I just feel like posting a puppy... prod me if you'd like to join otherwise I'll be just. posting puppy
Oooooh.
He'd never been here, before-! It was all bright, glowing and shiny. Pretty, too, with purpley browns and brilliant blues.
The puppy was weary, but he had taken a nap in the tunnel, after he'd broken clear of that really big dark cave. It had been pretty, too, with lots of little light spots in the ceiling, but it'd been dusty and empty and scary, so he was glad to find someplace with lights! And now that he'd napped, he could explore again! He did a little hop, and started to bounce into the room.
He was hungry, which was a little problematic. He didn't really like the idea of killing things to eat, so so far he'd mostly stuck with bugs. One of them had made him sneeze and see colors, though, so he was mostly trying to avoid those now.
But-! Pretty rocks!
Bentley bounded to the nearest glowing crystal, his tail wagging happily. He pushed his nose to it, but it didn't move--it just sat there, cool to the touch and smooth. Yup, he thought, both excited by the light and disappointed by its inaction, that's a rock!
He bolted in a bounding circle to the next one, too, and invited it to play with a bow and a tail-wiggle, but it didn't move, either.
So he raced to a third.
Oh!
This little clump of rocks had one that wasn't glowing! Bentley pushed his nose onto this, his eyes bright, and tried to push some of his light into it. He knew he had light, after all; he glowed, sometimes, even if he hadn't quite gotten the hang of controlling it all just yet.
Success!
The rock took on a bright golden light. Well--he'd not meant for it to be mismatched. The other ones were blue, or teal. But this one was glowing now, at least! He barked at it, a bright and happy yip, and then bounded off toward another.

Little Ben bounded across Polaris, eyes now fixed on the newest thing he'd spotted: The Spire. It was shiny, it was huge! It glowed and hummed and ignited the world around it in bright light. Bentley's run was more a rabbit series of leaps than a smooth gallop, as he playfully pounced his way over. "Hello!" he called, in between excited yips. "Hi!" Was he talking to the Spire-?
Absolutely.
"Will you be my friend?" he yelled up at it, squeaky little voice full of enthusiastic cheer. "You're big! And pretty!" The puppy came to a halt closer by, and sat down in what would've been the Spire's shadow if it hadn't been giving off blue light. Golden eyes gazed up with adoration, the teal shimmer across his fur casting him all in turquoise. "And look-" Bentley squinted, and tensed himself, hunkering down a little--and then bright yellow light washed out from him. "I can glow, too!"
Happy at this new bond (with a giant rock), he sat there, tail sweeping stone, panting and grinning up at the glowing Spire. It didn't answer, and his ears went back, then forward; surely it was just... thinking? But it still did not reply, and after a few more moments, Ben slowly slid down onto his stomach. He peered up at the Spire, waiting.
"Hello?" he tried again, a little bit less hopeful now.
Was the giant rock ignoring him..?
