KRAKARAK
"my precious"

Krakarak knew his wings would grow big enough to allow him to fly one day but before that would happen he needed to exercise them. To do that he needed a place with a lot of wind... He knew just the place.

Traveling further through the Southwest Quadrant he happened upon Monoceros. The winds here were strong and in his head he knew they would lend him strength to fly... or get close to flying anyway. His strong break clacked together with pleasure as he gazed around the room. There were ledges up top and he wondered if there were gems up there. The idea of collecting shinies sent a thrill of pleasure up the raven's darkened spine. "Krak Krak!" The bird called out loudly as he strutted around.

He had to prepare himself for this... he had to get ready and go. He opened his wings and attempted to life into the air and go towards a ledge high in the air. The result was him being thrown flat on his face with a particularly large gust. He huffed in annoyance and picked himself up, eyes set with determination on the ledge. He would get up there! The ledge wasn't even that high. Lower than the ones from The Platforms but still high enough to be hiding goodies and high enough to protect him should anything try to attack.

Setting his beak in a determined grimace he took off at a running start and spread his small wings outward their full length. He pulled on magic that he didn't know he had to try and give him a little boost with the wind.

Success! He felt his own magic coupled with the wind lift beneath his wings and speed him up and up and up all the way to the ledge! He landed clumsily but still managed to stay up. "Krakarak! I did it! Krak Krak!" He boasted proudly as he strutted back and forth. He looked over the edge of the rather small ledge to the ground below. He had such a good view up here! Why he could even see if someone were to walk in... in fact... he thought someone was...

Speech Thoughts

Lost. Again. She had been wandering around since Tamelyn had ran off. She had first thought about following the silly little deer to wherever it was she was going, but something else pulled her off into a different direction. Something that simply tugged at her very being. It was a familiar sensation. One she felt the moment she first met Tamelyn. Arkrael's little black nose was held close to the cave's floor sniffing wildly at the scent that just barely remained, yet slowly began to become stronger and stronger the further she got in her traveling. Coming into a new chasm Arkrael pulled to a complete stop as her head lifted up quickly to stare in wander. She could feel the wind moving, rushing pass her "Wooow," she awed as she could hear the wind moving quickly through the room.

Slowly she took a few more steps in, but when a harsh gust suddenly knocked into her she gave a loud yelp and thudded hard on her shoulder. Her hackles bristled instantly as the front of her puppy fangs quickly came into view with a little puppy snarl rumbling in her chest. Quickly she brought herself back up to her paws and braced herself where she stood. No silly wind was going to knock her down again! She snapped her little jowls at the air, almost as if she was going to bite it, but as a strange sound echoed withing the room her ears pushed forward instantly. "Hello?" She murmured as her multi-colored eyes quickly darted around the dark room.

With slow, but sure steps, Arkrael moved further into the room. Her fur flying all over the place and dancing chaotically with the wind that was howling through. Something strange vibrated in her very being and she froze to her spot as she looked around anxiously. Someone had to be here. Her body shivered as the strange sensation ran down her spine, chilling the bones as she suddenly felt a little light headed.

Post Roll Edit:

A sharp snap echoed through the room and a pained yelp escaped the little she-pup as pressure in her skull began to increase to an extreme pain. Arkrael sunk down to lay on her belly as her paws moved to rest over her head in an attempt to stop the sudden pain with a low whimper. Her tail tucked, unsure of what had caused the sudden pain within her head as she was very unaware of the low vibration within the gem upon her chest.

Krak's eyes narrowed as he stared intently at the entrance. Just as he thought someone else walked in, a four-legged someone. This four-legged someone was different than Geir, larger, but Krak was unafraid. He had the high ground and it was on the low, a disadvantage. This fact made Krakarak feel braver than he should have.

When the creature called out he remained silent, watching and debating on what he should do. Once more he looked down and saw the wolf lying on the ground with paws on ears... or so it looked. Why was it doing that? He didn't know. Was it scared? Perhaps he should have a bit of fun and scare it a bit more. Sniggering to himself the crow stepped back on the ledge and cast around for a stone, not a large one, just one that would get the wolf's attention. He found a small rock, one that was just large enough to fit in his talons and he threw it. If it hit the wolf great, if it didn't great. He just wanted to scare the creature. After all, jokes were always fun.

