A Scavenger's Reward

Centaurus had once more been reshaped at the shifting of a Cycle.

It had become like a desert, but not the sort one found in Hydra; there were no sweeps of towering dunes or rugged canyons, no marshes and salt flats. Instead, the land was flat, very warm, populated only by sparse hints of scrub brush and cacti. The morning mists were thin, at best; what had been a river atop the Breach a mere two cycles past was now only a thin trickle of a creek. The 'sky' above was bright, with only occasional clouds, and the only creatures to be found were alien and reptilian, mostly hiding in whatever shade offered or occasionally basking in the warmth.

The Shapers had finished their work. The Barracks were rebuilt, restocked; the Merchant had probably had a hand in this, but their shelves now held liquor and food once more, and fresh bedding--mostly blankets atop hanging hammocks or beds carved into the stone--along with misshapen clothing and thick rugs now featured throughout. Fresh light fixtures enclosed the orbs, making it all look more fancy than elsewhere in the caves, though the way they played cards and raucously joked in their free time was anything but fancy.

Right now, a group of Shapers were now lounging around a table, drinking, smoking and playing poker.

"Y'know," one said, sitting back in a stone chair. "Ain't been too many through here."
"Hate how quiet it is. All this hard work and for what-?"
"Well, it's only been one hundred and eleven cycles since they all woke up. That's what he said, anyway. Maybe do somethin' special?"
"One-one-one? Aight. I'll ask him if he's got anything good. Or ask Algol-... no, that'd be fuckin' mean," and this one laughed uproariously. A few slapped their thighs, laughing with him. "But we can set out three special things for 'em to find. If they come," he added, with a shrug.

Centaurus always has special rewards seeded throughout for characters to find. These are generally basic enchanted items, surface gifts, and lost stones of special creatures.

For July, in honor of our 111th Cycle, there are three more powerful, named Enchanted Items to be found in Centaurus.

Players whose characters attempt to find these items should post a medium or longer thread, with at least three successful search attempts. All characters will receive rewards, but the first three to complete a successful search (in real time, not via post date/IC time!) will find the special Enchanted Items for this month. GM tag for results!

These three rewards are limited to one per player. Threads searching for these items should only include the character who is searching, to keep it fair re: thread length.
