Andy hobbled along slowly. His legs weren't quite used to dragging around his body yet, and his small paws were sore from travel. He had not ventured very far from where he had first emerged from his chrysalis, having only shuffled his way into this tunnel a few minutes prior. To get here from his chrysalis, he had to spend what felt like hours slowly walking down the south wall of Pisces.
Andy sniffled as he plodded along, his damp fur— Wet from the goo in his chrysalis as well as the occasional slip into a puddle— weighing him down. He desperately wanted to lay down and rest, but something urged him onwards. His claws tapped against the stone floors, in rhythm with the sound of droplets splashing into puddles. He was familiar with the sound— It had been his music when he was in his chrysalis, he had listened to it for his whole life.
The little Civet audibly sighed as he came to a complete stop and stared, disgruntled, at the mess of caves up ahead. The closest one had muddy paw prints and other tracks leading in and out, and a putrid smell wafted outwards from the insides. Up ahead, though, he could see the smallest hint of green. A color he was well and familiar with— The safe color of his chrysalis.
Andy’s walk was more energetic now, carrying himself with head held high and a grin forming at his mouth. He did his best to “run” but it was more of a hopping-hobble, and he was slowly approaching the hole in the side of the cavern.
He let out a surprised squeak as his paws hit the ground and instead of damp rock and dirt, it was.. Damp moss. Andy had seen plenty of this plant back in Pisces, but this moss seemed considerably drier and much more vibrant. He followed the vegetation trail back to the large opening much larger than himself. Andy thought nothing of the thin wisps of white that hung off the bent trees in the opening, as he walked slowly inside, wonder in his eyes.
(oorp note: andy has not gone inside yet + this writing sucks I need lessons)
