She knew, logically, none of her magic right now could do much direct harm. it could blind, it could discover, and even in high concentrations it could burn. but it wasn't enough yet.

she needed to practice, go to the basics, until she could feel herself get strong enough to take on the stuff that could hurt, that could kill. she needs to be certain spells will work for her, otherwise it could be deadly, should she decide to go down the road of ultimate power.

for now though, she sits in polaris,a pile of rocks in front of her. she just needs to practice, that's all.

she holds on now in her paws, willing magic forth with an intense, cold focus.

The stone shines to life immediately, and she smiles. good, good.

She picks up another. maybe she'd make it blue this time?

she thinks maybe when shes done she can take these home, give them to people who need an extra light. forgraves writes at night sometimes, right? maybe he needs more light to see, since his vision is so bad.

she wills her magic forth.

another bright one, blue and beautiful. she's doing good. this is good.

she sets it by the other one.

she picks another one up, and notes with amusement this one has a pretty blue flash to it, and is in a beautiful heartlike shape.

she thinks she'll make this one pink!

she wills her magic forth again, sighing in content.

Nothing, this time. thats fine. she'll try again.

holding the same stone, she tries again.

she has to get better at this. she has to be PERFECT, or atleast near enough to perfect.

pink, god dammit, PINK.

FINALLY, it sparks to life, bebby giggling in joy.

she kisses it in her delight, and sets it by the others.

she thinks about all the things one can do with magic. burn, drown, grow, remember... so many things.

she thinks about what the implications of her knowing earth magic means. could she one day shape the earth beneath her?

though, snapping out of her power hungry trance for a moment, she thinks with delight that she enjoys the soft music.

she picks another one up. green this time?

Something similar to the last time she did one like this.

a blinding flash of white and green light, filling her vision and making it spotty. it lasted for about 7 seconds, a bit shorter than light time, before calming itself, a beautiful ring of light shrouding it's neon green aura.

she grins maniacally. she LOVES neon!!! she sets it by the others, noting with interest how the green overpowers nearly all of their glow.

red this time, she thinks. she likes red. it's a nice color to go with the others!

she feels herself tire, but not nearly as much as last time. she feels the magic in her paws fresh, with strength and a loud ringing in her skull.

she grabs another rock. maybe after this, she can go home?

she wills the magic forward again.

With delight, it glows a bright red, looking awfully festive next to the other colours. with a joyous squeel she scoops them all up and shoves them into her mouth to carry.

time to go home!! she thinks this is enough for today.
