FRIEND
I WILL ALWAYS BE LOOKING FOR YOU

Friend flomped. Friend flomped hard.

He didn't react when the battle ended, when the water level began to drop, or when Brandle set him down in one of the remaining water puddles. Well, save for a grateful look at the Child of Rot. He was tired, and still a little scared, and he wanted to sleep.

Good thing a cloud of dangerous sickness was closing in. The fish flopped tiredly towards Farina's gift. His eyes became glassy as black crystal spread over his tiny body, preparing for the slumber. 'Good night,' he thought, and then everything was dark.

Sand Shark(Alien) Gortie

Galleon approaches Farina. Cautiously. Like a feral animal coaxed forward with a morsel of food, a her a tiny glimmer of hope this was one she could trust. An anticipation of rescue from these dark caves, and the horrible beasts that dwelled within the pure black waters. As she was soon to find out, her trust was misplaced. The cloud of green spread out. The shark reflexively inhaled. Her eyes glared more fiercely, and although she had no words for the feeling yet, the idea of betrayl echoing in her mind.

A gasp of dread brought in the diseased water. Galleon tried to cough it out, but her vents only spread it further around her. Galleon wheezed, the already dim water growing even darker around the edges. She thrashed as she went down, bone sheet teeth gnashing at the opaque green water. Biting for whatever and whoever she thought might've been near. Slower and slower. And then, with one last click of bone on bone, gave in to the abyss.

"We... we did it..."

The words fall unbidden from Astéri's mouth as, for a moment, he barely registers his surroundings. All that he sees in front of him is the figure of the massive, massive crab and the bloodied, broken Kraken in front of him, dark blood drifting through the water, seeming green in the depths.

He's aching and bruised and something's probably bleeding inside of him but he doesn't think about that. Doesn't feel it, with the rush of adrenaline the fight's provided. Only thinks of... that. The great Kraken that they had felled, that the crab had dealt the finishing blow just in time for them all not to chrysalize.

How many Gembound fell, before the Kraken did? Sickness and flailing tentacles, striking to throw and grab and crush—he could have been one of them. Some feeling of sickly dread in his chest tells him he might still fall—a lingering nausea and a feverish dizziness that clamps around his head and doesn't let go.

His father's voice brings him back to the present, (sort of), and it's only then he notices the room has drained, a little. Were he not gravely injured, he'd dart up to the surface, to finally free himself of the depths, but as it stands, he can only weakly paddle towards his family.

Mutations. Chrysalis. Rest.

He thinks he'd like that...

Half-conscious, he swims into the cloud of green.

Terror from the Depths Fracture

MAGICKA LEVEL 100%
RESTORED TO 100%

The gemstone had already begun emerging from its mouth and crawling over Terror's form by the time the battle was over. Nearly unconscious, broken and bloody, it didn't register the water level dropping; nor did it register the Master's proclamation.

But it did register the stilling of the waters. Some dim, instinctive part of it recognized the Kraken's death.

And although it was too out of it to think, too out of it to do anything but let the crystal overtake it, to heal to die again, it did feel a rush of primal satisfaction from the slaying of the beast.
