It had been surprisingly easy to convince forgraves to let her do this.

he had mused, idly, about setting up his own shop, but she was more interested in the magic items that were promised. she didn't think she could do much with her own stone again yet, but finding some shouldn't be too hard, right?? people look for stones like that all the time, just. usually for nicer reasons.

Forgraves had been against it, at first, but after a bit of convincing, he relented, although mostly in defeat. they weren't doing anything anyways, all lost like that, and there was a surplus to go around. either she'd get to em and give em to the collector, or it'd probably be another few thousand years before they ever saw the light of day.

that's the thing with rocks, she supposes.

so, out here she looks for rocks, rocks with strong magic. it can't be a lesser, even if that wasn't made atleast a little obvious by the sign, she figured nobody would want one of those anyway for actual magic.

how would she tell the difference? well, by unlocking a new magic spell of course! this seemed to be her specialty.

she would look around for anything that didn't feel stupidly weak. anything stronger would be what she wanted. hopefully, she wouldn't be here all day.

as she padded into the crags, noting the overwhelming smell of mud and lichen and something icky in the distance, she would open up her magic, trying to sense something through the thick mist.

somewhere around her she felt a faint flicker of magic, a tug at her senses, a mild glow, but she ignored it pointedly. she didn't want flickers, she wanted SHINE.

jeez, where were the rocks sense of color?

what was the point if it wasn't even good rocks??? felt like a scam to her, who'd want a dumb weak rock for good magic??

She padded off some distance from the original glow, and tried again. she'd find something better eventually, something WORTH digging out of the ground and getting her paws even muddier.

NOW THAT WAS MORE LIKE IT.

a harsh tug at her senses and a flash of magic in her vision, she ran towards the source with a manic giggle. COME TO MAMA!!" she cheered to herself, digging her claws into the mud to dig for the source.

she'd stop there, but who knows what other items she might want?? why stop at ONE??

she picks up the rock she found and places it snugly between some rock candy and her wings. that things not going anywhere.

she padded around, opening her magic once again.

another flash of light in her vision, stronger than that stupid baby gross one, and she ran towards that one too, digging her claws into the muddy earth to fish it out. she dropped it on her back again when she was done, whistling in satisfaction.

"i could just go until im tired, huh? get MANY things..." she muttered to herself.

She decided she'd do just that! she padded onward, a giddy, manic grin on her face as she did. she was gonna get so much magic stuff!

she just started running around, spamming her magic and seeing what she'd find.

she was only getting stupid baby flickers!! not cool, man!! lets do this again...

She wouldn't stop running in circles, keeping her magic open and searching for SOMETHING, cmon people, lets GO!!

She'd let out a high pitched, giddy laughter at the snag of another stronger flash, practically diving into the mud to get it.

she's finding one thing out about herself, she likes digging!

she grabs it in her paws and puts it with the others.

she thinks she can find a few more, right??

she dives into another pot, reaching her magic down into the earth. cmon, theres gotta be SO much buried under the mud here!!

something sure was buried here, but it SUCKED.

she groaned. she was getting tired!! she needed more good ones!!

she stomped her paw and ran off to find another spot.

she huffed. maybe 3 was enough??? but.. but what if she wanted MORE THAN THREE THINGS.

the curse of greed, or something.

she calmed herself, and focused, opening her magic once more.

she failed to STAY calm, however, when another strong flash of magic met her senses. straight down, too!!

bebby could never play minecraft, because she immediately begins practically nosediving into the mud, digging with wild abandon for more rocks.

once again, its set atop her back among the others. 4 rocks!! how cool.

she pants, exhausted. all the running and digging and magic has made her COMPLETELY pooped.

MAYBE just 1 more. or 2. just to see if she can.

she presses her paw into the dirt, not really up to moving much more than that.

she wheezes as basically almost the rest of her magic seeps out into the earth, flashing brightly with the second strongest magic she's seen today!

she starts digging, panting all the while, and finally has a 5th and final gem to add to her collection. maybe... maybe she's done for now.

she walks to some drier land, before rolling over and dumping the gemstones onto the muddy ground, examining her finds.

she smiles contently and pads home to rest before the shop, rocks in tow.
