Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.

There was no beginning. Her beginning was gaining consciousness as she developed, and within that time, a switch in the brain brought her to gain the mental ability to process time. Something pried at her vision, something that wasn't physical but internal, something that seemed to go hand and hand within her gut, her instinct. Baby blue gaze squinted, slowly revealing the liquid she once floated in, and now closed up the room where she moved. Or, at least, attempted to move. That was her goal, this is what pried her to move, to get out of this tight space that she once was protected in. Move, move, move. Get out of here. As much as she wanted to stay, something prevented that. Perhaps it the shell that threatened to break with just a single kick, or maybe something else that was beyond her knowledge. And so she kicked.
-AFTER ROLL-
Within that time, it was almost incredible to discover that her movements didn't even scratch the surface of the shell. This, however, was for protection circumstances. The primal instinct of devouring a defenseless gembound was almost too great for certain predators, and this was to prevent those worse scenarios from playing out. While kicking, she seemed to tire rather quickly within the span of moving without rest. However, to her successful challenges and opportunities, the core of her survival, seemed to crack around the area where she kicked and pushed with her strength. And so, with her stubborn qualities and instinct to survive she kicked one last time.
It happened to fast, perhaps it was the new found oxygen that had filled her lungs, and not the plasma that she was used to. Maybe it was her vision fading away as fog settled in on the broken shell of her old home. Liquid drained from the opening, and she floated down with it to the bottom of her Chrysalis. But she refused to move beyond that point. The young gembound did not expect what to see, but this was just a mess, not being able to see anything.
A silent hush resided within her auditory perspectives, only the small 'drops' of water reaching the rocks and stones within time. But besides that, her breathing was the only other source of noise keeping her from seeping into insanity. "Sia.." The young girl jumped slightly at the internal voice. Where had it come from? "Sia.. one who brings joy." There it was again! What did the voice want? Did it want her to take on the word as her own name? "S-See.. yah...?" The words spilled out of her mouth, though, she stayed silent a short few minutes after surprising herself as the words echoed off the walls of her shell. "Seeyah... Sia!" She chirped happily, excited to at least say one word in which it was provided.
Polaris had been invaded by a massive beast of fire, Azazel had heard. A scaly monster far larger than any creature ever to have roamed the caves. A dragon. He had only heard tales of them, save for one account of a furry dragon Gembound that wandered about. Yet, he didn't seem to be told as a fire-breathing warmonger. The monstrosity lurking in Polaris was far greater than that. The whole core room was blazing hot... and he could feel the heat even in this tunnel. It radiated off the stone in waves, heat shimmers in the air from molecules constantly shifting and warping. The Bone King would not have any desire to face such a mighty beast. His lungs were so sensitive to chemicals, and there would be no doubt that smoke would be rising in the room. He had truly discovered fire when he sparred against Leon the one time and he had used char on him. The smokescreen was suffocating... painful. The Ave could barely breathe, even here. The air was stifling hot in this tunnel.
Azazel was only exploring and sought out at least a little peek at Polaris... but he got something else. A small chrysalis lay in shards upon the floor, with some bits intact. Beads of plasma were strewn about, the liquid seeping into the stone and giving the area a strong smell of birth, one that even Azazel could scent, even with terrible sense of smell. A newly born Gembound. There were no voices, showing there were no others around. Great wings beat as Azazel glided along the top of the cave, back feathers barely grazing the stone between beats. Carmine eyes glanced downwards at a small creature, one as white as ermine. What could it be?
Slowing down his wing beats to create drag, the Ave stretched time a little by descending at an easy pace, as not to appear predatory over this newborn babe. Soon, a click! click! of talons echoed off the cave walls as he waddled closer to the shell. Carmine eyes were curious, blinking only once as he lowered his ivory crown to get a closer look at what was within the shimmering blue chrysalis. A fluffy white fox kit. Azazel's heart melted, and he could only whisper a few words, "Hello... little one." Suddenly, he could hear the small being speak, a happy chirrup of some sound. It took a few moments for Azazel to finally realize what she had said. Her name. "Sia," he mused, "Beautiful name..."
Raising his right wing, he motioned at himself and cawed out, "Azazel."

