It was time. Aza'zel felt it was time for him to rise as The Bone King, and for The Bonebound to become an official group in Origin Caves. Currently, he stood upon a tall rock, one that nearly scraped the roof of the cave. Great wings spread and the juvenile took a swan dive down the rock side, stomach barely grazing the stone. At the end, he snapped his wings open, gravity and friction acting upon the ave to allow him to safely glide down. Carmine eyes gazed about, scrutinizing his soon-to-be territory. He had invited a few close friends to join the group, but he could only be sure if they'd be willing to if the group was official. There was Krakarak, Bravo, Fortune, Wolf, and Beau. Shivering at the thought of both Wolf and Beau together, the bird sighed. Hopefully those two wouldn't slobber all over him. Yet again.

Flapping his wings so that he was able to glide easily to the westernmost wall in the bone room, he paid no mind to the great carvings and scripture above him. That mattered naught. The bird puffed out his chest, inhaling. It was time. Great appendages pumped and worked to gather his pressure magicka about him, hoping to use the gust to carry out his voice to beyond the caverns of Canis and through the tunnels to any others willing to join his misfit family. Molecules of oxygen and hydrogen gathered around the ave's wings, gathering in such tight groups that the bird could feel it. Satisfaction rang through the bird's brain, but he'd waste no time to unleash it in the direction of the exit. A cry rang from the juvenile's beak, following the wind and reverberating off the molecules and echoing off many a rock face.

Smiling happily, the bird puffed out his chest, hopping up onto a rock and spreading out his wings to balance himself. Aza'zel stared down at his talons, murmuring to himself. "Now, hopefully they come..." Chuckling, he knew somehow that his friends would. He'd made enough that a group would be worthwhile to create. Think of all of the mischief they could cause and fun adventures they could have! Carmine eyes looked about, seeking out any moving outlines to indicate those who were coming to join The Bonebound. Perhaps some newcomers would heed his call! It was time to play the waiting game.

Beau heard Aza’s summon from wherever he was (he hardly paid attention) and came running. He wasn’t quite used to running yet, though, and stumbled all over the place in his happy haste to get to his friend. He hadn’t known the birdie very long but that didn’t change the Retriever’s feelings about him. He was his only friend in the world (so far) and he would do anything for him. In fact, he wasn’t often very far away from Aza, and today was no different. It didn’t take him more than a few minutes of non-stop running to reach his winged friend.

He barked happily and hopped around on his paws, tail wagging. ”Beau came! Beau came!” he barked, having just recently learned how to say very simple words. ”I’s join da group! Beau make lotsa new friends wit Aza!” He was so excited he was whimpering and shaking, and at some point he just exhausted himself and fell with a whump to the cave floor. His chin landed on his paws, but he kept his bright brown eyes on Aza’zel, wondering what would happen next.

The Wolf-the-was-not-a-wolf had showed him hunting once. It involved crouching down low - like this. It also involved bending his knees and lowering to the ground and extending his neck and using his nose. Eyes and nose and eyes and ears...

Saudade was surprisingly obedient. Hearing the loud screech of his compatriot he put an early end to his wandering through the twisted maze of the caves and went to work finding his path back to the bonepit. Here was where he had his first meal – he would never forget here.

And as he came upon where his friend was perched, he spotted something else. Something big and round and plump-looking. It was the color of gold and tawny and it looked so yummy to him! Having not eaten since he had been with the ave last, the wolf thought now was the perfect opportunity to refresh himself on all that he had been taught about hunting.

Eyes and nose and eyes and ears. Low to the ground. Quiet.

Saudade was becoming quite a master of his long limbs and used his small paws to deftly move. Slinking through the shadows he was quite a sneaky little fox-like-wolf as he neared the laying retriever...

Roll attempt

But Saudade had much to learn. Just as he neared the luscious round rump of the dog he tripped over his own foot, stumbling and planting his nose into something... Fluffy. Something very fluffy.

After his escapades within the dark caverns of the bone yard type area, Xylos had taken a particular liking to it merely observing each creature as they passed through the tall columns. Occasionally throwing down more bones and laughing as they left the area in fright. A few others had been spotted routinely visiting the area and it intrigued him. As if on queue, a reverberating screech began to resonate off the walls of the area and he was surprised it didn't just shake the gemstone clean off his nose. Fur fluffing up along his spines, he lost his grip on the stalactite and fell a few inches before he caught himself by outstretching his sails.

Jeez.

