Who's the baddest of them all?

Welcome to my wicked world, wicked world!

One can only take so much until they break, and I was determined to get out of this predicament. I was still, quiet, even in my thoughts that I had to accompany as I developed and grew in whatever this is. For once, I was calmed. I was focusing, but focusing on what, exactly? --

Whatever it was, whatever I did, it worked. Within seconds I became consumed in an unbearable heat. Every portion of my body felt as if it was lit ablaze, the first time i've felt this way inside of this tight space. After the heat came a series of "cracks" and slowly, the darkness that I was consumed by vanished as the light poured in.
I moved, somehow slipping with the different portions that cracked and split. As the light continued to seep through, I pushed forwards in the direction of one of the bigger gaps. I struggled at first, but as my radiating body touched the material it slowly crumbled, making my escape easier. Finally i bursted through, falling to a hard stop at the bottom of the very,very small step. I was consumed by the light, and even more consumed by the heat. My lid fluttered, plume tossed in anxiousness and I found myself moving. Moving closer and closer to something that made me feel cooler the close I got, and before long I was face to face with a running monstrosity. I bolted to the edge, stopping for all but a few seconds to peer down at the running monster before me. I saw something.. it was dark, and the only brightness that barely showed through was two colors next to eachother. I tilted my head to each side a few times- this was me, I was looking back at myself. But what exactly was I in this-- my thoughts were yet again cut short, only to be tossed to the side and engulfed in the raging heat that took over my body. I crashed forwards, the heat only disappearing little at a time.


The burning heat was infact replaced by a cooling sensation, only until a new, sharper burn filled in my chest, and I couldn't breathe, only consume more of this monsters...killer. I surfaced many times afterwards, coughing the monster's burning liquid back up, only to swallow down even more. I tumbled and rolled, catching air every few times I could reach the surface. by this time, I no longer felt the burn at all on my body, only in my chest cavity. I was already exhausted from setting myself ablaze and dealing with the pain, and now I was being pulled under by this monster, that only grew colder and colder each second I remained trapped in it's forceful path.

Swim swim swim! It was all so much fun! He'd been around for almost four cycles now and it never got old! He was on his normal rounds from Pisces to Polaris but... something was different. The water was much warmer than normal. How strange... But it felt nice! So who cared why it was warm? The dolphin gave a happy whistle of glee at the warm water before breaching. Gee... it was warm in the air too and... firey? How strange...

Oh well! Nothing to do with him.

He splashed back into the water and chased around a few fish. He managed to catch a couple before something else caught his attention. Something bobbing along and being dragged by the water. Too big to be a fish and too furry to be another sea critter. Was it a land critter? Probably. They were always getting themselves into trouble with the water. The dolphin gave a shrill laugh. Those silly land critters!

But, that was what he was here for!

"Dun-a-nan-a-naaaa! Eeya to the rescuuueeee! With that he kicked his tail fail and swam swiftly after the bobbing wolf pup. He swam until his back was underneath the bobbing pup and his dorsal fin right behind him. After a little push he made sure that he was zooming along with the pup out of the water. He laughed again and called back, "Hai hai! Eeya rescue you land critter! You no swim good, ya? Don't worry! Eeya take you back to shore!" With that he made a turn and easily swam up to the shore where he floated and would let the pup off if he wanted.

i bless the hour that holds your fall, i will kill you all

leon and makyna had said i could wander then return. so that's exactly what i'd been doing, wandering around everywhere i possibly could. and when i approached this area, after avoiding something that seemed extremely dangerous going on in the main area, i couldn't help but shiver and cringe at the river's sight. but what was that peculiar thing in the river? it was..a large object that seemed to be working. but i had no clue what it was doing or how it got there. did someone drop their item? whatever the cause, i was certain i wasn't nearing the river's edge in the least. and i wanted to turn back to find leon and makyna, for fear of the areas around. but just as i pivoted to turn back and head toward pisces, something happened. a commotion, and whirling around only gave me glimpses of things. my eyes winced, narrowed, as i inched toward the water's dangerous edge. then, i saw flashes of paws, muzzle, ears, black in color and sputtering for air just as i did when i was born. i gasped - it was a baby! i sprinted now, young legs pulling and tugging as fast as they could in my pup-state. i skidded to a halt just as something jutted out of the water with the pup on his back, and i howled in protest and fear. i fell on my hind end, struggled to get back to my feet and turned a circle before staring in horror at the sight. jowls were ajar in disbelief as i stared at the weird creature which helped save the pup. a wolf pup! like me! i smiled then.

"a wolf! like me! here, wolfy, let me help you."

i offered, nearing the creatures as i outstretched my neck so that my muzzle came toward the black pup without paws touching the water.

I scrambled to slide off of the creature that saved me. I made it to dry land in just a few bounds, wanting out of the water. My lungs still burned from the water intake, and my breath was somewhat uneasy. I didn't take long to already stray back towards the water. There was another one here.. and she looked like me, but lighter. Wolfy? No.. no I'm Ver-er. Verox-iius I mentioned. I quickly glanced towards the creature that brought me up from the rushing monster. Th-thhank you. Why don't you come up from the water? I questioned. Why didn't he come up here? That water was dangerous.. and cold, and just gross. I wandered closer towards the two. Wh-whhat are you called? I looked to both of them, curious as to what they were and what I should call them. I strayed a little closer to the water and say in on the solid ground in front of the creature that saved me, and close to the other one that offered help too.