Curiosity had no bounds to the young girl, as well, she was the definition of inquisitive within this situation. There were a few twitches in her limbs as the muscles contracted and relaxed for the first times, though, Sia didn't move voluntarily on her own will. A single, long breath would dwell from her lungs and into the atmosphere as she relaxed into her shell. Survival was crucial at this simplistic age, and with her rather large paws and slim, newly formed legs, she was not able to get away from predatory animals as fast as where a experienced being would be. She squinted slightly, confused as to why her eyes adjusted so quickly without her noticing the difference to the environment, but she shook the confusion away quite timidly as time went on. And time did go on. Quite literally, actually, it seemed to be hours but only was minutes, but the thing was that she couldn't exactly process time with her young, undeveloped mind.
A shadow cast upon the broken chrysalis, blocking any light from entering the colored glass like structure, but for a split second, she tensed. Something was here. Downy tail curling inwards to lay against her small stomach in the act of fright. It was difficult not to whine, but this was survival, and she just couldn't help it. The mist settled to reveal a rather slim figure, much bigger than her, to be fair. He was much silkier in retrospect of her rather fluffy appearance. The new found presence was much scarier on his facial region. "Pwease.. dun hurt me.." her voice was weak, as she was rather raw with her speech. It was noticed that she was frightened by the creature in front of her. "Hello... little one." Sia jumped slightly, fur on end. However, she stayed silent, staring intently at the individual.
"Sia, beautiful name..." She blinked slightly. "Ah... Awoozle?.." That wasn't right, but who cares? Who knew this pair would be so tight knitted in the future?
Oh. She was so very small! Sia looked so fragile, soft and delicate like a little flower. White as ermine, the fox kit stood out against the shell she once lay dormant in, just as Azazel had four cycles ago. Those enchanting blue eyes quivered in fear, and the girl released a small whimper to feign weakness and try to survive. Already born with instinct. For those in the caves, it seemed instinct did not matter. Some Gembound simply did not have a sense of danger. The Bone King would be sure that Sia would be safe. Tremors racked the small kit, and she whimpered out a plea against harm. Azazel simply smiled, putting his head down for a moment to remove the cat skull that lay upon his crown then looked back down at the kit. "Why would I hurt you? You are so adorable!" and Azazel could not deny the fact that he was absolutely smitten with this little child.
Hearing Sia try to pronounce his name was just heart-melting. Such a cute voice. Azazel felt as if his heart was going to explode from the overloading of adorableness. "Close enough." Oh, he couldn't take it anymore. The fox kit was so tiny and so nice. "You don't need to be afraid of me. I'll protect you. Keep you safe. Promise." The Bone King scooted a little closer, laying on his belly and tucking his legs as if he were a chicken. Could she hang on? Would she mind being carried? It was obvious she would need some food, and all around was nothing but strange rock formations. He could swiftly make way through Pisces, and not be noticed... stopping in Orion perhaps to catch a meal for Sia and gaze at the brilliant quartz crystals in the room. Maybe even... perhaps. A little idea sparked in his mind, but he kept it quiet for now. For now, he looked at the girl. "Do you want to get something to eat?"