Xylos huffed and pouted before he began to awkwardly glide/fly over to wherever the noise had come from. Not as graceful as his feathered air cousins, he tried his best and he hoped it'd pay off. Unable to keep himself in the air for long as he wasn't as strong as the young boy should be, he attempted to manipulate the air beneath him to give himself a slight boost upwards.

Roll Edit Here

Air pushed himself upwards in a sturdy burst and he was able to gain the needed altitude to simply glide down to the gathering creatures. Blinking expectantly at them, he clattered on top of the skulls and bones before finally finding a way to grip on. Sails outstretched and hugging the surface, he looked from one to the other, "What's going on here? Can I join?" Little tail waggling slightly, the bat decided his focus should be on the one on the top. Obviously the leader in this cohort.

Fortune had been more than happy to follow the King Aza'zel home to his Bonebound friends. She'd wanted to wait, though, and meet them in the morning upon their arrival, so she'd turned away to find a place to sleep. That place happened to be a bare spot of stone close to a high ledge, under its shadow where she'd find peace from the general noise of the day. When Aza'zel called out, though, she jumped away rather suddenly, blue eyes flashing wide and bright as she craned her head towards the source. 'Zel sat atop a perch that kept him above the ground and easy to spot, so as other crowded around him, Fortune could easily keep her eyes on him. She stood after a yawn, then slowly wandered her way over. She avoided the crowd, but those eyes scanned over each figure there- from the tiny stranger with weird arm wings, to the pair of big, furry creatures that looked alike but different. Finally, she came to rest near Aza'zel's perch and stood on three of her four legs, the fourth held at an angle of rest as she waited.

"Lots of other gembounds here. Did you make friends with all of them yourself, Aza'zel?" She asked quietly, hopefully so only he'd hear. With the thought that more might come, she turned away and focused her senses towards the many entrances and exits around their cave. As she focused, the jewel on her head gleamed ever so slightly, a sort of void darkness surrounding it and swirling in her eyes, instead of the usual bright light that others gave off when using their magical abilities.

(roll edit)

Nothing came back to her though. Her dark anti-glow fizzled out and she shook her head as the effort left ehr winded a moment. No, she hadn't eaten yet today- of course her magic wouldn't work right. All well. Instead, she trained her ears to listen and watch for newcomers- while keeping her attention partial to Aza'zel should he soon speak.

Bravo spent most of his awaken time since last meeting his avian friend searching for the correct sized bones to fix his small fort up. In his efforts of dragging bones back and forth between piles, he stumbled blindly through many gross puddles that left the young raccoon completely enraged. His stone would light up in his anger every now and then as the magic surged within him, but depleted each time a spell failed. Which spell was being conjured? He didn't attempt to do anything at all, but the turquoise kept coming to life with new waves of fury. Each time it was kindled, however, the weaker and weaker he felt. Before eventually he just found himself snoozing, bent over awkwardly on a contorted femur or skull.

A loud call woke him with a slurred stumble and then a quick jolt at realizing he had dozed off in the first place. It was Aza'zel making that ruckus, a soft gust blew through his gnarled up fur and Bravo knew then his friend had summoned wind again. He snorted. Bravo's curiosity lead him towards the gathering, he wanted to know what all the ruckus was about.

Coming close to the epicenter of the conjugation, Bravo's eyes narrowed in suspicion. He had sensed a lot of activity in the area as of late, but had not bumped into anyone else formally. He tripped a couple times over a few... bones, he figured, and came to a rest where he plopped his rear down and stared apathetically up at Aza'zel. Concealing his itching interest well. Other's may have tossed a few glances his way, should they have seen his interesting features, but Bravo paid them no mind. He really just wanted to get back to his project.

There was a fantastic turnout for the meeting of The Bonebound- the first and official one - and almost everyone that he had invited showed. Beau, Saudade, Fortune, and Bravo. There was a new face in the crowd, though. A strange leathery-winged beast. Like a bird... but perhaps not. There was fur on his little body and a cute little green gem on his nose. It seemed to show ethusiasm to be in on whatever was here, and Azazel was happy about that. Gazing around at his crowd of friends and one new friend, the bird chirped. "I'm happy that you all came here today." Why not be kind and greet everyone. Stretching out a wing and flapping them a little, he nodded.

"I called this meeting to bring together The Bonebound. I know I invited you all to it, but let's make it official." Hopefully he wouldn't be too confusing in his explanation and such. "The rules are simple. Know your clan mates and be close. We're meant to be like a family. Respect each other and take each other for who they are. Defend our home if you see anything suspicious, come and call for the rest of the group if help is needed. If there are other groups, and we are friends with them, respect the alliance. Others can call us misfits and the outcasts, but we're more than that! I assure you!" Raising a taloned foot, the bird waved it about dramatically. "We are all Bound by bones in this room, even if bones don't matter to you. This is our home. The bones may be icky, but there's plenty more in here if you explore. Sometimes there are some gems and such you can claim as your own. I don't really mind."

