Asira knew not to stray too far from home, as there were many dangers out of Orion. She vaguely understood the threat of something called Order, though didn't fully grasp the meaning of it. But it didn't matter! Through her young eyes, Orion was a vast space for her to explore, a cave filled with endless opportunities and adventures. The idea of there being other caves as well to investigate was not tempting enough for her to act upon the impulse when there were so many things to do in her home cave. Not to mention, her mind could not yet fully grasp the sheer scale of everything. Asira was young and naive, eyes forever shining with anticipation and excitement for what new things she may find that day. An interesting lesser just around the corner? A mysterious rock? Perhaps even another gembound? The possibilities were endless!

Currently, she had found herself an empty space some distance away from the garden. She did not want to accidently interfere with any of the plants, yet also didn't want to wander too far. Her boldness had not yet overpowered the inherent caution that came with straying too far from her parents.

Asira had done quite enough poking around for the day, and decided instead to investigate something that required not much walking around at all. Magic. Now, this was not something she could reliably draw upon just yet, but she did understand the basics of how it felt and what it did. Triggering it was another matter.

She focused very hard on the ground in front of her, trying to imagine the effects of her magic. There was a small tingling sensation- yes! She knew the feeling! And it spread from her antler through her body, and then... the pebbles in front of her were cleared away with an unseen force. She had done it! Asira jumped in excitement, feeling very happy at the achievement.

Cadenza had been keeping to the ground for all that the skies called to them. To them, though they were very much a magic user, plenty of things were magical without actually being magic, and many of those things were landbound. Most magical in their life was their children, of course, of which there were two more as of this cycle.

And it seemed one of their children was figuring out the more literal kind of magic, they thought as they gazed adoringly at Asira. Most of their children with magic had started with this very kind of spell, and they wondered why that was, though there was nothing wrong with the spell, especially when used against inanimate objects.

"What a wondrous display of magic, Asira," Cadenza warmly told their daughter as they approached. "My wondrous daughter," They fondly regarded the little dragon-winged lion cub hybrid.

"How were your explorations today, dear one?" Cadenza inquired. They had been watching, of course, but they delighted in hearing the tales from their children's own voices. It was something special, something magical.

Yes, there was a great deal of magic in Cadenza's life, the best of which not even the literal kind.

Although she was not very skilled at tracking, it didn't take long for her to pick up upon Cadenza's familiar scent. She turned around, face immediately brightening at the sight of her parent. "Ca-den-za!" she sounded out, stumbling over her own paws as she ran to meet them. Asira brightened up even more at the praise. "Thanks! I have been... practicing!" her voice held hints of the musical tone that she had inherited from the dragon, though her voice seemed to be perpetually energetic.

"Fun! I looked at- quartz?" whatever those clusters of crystals in Orion were called. "Shiny! And I can see me in them!" That had been very cool. Asira had never had the chance to really see herself in that way before. Though she wasn't sure if she liked what she saw or not, or if she was even sure what she had seen. Some of her reflections in the quartz were different depending on which ones she looked into. "Is quartz good? Does it... do stuff?" Asira meant in the same way that the plants in the garden Sprig tended to could grow and have good stuff to eat, she wondered if the quartz did anything similar. Or were they always like that? She almost felt sad for the stones if they were still and did nothing. Did stones have feelings?