No matter what he said, or how he said it, she couldn't exactly grasp onto his intelligent words no matter how hard she tried. The only response she would and could give was a tilt of the head. Though, she understood the basic words and had basic intelligence. She had expected a blow to her head, or a painful hit since it wouldn't had taken much for 'Azazel' to take her life away if he so pleased. What she didn't expect was for him to lean down and take off the skull that rather naturally fused with his face. "Why would I hurt you? You are so adorable!" Her tremors ceased for a quick moment, however she was still uncertain in his presence. Adorable? What did that mean? She wanted to know! Though, she sensed it was good. Once more, she relaxed slightly, fur lying flat against flesh. The skull was what had frightened her the most, and since that was removed a short time after, she found a bit more of a good aura radiating off of the vulture.
"Close enough." Her tail thumped on the broken shell lightly, eyes widening slightly in the new found ego that was boosted by his praise. "Danks!" She cried, shortly after letting on a large smile. Sia was definitely warming up to Azazel much more quickly then she was letting on originally. "You don't need to be afraid of me. I'll protect you. Keep you safe. Promise." Ears curled at his smooth voice that turned casually gruff with the following words. She was surprised at the promise, but she let it slide with the aura that was bouncing off in waves. Growing more comfortable now with the final words of offering, she watched with friendly eyes that still held the tinge of curiosity and caution as he laid against the stone. At his words however, it was quite ironic as her stomach grumbled with agreement to his statement. "Do you want to get something to eat?" Sia giggled and reluctantly nodded in agreement. "Yes pwease!"
He constantly forgot that he was speaking to a child, and likely overwhelming her with his speech. Her own speech seemed rather raw and unused. With time, she would definitely have a beautiful little voice, though, Azazel knew. The Bone King would allow his skull to clatter on the floor, quietly scooting it behind him. The ivory crown seemed to frighten some at first sight. Azazel supposed a bird wearing a skull would be rather intimidating... Yes.
"Danks!" Oh, and now Azazel's heart was melting once again. The Bone King could not simply hold back a smile and he fluffed his feathers outwardly to try and hide his cuteness overload. He hoped that Sia did trust him, because he truly did want to help her survive. There were so few Gembound in this cave that were good, pure, and joyful. Such goodness couldn't be tainted, but it was just the matter that if she survived to spread that love around. Being so close to Polaris made the Ave a little jumpy. He didn't like the thought of the girl being so close to... well, an actual dragon. From the tales and rumors, that beast was a monster and ruthless to the Gembound of the cave. He did not want to cut through Pisces, so maybe he would have to venture into Polaris just long enough to get into the tunnel that led to Orion. These caves were so very dangerous, nowadays. Azazel would figure it out.
For now, there were more important matters to attend to. At least a frugal meal from Orion, which was the closest open cave that had yet to be claimed by some group or giant monster. Afterwards, he could surely show Sia the beauty of the Room of Stars... and the idea for his gift still buzzed within his head. Now, it was a matter of how he would get her there. From how she had not moved from her shell yet, he made the assumption that she wasn't quite steady on her feet, yet. So, Azazel would have to fly her there, but how would she prefer it? Last time he carried a kit or a pup, he had carried Saudade by the scruff, which he had not minded. Well, he had really enjoyed flying. And this girl was small and light, so Azazel could make sure he didn't drop her. Oh, no. I would never dare! It would be an easy flight, least to say. After some thought, he finally chirped, "Do you want to sit on my back, or do you want me to carry you? It's gonna be a quick little flight."

Sia, who's name was mostly noted for the elegant ring to it, help absolutely no elegance in her physical day to day life, or at the moment. Fur now flattened to the relaxed state, she continually looked over Azazel. He didn't look like her nor did he smell like her. But that was partially the fact that he was much more experienced and older then she was. However she didn't exactly understand the time perspective and 'age', well, at least not at this time. She flicked her gaze towards the remnants of the glass shards of gem. This is where she developed and now it was shards of unknown sources. Since the sides were shattered and in many different spots, she was rather swift to move to the side and roll upon her side. Her goal was to close the distance from the two, but would she succeed? Paws were rather large for her short, stubby legs, and within the time of her tripping over her paws, she seemingly fell upon her face. "Oof!" Rump raised from the cold, hard ground, and paws sprawled out to her sides. "Ow.." This wasn't planned at all, actually. She blinked, and struggled to regain her steps, her weight and her balance.
Letting her tongue hang out in the retrospect and illusion of a concentrated expression. Sia had seen Azazel take fluid steps, and for a little girl, it wasn't odd for youngsters to look up to adult figures. "O-ow... do dat?" She stumbled of her words just like she tumbled of her paws. Though, after a while of struggling, she simply gave up with a harsh sigh and exhaled. With a tongue out from tainted lips against ivory, wet fur, she motioned towards his talons, which, in her vision, were almost as fluffy as she.
Sia had a basic understanding of the language she was born into, as if she was truly alive and walking around and actually learning within the long and dreary month she was being developed. "Do you want to sit on my back, or do you want me to carry you? It's gonna be a quick little flight." If he had the aura of a bad guy, Sia would not have agreed to this statement, which would soon be a physical flight. "Cawwy!" She cried followed by a short giggled.

