Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.
Funnily enough, Remedy had never met Arkrael or been to Eridanus before this. When Cure had told her about the wolf and the group she'd been gathering, Remedy had asked simply, 'do you want to go with her?', to which Cure had replied with carefully trained excitement, 'yes!'. That'd been it. The whole conversation. Remedy was happy to go where her twin wanted, because for the hybrid lady, Cure was more Home than any cave or crevice could ever be. So, to Eridanus they went, and she'd met Arkrael. The wolf was nice. She'd been the one to care for Cure after Hasira's misdeeds and during the battle.
Remedy recalled that time with grim dullness. While their parents had gone off to war, she'd sat uselessly in Canis, trying to practice her flight on stale winds.
She noted with some level of interest that, despite the crowded plantlife, Eridanus was lively with gentle, rolling winds. She could fly here, so long as she carefully avoided branches and hanging rocks. For once, she was thankful to be so small. She could fit into the tunnels and archways here, unlike some winged folk.
Today, she sat in the mouth of one such tunnel, high on the wall. Ferns grew around her, hiding her black and red visage. Here, she sat, observing her new kingdom with quiet thought.
She could see why her twin loved this place, and she hoped their brother would be fond of it as well... once she retrieved him. That would take some planning. Would Aza'zel let him go? The cub was the last link the Bone King had to their father. Was their mystery relationship close enough to cause strife now? She mulled over the matter with a sober expression, outwardly bored.

Sapphire eyes somberly watched the gem before her. They sat relaxed just before the opal shell, searching all the colors that proudly displayed against the opaque white. Cure had never witnessed someone having to go back into slumber. To have their gem react instantly and wrap them back into it's protective casings. No one exactly knew what had happened to the she-wolf, only that Salethyr had found her just like this with the scent of blood thick in the air. The thought of that in itself brought a dark frown upon Cure's features as they flicked their tail about. The poor child was so upset. Devastated and crushed that his mother had been assaulted by some creature and had lost to them. Cure just couldn't imagine who had done it. Arkrael was the epitome of strength in their eyes. the hybrid had gone over ideas of whom it could have been, but alas nothing seemed to fit.
Cure had been busy the last few days, filling in Arkrael's role in a group she had gathered with ease. Just to make sure everything was ready and completed by the time Arkrael awoke from her slumber. It wasn't until recently she had went to her twin for acceptance of joining the she-wolf. Remedy seemed perfectly okay with it and Cure had been relieved. They knew their home had been moved to Canis with the bonebound, but...with their family in shambles and only the memory of her father's death residing within the walls of bones Cure could not stay there. They just couldn't. Hopefully their mother understood as well.
Before too long Cure felt a tug in her heart. A pull in her very soul and instantly she knew. Remedy was close by. The leopard hybrid rose to her paws easily and turned on paw. A smile washed away the dark frown and quickly Cure headed off to find her twin. Sapphire eyes and turquoise horns seemed to gain a glowing that flashed briefly and instantly Cure was filled with the heartbeats of those residing within Eridanus.
The only one Cure cared about was the steady, strong beating of their twin's. The one they could easily pick out of any number of other sensations. Slowly Cure prowled through the foliage. Holding herself low as each footstep was kept as silently as she could get. Ears splayed out to the side as an ornery grin instantly pulled at their features the closer she came upon their twin.
The moment they came upon the fern bushes Remedy perched herself in, Cure jumped at her twin from behind. "HEY!" They roared rather loudly in hopes to startle their twin. It would make for some good belly hurting laughs if Cure thought so himself.

She could feel a stirring in her skull, like rolling mist. Movement. Cure, she decided. It was a feeling that had, over their time together again, grown into a recognizable and tangible thing, now as familiar to her as any emotional pull. It meant her twin was nearby, and by the churning that refused her to doze, growing nearer. There was no refinement to the feeling, though, so as Cure approached behind her, Remedy was none the wiser. It wasn't until the last second, a shift of movement, fur against fern, that Rem turned, just in time for Cure to shout and pounce.
Remedy squawked, the sound loud and high-pitched, as they tumbled down into the moist plant life below in a tangle of limbs and feathers...
...and with a skillful twist of smaller frame, arching wings and a swing of her long tail, the smaller of the two managed to end up on top once they'd come to a stop. She crowed victory, talons carefully pressed into her twin's ribs, keeping her pinned.
"You dare challenge me, dear sister?" She barked in mock outrage. She couldn't keep it up. Laughter broke past her act and she bent to nuzzle her beak into Cure's neck and jawline, full of affection and bubbling laughter. "What the heck are you doing, sneaking up on me, anyway?" She'd move to let her up after a moment, but remain close enough to brush fur and feathers if given the chance.