Pausing for a moment, he thought of what ranks to give all of his members. "I am The Bone King, the leader. If you're wondering about anything ior you want conversation, come and talk to me. For now, all of you will be called Bound. You're the body of this group, and without it, The Bonebound would be nothing. If you have any ideas, let me know right now..." Hopefully that was clear. Carmine eyes flickered about curiously, awaiting response and any questions.

Beau, whose tail was wagging excitedly, soon felt something cold and wet poke his back. He jumped and turned around, curious to see what it was, and saw a really tall dog-looking-thing but it wasn't a dog. He faced the new creature head on and happily leaned in to give it big wet slobbery kisses as a greeting. "Beau's name is Beau! I's come to meeting! Did you's come to meeting, too? Are we's gonna be group mates?" Beau didn't have any sense to know that this thing had been attempting to hunt him. Besides, even if he had, he probably wouldn't have minded. He was too big-hearted, and, frankly, dumb, to mind something like that.

A few other creatures showed up, but none of the others bumped their noses into him, so he didn't lick their faces. Instead he focused on Aza's words. There were a lot of them, and he found it hard to focus for very long, but he he persevered. In the end, he came away sort of understand the rules. Basically, they were: Be nice to family and call for help if anyone weird showed up in the bonepit. He barked happily and wagged his tail at Aza to show that he understood. Without much else to contribute (he wasn't really the thinking type) he lay down and looked up at his birdie friend-leader expectantly...

Ugh.

Pretending that running into this... 'Beau' had been purposeful, Saudade lounged next to the furry dog, scoffing a little as the whelp began to clean his face. With ears pinned he attempted to lift his chin higher than the big, pink tongue that wrapped itself all around his (very clean, mind you) mug. "Yup." He managed to get out when he was certain there would be no accidental swapping of spit. While he had never tested his theory, he was very certain he wouldn't enjoy the taste of anyone else's slobber but his own.

But soon the wolf's attention was turning over to the others that began to arrive. They were quite an odd bunch of creatures, each one more different and odd than the last. Many of them were very small - in fact from where Saudade sat it seemed that 'Beau' and he were largest among them. He couldn't help that his brow wrinkled in concern and inquisition when he realized there were so many dainty little creatures in the world...

What were all of them made for?

Azazel's speech declared all of these weird, odd misfits as individuals Saudade had to care for. Which he supposed he could, if he had to, but...

Tilting his head, he eventually spoke up. "Their names." He said, frowning a little. Azazel had wanted some ideas, right? While it was quite simple and by no means something that had lasting impact on the way the Bonebound would do things, it was something the wolf thought would be a very cordial thing to start with. "What are their names?"

In a roundabout way? He thought they should all introduce themselves. It'd be even better if they had skills or talents, too. After all... everyone needed to be good at something, didn't they? Looking from Azazel to his news 'groupmates', Saudade couldn't help but be a little... skeptical.

Calling them all (himself included) a group of oddballs and misfits might be an understatement.

Bravo listened with disdain as the rules were listed off, he liked the idea of being apart of a group... but rules? He didn't like the sound of that. They weren't too demanding but still, the raccoon kit felt he'd rather just do what he wanted without any respect for rules. Perhaps one day he'd be the first to break them. What's the worst that could happen? He'd be punished of course... to what severity he'd only have to find out.

He bristled slightly when discussing the gems that were stashed about, welcoming anyone to come and snatch them up. Bravo had already a little cluster of his own going on, hidden under a pile of stinky old bones until he could move them to his personalized fort.

There were two that looked somewhat alike, yet so very different. There was one who was excitable and wiggled about, Bravo was glad his attention was on the taller red male, all that slobber would lead the raccoon to break rules already. He'd surely freak out if the pup oozed saliva all over him.

As if to answer the maned wolf's thoughts, Bravo's gem began to glow faintly as magic welled up inside his skull. He was wondering if he should show his skill or not, it wasn't anything special and no other spells had been mastered just yet... if he was even capable of doing something else. The light slowly diminished and Bravo stared blankly into space for a moment, lost in thought. "Oh, yeah," he popped back to focus, "I'm Bravo."

ooc: lol, I was gonna post magic but when I submitted the post it disappeared. =_= oh well, I just had Bravo change his mind then