Eeya was happy to see that the other made it safely on shore. He gave a happy whistle at the new creature. "My name Eeya! Sill silly Veroooooxius, Eeya no go on land! Eeya swim in underwaters! See?" With that he turned and went back out to the water where it wasn't so shallow. He ducked down below the water with his head then kicked up with his tail fin to show that he had no legs, only a fin. He didn't mind though. The water was nice and he could do neat tricks like breaching. Speaking of which...

Before he went back to the shallows the dolphin kicked his tailfin back under and gained speed before breaching and doing the classic spinner dolphin turn in midair. He made a loud splash as he landed back in the water. The dorsal fin with its blue gem were clearly visible above water as he made his way back to the shallows where the younger creatures were. "You two no swim? Want to learn to swim?" He loved teaching land critters how to swim or even just taking them for rides. Perhaps they'd want to do so.

Veroxious, I mulled the name over and over in my mind and noticed her gem was her eye, and it webbed outward. I couldn't help but stare for the longest time, until the whistling creature's words came back to me. Teach me to swim?! IN THAT? I wanted to buckle and die. I cringed, shaking my head fiercely as I backed away from them both. I looked to the water creature, afraid of his home. But he was kind.

"no, no thank you. That's a scary place."

Contralto tones expelled in certainty, pale lavender eyes wide with fear. I looked back to Veroxious from Eeya and shook my head again for reassurance, just in case there was some confusion about my intense fear of the water.

"I'm Xender.

I offered my own name, timidly looking from one creature to the other.

I watched Eeya swim at ease in the water, I raised a curious brow at him as he spoke to me. I was waiting, slowly coming up with something to say. I looked to the girl, her eyes fixated on me for a moment. Am I really that hideous looking?. It was just a rock that replaced my sight in the right slot, couldn't be all that bad, could it? I glanced back over to Eeya. A mischievous and daring grin was planted across my face. I turned my head and strayed over to Xender. Ya don't have to remind me that i'm not as pretty as you, Xennderr. Flashing my pearly whites at her, I turned and bounded towards the rushing monster once more, this time a little more prepared. Water rose upwards and landed all around myself and towards the other two. Swim, swim yes please, Eeya!. I turned my head to get a better glance at him, noticing his shiny thing, it was brighter than mine, and placed differently. I gave a reassuring nod to Eeya and gave a glance back towards Xender, giving an innocent shrug. I looked back to Eeya, waiting for him to do whatever it was he was going to do with me.

"Is no scary! Is fun! See?" He began to splash the surface of the water with his tail fin just to show how "fun" it was. He giggled and splashed for a few seconds and finally stopped after he --and possibly his companions-- were thoroughly soaked. It seemed that one of them thought it was fun anyway and rushed straight to the water which surged up and created even more splashing! "Yay yay! Much fun, see?" Everything was fun! Even more so when you had brave land critters that would brave the waters.

The dolphin turned and put one fin underneath the wolf, not quite touching her but giving support if she would need it. "We swim! We go aaaaaaallllll the way over there!" He pointed with his beak to the middle of the river. "Then we make much laps and we swim fast!" He bobbed his head up and down excitedly. "Eeya have two fins Xender! Come with us and swim! Eeya even carry you if want!" He offered, not wanting the other canine to miss out on the fun.

i watched as vero seemed to take offense to my unlawful staring, and i was unsure why i was even staring to begin with. bashful, i turned my head away as i gazed down at the rock flooring, ashamed in my inconsiderate action. but she wasn't hideous, she wasn't ugly, i found her to be rather beautiful in every way. but what was it about her bravery, her courage that urged me forth? i followed her, slowly, timidly. the water creature offered me a ride, and i supposed, even if i were to fall inward he would save me just as he did vero. i was so very scared, i was quaking in my furs. but it was alright, because vero was doing it. so i could too. i could do anything, i just needed to remind myself of that. so i inched forward, toward the fin eeya was instructing me to ride. i nodded slowly as i stood over it, careful not to touch him in case he had other plans.

"okay, i'll try it, "

sweet tones expelled uncertainty, struggling to put trust in these two strangers - but yearning to do so just to experience this with them. with her.

I couldn't help but to grin as Xender made her way in too. I tossed my legs lightly as i floated above Eeya's side thing. Swim, Cmon Eeya! Yes Swim! I was already kicking my legs as i floated above her side, slightly moving forwards and backwards as I hovered. I was anxious but excited all at the same time, even though I was just sucked in held beneath the water just a few minutes ago. This was an exciting thing to do, but I realized I was only doing it because the other girl wasn't. She seemed wry of the whole idea, but still she came into the water after she saw me wander in. I was almost amused, but nonetheless I would still do what I intended to here- showoff. Why wouldn't I?