Laughter spilled loudly from the leopard as the two of them went tumbling through to foliage. A wild, playful grin glued onto her features as she eventually landed on her back with Remedy crowing in her 'victory'. Her tail flicked about as Cure began to ponder her retaliation as Remedy finally spoke in her mock rage. "But of course, my dear sister," She mocked right back in her own playful attempt at a sinister voice, but just like her twin she couldn't hold it up for long and more laughter spilled out of Cure.
A deep purring rumbled deep in her chest at the affections her twin gave her before the little gryphon pulled away. Cure rolled, pushing herself up all the while keeping a grin at Rem. "Just keeping you on your toes! You never know what could be skulking about," She teased playfully as she moved to give a gentle, playful head bump. "PLus I was in need of a good laugh," He chuckled as he ultimately plopped right back down onto his side in front of Remedy, quite literally laying over the hybrid's front paws. He gave a goofy grin up at her twin as she reached up and playfully patted her paw against Remedy's nose. "Have you ate recently?" It seemed like Cure was nothing but a bottomless pit when it concerned food these days and now was no exception. She was starving.
For a moment Cure could have sworn she felt a sudden tingle in her skull, but before she could ponder on it for too long it was gone.
On my toes, huh? She smirked, thoroughly amused, as Cure flopped down on her talons. She parted her beak to feign biting at those offending paws as they came towards her face, purring in that dove-like coo in response to the purring. At the mention of food, she regarded her twin with incredulous expression, then tugged her paws free to frame Cure's shoulders again- this time settling her weight down over her, basking in the physical contact.
"I caught a rat this morning." So no, not in earnest anyway. She wasn't hungry, though. While Cure could probably woof down an entire stag, the littler sibling ate, well, like a bird. Her frame matched her lean diet- slender and toned with muscle but not a gram of fat to be found. "You probably wanna hunt, huh?" The tone was teasing, lazy. Remedy would, if encouraged, but she'd much rather just laze about against her twin's softer pelt and let the day float by instead.
As if to make that desire known, she settled her down, close enough to share the same air.

A rat this morning. Cure was left to stare up at her twin with such an odd look. An amused chuckle escaped the leopard as Remedy settled down against her. The same, deep rumble of a purr returned to Cure and the fellow hybrid was quite content to just stay there snuggled up with her twin. "Naah, I'll hunt later. I ate an hour ago. I'm just starving," Cure grinned as she mused over the idea that he was still hungry. His sister could live off of a rat at this morning and Cure needed like a ten course meal just to feel completely stuffed.
Cure shifted, only momentarily, just to get their positions into an even better spot and once she found the most comfortable way to lay Cure was content to nuzzle into the feathers she could manage to reach. How could she possibly want to go hunt when she could so easily just cuddle up with Remedy and take a nap. Naps were better than food. At least to her they were. Naps with her twin was especially better than anything else.
Though, when suddenly that same tingling sensation in her skull came back a frown marred into Cure's features. 'Am I dizzy or something?' His thoughts rumbled with annoyance as he once again tried to figure out what the hell was going on with her head. When the sensation seemingly disappeared once more cure let out a quiet sigh and shrugged it off. Maybe she was wrong and hadn't ate since this morning too.
"Oh yeah," She laughed into Cure's fur. "You're practically wasting away." Sarcastic tone was light, dazed. She could feel her muscles settling, wings slacking over them once Cure settled. The soft hush that fell over the pair was soothing, and Rem found herself drifting, eyes slipping shut to focus entirely on the soft thrumming of Cure's heart, the pull of their magic between them, subtle, something Remedy had always associated as typical but...
...today, admittedly, that pull was a little stronger. Less imaginary. She pushed the feeling aside, basked in it rather than thinking too hard on it. She figured it to be nothing more than their long-time sibling bond, or her own muddled feelings playing into that.
Slipping into a dreamy doze, she let her mind wander. She thought of their time together as cubs, how it'd been so short lived, but somehow their bond had survived it. Their reunions. Plural, of course, and each time more euphoric than the last. She considered Cure's scent, how it had become carved into her memory as clearly as the lay of her own plumage or the feeling of air across her wings as she flew- familiar, eternally present.
"Loovee you..." Her voice came out in a slurred murmur, tender and barely above a whisper. Lazy in her half-asleep state. Goofy, even, because she felt too safe to be anything but happy.

