd been doing. A moment passed. Then, more forcefully: "Object."

Looks like she'll just have to play the waiting game. The golden-haired ape stretched out her willowy limbs into a straight-backed sit, just before the niche. Her hand, still gripping whatever remained of the bugs, waved back and forth in front of it tantalizingly. But this did give her an idea.

'Walls can be used as a form of shelter. Hard, impenetrable. For small creatures only. But what if I scaled it up...?'

There was nothing, for the most part. Just silence, and the darkness of the crevice to greet Researcher. It was a good thing she found a lesson in this incident, because it was looking more and more like the lesson was the only thing she'd be taking from this place.

Object was lodged deep within its crevice, and bar a single quiet slither audible only once, it didn't seem to be budging.

Researcher watched the crevice with decreasingly little interest. Her hand slumped down until it touched the floor. Mist condensed on the inside of her gem. Still, Object had seemingly no intentions of worming its way back out. Her shoulders slumped in defeat.

"Come out." she said, one last attempt at coercing the lizard out of it's hole. Finally accepting her miniature defeat, the gibbon stood up, leaving her pike where it was, and slowly made her way back to the glowing cave entrance.

Exit Researcher.

Behind the primate, and following her quiet departure, the little lizard crawled to the crack entrance.

Black-and-yellow head peeked out just a little, studying the stranger's back. The scent of food was still present, but now the threat was moving away...

The tiny brain debated...
