Appearance: I've decided to keep the little fractal horror looking like a fractal horror! Appearance linked below. Adopters can take more traits from Catalyst if they wish, though!

The creature had been some ten feet long, gleaming a shining silver-white. It most resembled, perhaps, a millipede in that a rounded, segmented shell circled it--but it wrapped around the entire body, top to bottom. Three faintly-glowing orange eyes were positioned at the center of both the top and bottom of the shell, and the back and front of the body were identical: four shearing, perfectly symmetrical pincers.

Oddest of all, however, was the repeating nature of its body: the legs, six per side, seemed to almost be perfect duplicates of the body as a whole. Each was a small segmented limb perfectly proportional to the whole body, each again with three orange eyes at the top, and three at the bottom.

...And each of these legs had, in turn, twelve more, each with their own miniscule eyes--and so forth, until the limbs were so tiny they seemed more to be miniature tendrils than limbs.

Name: Rena

Personality: A soldier at heart, it sees the world through a militaristic lens. It is as devoted to Order as any Drone, but while others may show their devotion through careful propaganda and conversion, bringing home food and resources, or maintenance and construction work, Rena was born to fight for Order. Less sentimental than a certain factory manager, Rena has less need for sincere emotions to help it convince others to join their side. Mercy is rare for it; the safety of the Hive and the destruction of Chaos come first, and its first instinct is to kill the threat unless given orders to the contrary. If talking is needed, it prefers to leave these to Drones better suited for the task while it stands watchfully, prepared to defend its siblings against any danger.

Although it is a bug of few words and efficient actions, it is rather caring and exceedingly gentle with fellow Hive members. If needed, it can attempt to provide comfort or companionship; however, it is not the greatest conversationalist and is better at sending its limited emotions along the Hive's mental link than putting actual words together. In the end, it is most comfortable providing physical aid, mostly in battle situations: being a bodyguard, fighting on the front lines, or carrying a comrade away to safety.

While service of the Hive and devotion to Order is certainly motivation enough for its loyalty, Rena also enjoys hearing more about Mother, Dontacael, and the stories of Order (past and present) both in these caves and elsewhere. It sometimes asks Mother to tell it more of these stories. Jinyi asks for the tragic, heroic, overly sappy ones, but Rena is happy to hear the story of any part of Order. Each one adds to its understanding of the world at large, and it is eager to learn about the history and present of both its own side and its enemy.

Traits taken from Catalyst: mostly the same as the original knifebug, but has one pair of golden eyes positioned at each end (near the knives, with Catalyst's eye ridges) instead of three on the top and bottom. It has a mouth with teeth like Catalyst, but multiple mouths because fractal--one for each pair of pincers. The mouths are connected to each other with a digestive system that can handle just about anything, but Rena will need to spit out any bones and gems like an owl pellet. It's like a double-sided snake with massive pincers surrounding the face.
