The goose wandered in the direction that had been given to her by the Wishing Stone, deep into Canis's pits of bones and stagnant water, where she usually dreaded to walk, but now there was purpose in her steps. She didn't care that the water was splashing dirt onto her pristine feathers, muddying the fluff on her legs and underbelly. She had a one-track mind set on the chrysalis that lay dormant and alone for...who knows how long it had been there?

It took her some time to find it - while Canis wasn't very big, it all kind of looked the same. Stacks of bones and rocks as far as the eye could see - but the directions given to her helped immensely and within a couple of hours of searching, she was gazing upon a very familiar pile of bones.

She didn't wait for anything. As soon as she confirmed that this was the spot, the goose fell upon the rubble, grabbing with her bill and webbed feet, scratching desperately with what little claws she had. She wasn't made for lifting or throwing or physical strength; perhaps in another life she'd trained to be stronger then a goose had any right to be, but the one using all her might to save a child she'd never known or never seen, or really had no idea would even be beneath this pile of old rotten bones, was only just strong enough to get the task done.

It was awkward and tedious and by the time she was done her face was aching and her legs felt like jelly but at last, the chrysalis was before her. It was small, as she'd expected, but she knew that she'd have no way of moving it to a safer location. This would have to do as its temporary nest.

Overjoyed and excited for the child to hatch, the nameless goose immediately began to clear a small space next to it for her, so that she could settle in and watch over the chrysalis until it hatched.