He hopped backwards after the stone was thrown to wait briefly on his results. After a minute or two of silence he scraped his talons on the ledge, creating an eerie and bloodcurling noise on the stone ledge. Oh, this was great fun!

"Speech" Thoughts
When the pain in her skull finally subsided, Arkrael let out a big sigh and slowly pushed her front half up with her paws. It didn't always give her bad pains in her head when her magic wouldn't work, but Arkrael was definitely not fond of it when it did. A strange whooshing sound suddenly caught her attention and before she could even move to look and see what it was something smacked right against her ear and she practically yowled and flew up to her feet. Of course this really didn't go well as another gust of wind went rushing by and swept her right back down onto her shoulder and she whined a bit.

Pushing herself up to her paws once again, Arkrael gave a low puppy like snarl. That was, at least, until she heard the sound that seemed to petrify her very being. Her fear soon resulted in her becoming angry and the top of her nose quickly scrunched up and exposed all of her sharp pearly whites. "That hurt!" She barked loudly, trying to be heard over the wind. She hoped there was someone here. Someone who was just messing with her. Yet there was still that five percent where she was scared it was probably something a little worse. Though the last time she tried to use her magic it had given her a very painful headache, but she knew if she didn't try again then she was unsure if she would ever find out what was going on.

She felt it within her at first. The soft vibration that emitted from the stone upon her chest. It grew in intensity, but not too terribly much and just barely. It was faint. So faint she barely noticed it, but the sensation was there regardless. Her heterochromia eyes shot up towards the ledges in the room. Every last bit of her fur standing on end and bristled. "Hey! I know you're there!" She called out almost aggressively. She wasn't sure which ledge this gembound was on. She was only able to find the general location of it, but that was all she needed. "Why don't you show yourself instead of hiding like a baby!"

Ha! That silly wolf! His plan was working like a charm! The raven couldn't help it anymore, a low cackle emitted from his beak as he laughed at the wolf's misfortune. That silly wolfy! His rock must have hit the female because he heard her say it hurt just barely over the wind of the cave. Perhaps he could get another rock or something to throw at her... Or maybe he could do something else.

Then she called out that she knew he was there. Busted!

But did she know where he was? The raven tip-clawed closer to the edge of the ledge and peeked over. She wasn't looking exactly at him, but near him. So that meant that she didn't know. Then, she called him a baby. He was no baby! She was the baby! Irately the raven puffed up then fluttered into the air in a fit of rage. "I no baby! Krak Krak! You da baby!" Whelp, if she didn't know where he was now then she sure knew now. Angrily the raven picked up another rock and chucked it at the female. "Take that baby! Krakarak!"

"Speech" Thoughts
The voice cried out in anger, quickly drawing the she-pups attention and heterochromia eyes lashed up to the ledges above. Her fangs bared as the black feathered creature hopped into view. "You're the one hiding! Ya big baby!" She snapped loudly, all of her fur beginning to stand on end and bristle up. Her breath sucked in when she saw the bird move and before she could even move she heard the swift 'swooshing' noise once again.

Within a blink of an eye something had struck her right in her right eye. Jolting terrible pain right down to the tip of her tail and a loud painful howl escaped the wolf as she shook her head. The words of the bird were unheard as Arkrael yelped and yipped. Swinging her head side to side as she sunk down onto the ground. Ears pressed back down against her skull, nearly disappearing into her fur as a single paw was lifted to cover her injured eye. Whimpers escaped her as she soon realized she could not open her eye. Pain racked her body, causing almost all of her to shake with the pain.

Soon enough the pain brought a new emotion to her. Quickly overwhelming the shocks of hurt. Anger. It swallowed her up. Roaring it's head deep in her soul and a loud, violent snarl began to vibrate within Arkrael's chest. Even her gem stone upon her chest began to react, vibrating and humming in the tell-tale signs of magicka in the works.

It all happened much too quickly for Arkrael to process. She had began to rise up to her feet and all the while strange minerals began to shift and move, racing towards the now angry she-pup. Small tendril lines of the ore began to lift up from the ground and rocks that were near Arkrael and slowly began to cling to her body and fur. The metal ore type substance began at her face. Encasing the top of her skull and slowly building down around her now injured eye. Small points began to gather at the top of the helm just in front of the inner sides of her ears, rounding off at the tip that just barely shaped over the top. More and more minerals began to swarm around her, leaving the same substance to cover just along her spine, just barely starting to reach it's way down the top of her tail, and even some in front of her ankles that just barely started to cover the top of her paws.