The great bird watched the little girl relax, vibrant cyan gaze looking around in the remnants of what she once called home... her chrysalis. She missed it. Azazel knew that feeling so very well. Wouldn't it be so nice to just simply reside in one place? Always warm... comfortable... safe. Origin Caves was a harsh domain for even those bound to gemstones. Even with the aid of their gemstones, Gembound always had difficulty surviving among stone, stone, and more stone. Was there anything more than stone in this cave? Was there more than the cave? Was there... an infinite world above? Azazel would discover it, someday, if there was. He was sure of it.
The Bone King had been so caught up in reminiscing that he didn't notice that Sia was attempting to walk. "Oof!" Those paws were far too large for her legs to walk normally quite yet. For a moment, the Ave looked down at his own talons. He didn't know what it was like to have four legs. He just had two, and his wings. Could having four appendages be so different from having just two? Or maybe... his wings were like legs, right? Really long legs? "Right, left. Back right, back left..." he murmured, bowing down a little and dropping the hand sections of them to the ground, shifting so that his wings kind of folded like a wyvern's would, lightly touching the ground so he wouldn't bruise his bones. Birds were definitely not meant to walk like this. Soon, Azazel was crawling along the cave floor, trying desperately to mock how most four-legged critters walked. "Okay, okay. Um. Right foot... left foot... back right... left right. I think this is how it goes." It seemed about right. He looked to Sia, and waited until she followed his example or tried to.

She watched with all rounded curiosity. It vibrated off of her small, awkward stature in happiness and inquisitiveness. With her rump high in the air, and paws sprawled outwards, she seemed to possess the childish behavior, though, it wasn't odd as, she was indeed a child in some ways. Sia stared at Azazel for a moment, eyeing his every movement with skeptical vision. Blue eyes cast a hazed glow as shadows of his movement rolled by, and she found herself giggling as he lowered himself onto the ground, before confusion settled within her developing brain. Flicking an ear, she shook her head. This was silly. "Right, left, back right, back left." And so, she followed the instructions and attempted the procedure.
-after roll-
And with every attempt, she seemed to fail. A exaggerated breath left her lips, for the millionth time. She wanted to walk, she wanted to fly, she wanted sprint and run and play around and not fall every single time. Practice made perfect, and so, she continued to try -- only to fail once more. " 'ive up!" She cried hastily, a pout forming onto her expression. "Harrrrrr..Harrrd? Hard!" Her squeaky voice explained as she quite honestly deflated onto the stone ground.

Sia watched his every move intently, and she would try to mimic them herself. Unfortunately, it looked like she was not quite ready to walk on her own. With a small thump, the arctic fox kit tumbled down onto the floor and huffed indignantly. This was where he had to hold his breath a little bit and keep his heart from exploding from the cuteness. Finally, he swallowed the cuteness shock and shook his head. "It's okay. I fell a lot, too. I was wee high!" Azazel opened a wing a little and tried to show how big he had been when he first emerged. Well, he wasn't sure exactly how big he was. All he knew was that he was a ball of downy fluff. A cute one. Cuteness ran in all Gembound children, it seemed. Or most? He had yet to see an ugly baby.
Babies could not be ugly. It was impossible.
He got an answer to carry or ride, and Sia wanted to be carried. Probably safest, he presumed. Not a lot of Gembound had feet good for gripping things. So far, he had only seen primates and some larger birds with those traits. "Alright, I'll take you to my home. But first, I wanna show you a place, Sia." Smiling, he opened his great dark expanse of wings and flapped them hard, lifting himself into the air and picking up the fox kit carefully, cradling her in his talons/feet. Soon, he was moving swiftly down the tunnels, making his way towards a special room of stars.
