Pride jolted from sleep at the sound of shouting, coming fully (if blearily) conscious just in time to hear "-ARE YOU, IDIOT?" squalled at some tiny creature's full volume.

It took him a groggy instant to recognize Opie's voice, but the urgency in it--or at least the loudness--sparked fear in him. A spike of unpleasant adrenaline jolted him upright on staggering legs, his hooves clacking on the rock as he turned and tried to hone in on the voice.

He arrived stumbling a little, a few leaping bounds slowing to a fast trot, still blinking away his sleep. It took him a second to register Vivilene there--his confused mind wouldn't, at first--and then Opie.

"Please do not call me an idiot, Opie," he offered softly, and then blinked again as he realized that Vivilene was crying.

So far as he knew, she wasn't a particularly touch-oriented creature; neither was he, for that matter. But right then, fear and concern gripped him and he found himself striding forward, neck outstretched, to try and press the side of his face briefly to her tear-streaked one. It wouldn't do much to absorb the tears, though--if anything, Pride's face was a little oily from the glands before his eyes, but... the gesture was meant to be comforting, not absorbant.

His magic jerked forward without his thinking, too, an embrace of warm thought and concern that reached for Vivilene's mind. Are you all right? Shhh, I am here; what happened?