Her hackles bristled as she stared with her single, obsidian eye up at the bird. She had never felt so much anger in her before. Then again, she had never been hurt so badly either. Tears had welled up in her still good eye, causing the black orbs to glisten and catch light a lot better giving the thing a much more sinister looking appearance. "That hurt!!" She snarled louder than she ever had. Yet she stood where she was, unsure how to handle this as the pain still throbbed in her eye and skull.

Well, she had a point. He was the one hiding, not she. A thought occurred to Krakarak that he could fly down there and meet the wolf face to face but he wasn't about to give up a vantage point so easily. Cowards lived to see another day, not brave ravens who met the enemy face to face. He could easily throw rocks from his perch and torment her and there was not a thing she could do about it! Needless to say, he had no intention of going down to her.

The next rock he threw sailed downwards towards the wolf and struck her in the eye, causing her to release a howl of pain. The raven felt absolutely no sympathy and gave a loud cackling laugh. "Haha! Gotcha, baby!" He hopped up and down, fluttering his wings as he stared maliciously at her. "You can't fly! You can't get me! Krakarakarak!" He taunted nastily. He only stopped his taunting when something strange began to happen. Her gem started to glow and rocks began to collect to her in some sort of strange armor or something... The raven stopped his hopping and crouched down nervously. Perhaps she didn't need to fly to get him.

He waited nervously to see if she would launch a stone back at him but she didn't. The wolf only glared up at him, appearing to have no way of retaliation. So his hopping and cackling started right back up again. "Can't get me! Can't get me!" He croaked in an out-of-tune singsong voice. He flapped his wings and released a loud "KRAW" from his mouth as he began to use one of his spells. This one would create a gust of wind to hopefully throw the female off balance or at the very least throw up a little dust to mess with her.

"Speech" Thoughts
His persistent laughing was digging deeper beneath Arkrael's fur. Until it was reaching down enough to irritate her very flesh and make it start to itch with annoyance. She would not tolerate this...this disrespect! Her lips pulled back, exposing the front of her sharp puppy incisors. A loud bark escaped her as she just about made her way to run over to the ledge Krakarak was on, but when she felt the wind pick up around her she held her stance. Legs spread wide to support her as the gust kicked up around her. Arkrael quickly closed her eyes, feeling the dirt around her paws start to kick. Or well, she closed one of them. The other was painfully swollen shut. Luckily this new armor that adorned her would keep it protected even against the flying dust.

Once she was sure the gust had settled down back to normal the pup swung her head back up and growled lowly. A familiar sensation coursed through her. Her stone beginning to hum and vibrate against her chest. Within a moments breath a sharp crack echoed through the room. Sharp lines began to streak up the side of the ledge, causing the ledge to crack enough to send pieces jutting out here and there. It was her golden ticket right up to the bird. She was very confident that she could easily climb her way up it.

Without a second thought about it Arkrael sprinted for the side of the ledge and made her first leap up onto the piece of rock that jutted out from it's side. Leap after leap she scaled the ledge. Her anger over being hurt and the disrespect this bird was showing fueling her to the point it seemed rather easy to do for a young pup who was still growing. With one more jump Arkrael cleared over the edge of the ledge.

The moment her paws touched the top of that ledge, Arkreal put on another burst of speed. She raced for the bird, refusing to let him get away. The metal armor that still clung to her was slowly starting to chip away, retuning to it's original form as it collided back to the ground. It wasn't long before she was upon the small black bird and she gave off the impression she was going to sink her teeth right into the thing! Yet, she would not. Instead she made to jump at him, landed just behind him...and plopped her rump right down upon the bird back. Squishing him down against the ground so that he may not get away or throw anymore rocks that could hurt her.

"Can't get up here, huh?" She grumbled as a low growl vibrated lightly in her throat. She didn't want to hurt him. She didn't want him to hurt her. She had just been here to explore. Maybe find someone else who would share an adventure and possibly become friends with. Her luck had been the worst in that aspect. Instead she got a mean bird who enjoyed throwing stones at people. She would make sure he wouldn't do so again! It was rude and painful. She sniffed indignantly as she had the urge to paw at her injured eye, but kept herself from doing so.

