His peeps were edging closer to quacks as he aged a little more, most of his down now the obnoxious and itchy pin feathers. Kawenu waddle around, pecking up a bit of moss and other fungi along the way. His wake was primarily parrot waxcap, which he sometimes turned around and snagged a bite of. The bright green suited this cavern well, which satisfied his desire for an artistic aesthetic.

Kawenu stretched out his wings, flapping them after. He looked at them, wondering if he'd be able to fly someday. The thought took over him. He began running around as quickly as his legs could carry him, quacking as his wings reached out, flapping occasionally. They were nowhere near ready, but it gave him satisfaction to be able to pretend there was wind lifting him into the heights of the caves.

A look of contentment was plastered on his face, eyes slowly closing as his body sank to the ground. Peace and quiet. Loneliness didn't not yet know him. The settling noises of the cave around him starts to lullaby him to a dream-filled sleep... or so one may wish. Instead, he had unsettling nightmares created by the darker depths of his mind, startling him awake and causing his pins to stand out.

He had once again set out to explore. His father was asleep near the spire, but Khori was just too full of energy to just snuggle up and nap for now. He was now far more nimble on his paws, easily making his way over the terrain and not tripping as often as he had been when he first took up to walking. His long tail behind him lashed about, swaying to and fro in rhythm with every step. His belly was full thanks to his father's previously hunted meal, but that did not calm the interest in hunting something on his own.

Large ears twisted into attention when there was a curious sound. Something he had never heard before. Pink eyes lifted up from the ground he was walking upon and searched the area curiously. It was then that he spotted it. Another creature! He had never seen one before, but it had wings too! Not like his awesome wings, but wings nonetheless! A grin spread across his features as he began waddling over towards the creatures, not at all noticing that the thing had quite possibly settled down for a nap.

Just as he was only a few feet from the bird he opened his pointed muzzle to say something, but was startled when the bird suddenly jolted awake and it's feathers did something weird. He backpedaled a few steps back before stretching his long neck out to get a closer look even as he kept where he now stood. "Er, you ok'i? I not scare you did I?" He murmured as he cocked his head to the side curiously, watching the duck with all the curiosity in the caves.

A sigh parted his beak as the adrenaline washed away. He inhaled deeply, only to give a start as a voice came from nowhere. He cocked his head back at the new acquaintance before him. If a beaked animal could smile, he was doing his version of it. His tail wagged as he stood, not being any taller than 11 inches. He quacked softly, trying to find a voice for words like the new being used. He shook his head, stared at the ground in thought, then looked back up at the other with an eye tilted toward him.

"Bad sleep," he managed, then side stepped a little, feeling a bit awkward. "Name?"

A split second after requesting a name, he began on preening under his right wing, and itch bothering him thanks to his wretched pin feathers. He tilted his head down and used a webbed foot to itch the back of his head before standing up straight again. His bright gaze stared up in awe at the much larger baby.

Bad sleep? Well that certainly sounded no fun at all. Khori huffed and frowned at the idea of it before shaking it away as he looked down at the tiny little duckling. He was probably as big as one of his paws! It was interesting seeing different sized babies. His brother was bigger than he was, but he was bigger than this one was! His long ears pushed forward as the duckling asked for a name and finally a broad grin spread across his features, exposing his tiny sharp rows of fangs. "I am Khoridai! Wha's your name?" He questioned curiously as he lowered himself down to be eye level with the duckling. His tail continued to wag behind him, causing his rump to wiggle just a bit.

The duckling wiggled his tail excitedly, giving a few soft quacks as he watched Khoridai lower himself down to the ground. The sharp, shiny teeth were very impressive to little Kawenu. He figured he'd bring that up later, though.

"Name... Kawenu!" he said, shaking his tail feathers even more and his wings flapping. Far too much excitement and energy for one little duck.

Duck quacked idly, then got excited again. "Play!?" he bounced as he said it.

The duck spoke his name and Khoridai found himself grinning from ear to ear. Kawenu! What an interesting name that was! His tail wagged back and forth as he tried to keep himself from wiggling with excitement. Perhaps even a rapport was beginning to develop between them. Khoridai would be excited about that.

Furry ears twitched and perked up into attention as Kawenu spoke again and Khori couldn't help himself when he gave a few excited yips. "Yees play! What play?!" He asked eagerly as he lowered his front half down further, much like a wolf pup would do if they were getting ready to do some wrestling. A silly thing for a more dragon looking creature to do, but Khoridai didn't know any better. AFter all he was both wolf and dragon all in one go.

Kawenu quacked excitedly, tail feathers wagging as much as Khori's tail. He flapped his wings as the energy swelled up inside of him and he bounded a little. "Let us just play!" he chimed, then darted down the path, wings spread, trying to fly. He went ran back to Khori, doing the same thing the entire time. He was panting very heavily when he was back to his new friend, but was still full of energy. He lowered his front half like the dragon hybrid did, tail wiggling some more, then waited for Khori to do something playful. @Khoridai

Laughter bubbled from the wolfy noodle as he wiggled with his excitement. He hopped and bounced side to side as he watched the duckling run a distance away, his wings outstretched as if he were ready to fly. Khori's eyes went wide almost as if he were ready to see the bird fly, his own wings stretching out as far as they could reach. Kawenu came back and lowered his front half and almost instantlyi Khori was yipping and barking with excitement, a wild grin of excitement covering his features as he instantly dropped his front half down low to the ground. His butt wiggled in the air as he prepared his next move. Maybe he would pounce on the duck and playfully wrestle him!

Alas, just as he was about to make his move to try and pounce the little bird, the gem on his chest suddenly tingled and he shivered as magic suddenly coursed through him. Before he knew what was happening something suddenly began to shimmer into view. His eyes went wide as a complete replica of himself was suddenly standing in front of him, it's front half lowered down with his goofy grin while it's rump was up and wiggling just like his had been. "Oh wow!" He exclaimed as he padded around the doppelganger. His attention was pulled away from Kawenu, giving the bird the upper hand should the duckling choose to make his own move against Khori.

Kawenu paused when the second Khori began to form. He could only stare, stunned to silence as the two Khori dragons inspected each other. He walked up behind the one he was sure was the original and watched the tail wiggle and wag, an idea crawling into his mind. He jumped a couple times, not getting very far. He timed the way the tail swayed, the jumped with his bill open. He snapped onto the end, releasing as soon as he felt the momentum of the tail start to move him. Being so caught up in his own doppelganger, that was surely supposed to be used to confuse his opponent, Khoridai did not see his new friend coming up behind him. At least, not until he felt a bite at his tail. A yelp escaped him, quickly followed by laughter as Khoridai leaped right through his mirror image, causing the thing to disappear instantly. He spun around and once again dropped his front half into a bow while his rump remained in the air wiggling with his wagging tail. "I'll get you!" He laughed playfully as he suddenly pounced forward, hoping to send his magic once again into affect.