Laughter came softly from Cure when Remedy gave her a rather sarcastic response to Cure starving. She gave no words in return, but instead affectionately began groom feather's and fur alike that belonged to her twin. The longer she lay there the more she realized she was starting to doze off. There was a point where she nearly jolted awake, but it was quickly pushed aside as she relaxed once more into the warm ball of cuddles the two of them had created.
Cure was beyond comfortable and there wasn't anything that could get her out of her spot in that moment. In and out she went between a soft slumber and a barely awake state. Blearily opening her eyes as if to check on her twin before she would go right back to snoozing. A continuous deep purr remained in her chest throughout their entire nap. It wasn't long, or at least it didn't feel like it was a long time, before Remedy's sleepy voice filled her rounded ears. A sleepy smile curled at her features as her purring seemed to intensify by the words. "I love you too, Rem," His voice nearly came out inaudible, but Cure knew Remedy would hear it....
Just as Cure had fallen back to sleep a sudden tingling started in her skull again. Growing until Cure's eyes popped wide open and a guttural gasp escaped him. Her horns flashed brightly, her eyes gaining a familiar glow as a rush of magic seemed to consume her. And suddenly, Cure was bombarded by new sensations...ones she could not claim as her own. It was a torrent of tendrils spinning wildly through her eyes almost making it to where Cure couldn't see straight. "Rem?!" He nearly cried out when he couldn't just yet get his vision to clear from whatever was going on. His heart began to race as his paws instinctively went to grip at his twin in an attempt to make sure she was okay.
There was calm. Peaceful, quiet calm. Then suddenly, a warmth, one at first comfortable, as soothing as her twin's rumbling purr. It continued to grow, though, covering her like a blanket and hot, suddenly so hot. She squirmed in her sleepy state, as if to dispell it- but it only grew hotter. White hot. Burning, and strangely, cold, all at once, and then Cure gasped, clinging to her and Remedy's own eyes snapped open.
She couldn't see. Or, she could, but she couldn't. She could feel panic. Worry for her twin, a concern that didn't make any sense. Fear. Protective terror. There was a flash of blue light, or perhaps it was red? The heat didn't fade. She moved to stand but Cure's paws around her kept her secure. Cure. Oh god, there was fear and confusion and was her twin safe!? Was she okay!? She couldn't see- but with open eyes, she could see Cure, face contorted in panic- but she couldn't see! Oh god, why couldn't she see!? Was her twin okay!?
And realization. Cure calling her name in a horrified cry. Cure. CURE. Her voice failed her, probably because amidst the panic, she'd started keening, and her vocal chords were too busy sounding the alarm to bother with words. CURE STOP CAN'T BREATH TOO TIGHT CAN'T SEE CAN'T SEECAN'TSEE Her wings flared out and began to thrash, as if trying to take flight, or right herself, because she was belly up and that wasn't safe, but her paws were seated on the ground and that made zero sense and nothing made any sense and wait.
Wait. Stop. Freeze. Poison. Poison defends. Safe. Fine. Nothing bites the poison. Nothing hurts it. Calm. Calm. Calm.
The panic was still there but now that the heat had faded, there was more to it than just feeling. There was a disconnect, sort of, that told her this emotion wasn't right. Wasn't her own. Influenced. Whatever. Panic wasn't safe. Panic leads to mistakes. Horrible, horrible mistakes. Calm. FREEZE.
The keening in her throat became a lower octave, a rumble that could be more felt than heard. It vibrated deep in her chest and against her twin's ribs and it carried with it a steady note that wouldn't die, despite her breathing rapid, but slowing down. Steady. Easy. Calm. Calm. Calm.
Is Cure alright? What happened!? Can't speak. Throat's all tight. Ugh. But she could feel and finally see again and she pushed herself flat against Cure with that rumbling vibration, stable. Steady. I'm safe. We're safe. It's okay. Nothing's hurt. Nothing's wrong. Please calm down. Please please please calm down.
Multiple emotions clashed with several sensations. Consuming Cure until she just couldn't differentiate none of it. Her head began to throb, her horns growing in it's already bright glow. He didn't even realize his grip on his twin was slowly becoming tighter and tighter. At least, not until his twin's voice suddenly erupted. Panicked and loud and so clear he was sure she was yelling right next to her ears. It was a long moment before Cure relaxed the hold she had on Remedy, first thinking that perhaps it had been something else she was talking about.
Rapidly she continued to blink her eyes, desperately trying to get the bright tendrils of swirling lights to go away and let their vision return. She struggled to keep herself from wrapping her paws around Remedy again. Especially when she couldn't exactly see correctly. And then rumbling vibration was felt against her ribs and a rush of air escaped the panicking hybrid. And then words filled her thoughts, pushing through the torrent of overwhelming sensations.
Remedy... Her own voice reached out after the voice that instantly helped soothe whatever was going on with her. The glowing of her horns finally began to dissipate, her eyes losing it's similar glow and before too long Cure's eyes were staring right at Remedy. "What the fuck..." She breathed out, feeling her frantically beating heart finally start to settle down as the vibration Remedy was giving off absolutely helped calm her down. Finally she clenched her eyes shut, rather embarrassed by her sudden panic attack.
Well I'm an idiot...
"I'm sorry" She mumbled out as she pinned her ears back. Even now she was still unsure of what had caused any of that. Did she have some kind of nightmare that made her gem's magic come to life and do something crazy? Her mind now danced around ideas that could have possibly happened, but nothing at all made any sense to the leopard. In the end she simply released a heavy sigh and moved in a way where she could just bury her face into Remedy's feathers.