Krakarak saw the wolf bare her fangs at him but it only served to amuse him further. Silly wolf! Threats wouldn't bother him! He knew she couldn't do a thing and this was proved further when the wind caught her. He felt so cocky now that the bird turned and started to shake his tail feathers at her in a taunt. Ha ha! Just what could she do? Nothing! Nothing at--

Then he felt her retaliation.

A crack reverberated throughout the room and he felt the platform he was on give a slight shudder. Was it going to fall? Oh no! He couldn't fly! Not yet anyway and if he glided down to the ledge with the wolf she would rip him to shreds! Uh oh! He looked around frantically and saw his saving grace. Another platform a little ways away that he could probably glide to. He spread his wings, noticing that the wolf was moving quickly towards him. A frantic caw escaped his beak as he spread his wings and leaped...

Only to fall to the ground on his face. In the shift of the platform a little crack had opened up and unknown to him his amethyst talon had become stuck in it. Before he could pick himself up to have another go he felt the weight on his back. "KRA--" He yelled in alarm. He tried to thrash about to free himself but was securely tucked under the wolf's hindquarters. "Kraaa...." He croaked in dismay when he realized that he could go nowhere. He was at the wolf's mercy. Great! He just had to throw rocks at the thing to antagonize it, didn't he...

"Mercy! Krak Krak! Krakarak was only joking! He knew the mighty wolf could get up on his ledge." If there was one thing he was good at it was trying to butter someone up and be a suck up. Now that he was trapped tough words and taunts would do him no good. "Please please, mercy! You're killing Krakarak!" He croaked out in his most pitiful voice. The wolf wasn't hurting him at all, sure it was a little uncomfortable but he liked to play things up as more than they really were. Perhaps he could play on some sympathy of the wolf... even though he'd given her none earlier.

Oh how the mighty had fallen.

"Speech" Thoughts
Karakarak. It was an interesting and unique name. Arkrael would have mentioned that it was rather appealing to hear, but this bird would not be given such compliments. He kept squawking. Begging for her mercy and how she was just killing him. A loud snort escaped the she-pup as she merely sat there unmoving. Of course, her attention for that moment was watching as the armor that had gathered over her body was slowly falling apart and spilling back into the ground, almost seemingly absorbing right back into the ground she now sat on. She had never seen that one before. If she were in a different situation she would be all the more excited to have discovered something new she could do with her magic, but alas she was here. Sitting on top of a bird whom had dared show such disrespect and injure her eye on top of that.

Mighty Wolf

The word seemed to ring out through her thoughts only moments after it had been squawked out by the bird she sat on. Of course she was mighty. She was the mightiest wolf to ever be mighty! Of course she had never met another wolf. Sure there was that fellow whom called himself Wolf, but was he really a wolf? He was a strange one that was for sure. It mattered not at this point in time however and Arkrael quickly focued back at the task at hand. This bird had disrespected her. For no reason at all. Had tossed rocks at her and then threw one out of anger that had struck and injured Arkrael's eye. Even now her eye could barely open and it still throbbed, sending painful shocks through the back of her skull.

Her fur ruffled in annoyance and she turned her gaze down to the bird. Her nose starting to scrunch him. "I'm hardly killing you. For all I know your rock throwing could have blinded my eye!" She didn't mean to sound as aggressive as she did in that moment, but the more she thought about it and the more she realized she just couldn't see out of her eye the more she began to worry about if that were true or not. She narrowed her eyes for a moment, struggling with herself. She didn't know if she wanted to retaliate against this bird, or if she should just let it go.

When an idea hit her, Arkrael blinked her current good eye before a devilish grin slipped across her muzzle. She wouldn't hurt him. Oh no. She would do something a little more than that. Without hesitation she dipped her head down and took her time to pluck out a few feathers right out of his back between his wings. She didn't want to take feathers out of his wings and make him flightless, that is if he could even fly, but regardless the feathers upon his back would do just as she wanted. Once she was happy with the amount of feathers she had plucked out of his back she finally decided to remove herself off of him. Taking a few steps back and still trying to get a few reluctant feathers out of her mouth. "There." She said it more to herself. As if she was proud of how she retaliated. She had no real reason to cause him hard, outside of the fact that he had injured her eye, but even then it just didn't feel right to strike back in that fashion.
