The Sentinel waited, unperturbed. He allowed Vargas to explain things--noting that the Master didn't actually bother answering half of Mirac's questions. There was nothing about his titles, and very little about his light. Perhaps he simply assumed that Mirac didn't care, or wouldn't notice. The Sentinel wondered if it would.

As for a battle--"Master Vargas wishes a spar," he clarified to the blade, in case it tried to outright slaughter Vargas. Maybe it would remember his warnings about spars versus real fights. ...Maybe it wouldn't. Maybe it wouldn't want to fight at all, though somehow he sincerely doubted that.

"The Sentinel is willing. Will Mirac fight?" he asked. There was no emotion in it, either way; for a being of so-called Chaos, the Sentinel was coldly empty.

Asking Mirac if he wanted to fight was like asking a duck if it wanted to swim. Before then, Mirac might've paid attention to Vargas' previous words. Might've even had an answer, but as soon as Vargas mentioned fighting, Mirac's excitement threw any other thoughts out the window. Mirac went into battle mode, gripping Sentinel's arm. He practically pulled Sentinel forward, barking all the while. An endless stream of: "YES! YES YES YES YES YES! MIRAC WANTS TO FIGHT! FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT! FIGHT MIRAC NOW!"

The white flesh that held Mirac's jaw together began tearing apart. Clumps of gum fell to the ground, and his teeth were exposed in a manic grin. Black and glistening purple in the light. Electricity once more began to crackle up the blade, condensing into a single bolt. Except this time it had a target to aim for--Vargas.

Vargas wasn't quite ready, but that didn't matter. He'd been expecting Sentinel to come at him first, perhaps with magic and a strike combined, but it seemed the sword didn't put much stock into teamwork. Though, in fairness, chaos was its own tactic.

He didn't have time to think, past that; the black lightning was arcing toward him.

He feinted left, then lunged right, a dodge intended to avoid the strike. The crackle passed him close by.

His hulking muscles tensed, head lowering, tail sweeping along behind him. Toxic eyes focused with laser clarity on his opponent. Opponents.

He would judge them, certainly; but for now, he was focused on the battle itself.

The Sentinel had laid the halberd down, and in that time Mirac was launching an attack. He was struggling to keep up--he'd not had time to really consider how to adapt his fighting tactics to a much, much tinier weapon. It wasn't that Mirac was small, by any means; it was just that it was half the length of the halberd, his reach much, much less.

He'd need to get in close, and with Vargas that would be difficult: the Leviathan was fast, agile.

He'd also need to strike first, and hard, and to make that strike count. If he could slow, weaken Vargas off the bat, he'd grant them a far better chance at success.

The Sentinel lunged, a swift charge of his own that brought his momentum around, as Vargas finished his sideways leap. He slashed Mirac in and down, aiming to tear into Vargas's flesh at neck and shoulder--not his throat, this time, but a gash that would hopefully bleed.

He felt the blade chunk home, heard the spill of acidic blood hiss down... He'd hit, though what Mirac would do to Vargas, he couldn't gauge just yet.

Mirac felt the satisfying thunk of himself being driven into flesh. The sensation of blood staining his metal. It had been too long since Mirac had had the opportunity to do so. And he was living in the moment. Mirac's needles began to draw blood from Sentinel, flooding him with Mirac's concoction of adrenaline and corruption. Sunk into Vargas, Mirac took the opportunity to open his jaws within the flesh, and bite down on whatever surface presented itself.

Vargas staggered, choking back a guttural snarl before it left his throat. The sharp searing pain of impact chunked in just around where a collarbone would be (assuming his alien anatomy had one), cutting deep--BITING deep--and ripping a hole into his flesh. Hot, acidic green blood splattered down, hitting the rocky floor and hissing.

The Leviathan turned, cocking back his other forelimb to all its ridiculous length, and then bringing it around full-force for the Sentinel's chest. He didn't pull the punch: it was meant to send the Sentinel flying, or smash his chest if need be.

The sentinel jerked Mirac free in a spray of acidic blood and gore, his balance pristine and his black form working smoothly. He could see Vargas, even in Draco's dim light, swivelling--pulling an arm back--and he lifted his own spined forearm. He half tucked-down, and concentrated: and the power he'd felt join with him upon Emuh's trial flared.

If Vargas struck him--and he would--the immense strike would do nothing. Instead, it would reverberate, refract the damage, send him staggered back with perhaps a wounded or at least badly-jarred forelimb.

"It is..." the Sentinel rasped, "too simple." Was that a brag? An insult, an observation? Impossible to know; but it was delivered without emotion from his braced stance.

Mirac had a clear opening to launch its own strike, if it so chose.

Mirac's eyes screwed shut at the impact of Vargas' fist. It was an involuntary thing, one which he was quick to rectify. Mirac's eyes flew open, finding Vargas reeling from their combined attack. A soft chuckle began.

"HAH!" Mirac screamed, his eyes squinting in mirth. "Mirac and wielder are UNSTOPPABLE! You must try HARDER to take us down! You will feel our POWER!" Mirac said, ending in a unrestrained cackle. Mirac's slit pupils settled on Vargas' injured arm.

The injury their wielder had made! Not one to let their wielder down, Mirac concentrated his magicka. It came both quickly and easily. Mirac's steely jaws split, and with a flash of purple and a harsh crackle, a bolt of light shot out.

Vargas did not know how it had happened--he'd thrown his punch, and an instant later he was sent reeling, repelled and battered by some magic he did not recognize. It felt like a jolt slammed up his arm--and then this was doubled, joined by a black lash of electricity that arced to him and coiled up his muscles. The pain was immense: it was like fire, chaos crawling under his skin, ripping through his veins. He almost cried out, jerked back and down by his own limb, hook-teeth bared in protest.

He'd have to get the sword away, he judged--and it took him a moment, a moment that could've been fatal, to regain control of his limb. But Vargas was not one to fall back and reconsider, or to stop and gauge the situation. He had gauged it. He pushed the attack, unrelenting, shoving forward on three limbs now and swinging the damaged one like a flail for the Sentinel's leg.

Could he knock it off its feet--remove its mobility entirely? That would be his aim, and his towering size gave him an advantage in covering ground, even if he was a little... limp.

Mirac's ranting went unnoticed--Vargas made no mention, if he heard it, and the Sentinel had the fight on his mind. Calculating eyes watched the Master move, the Sentinel's own fluid motions a constant reaction. His limb is wounded. Will he retreat-? He is coming. He will try to remove our capabilities.

The Sentinel prepared, pulling back a little. Mirac didn't have the reach that the halberd did: he couldn't parry an entire strike, or at least deflect it--not that this was easy with someone the size of Vargas, anyway. But the Sentinel would have to adapt to Mirac's shorter length.

He stepped to one side, bringing Mirac around to attempt to slam the swinging limb away--out from under the Leviathan, or at least away from them--and then snapped the blade up for Vargas's chin. It would, if he struck true, impact the Master's jaw: not hard enough to split bone, but enough to expose it.
