The creatures were scurrying to-and-fro in the caves, and while Teyouma was ignorant to why, he felt compelled to watch and follow. In doing so he was led from place to place, always unseen. Once within Orion he separated from them for a time to collect his thoughts - only to discover some of the creatures had begun to hoard stones.

This would not do! He owned these stones! He owned these caves! Always watching, taking, carving, but they chased him or they fought him! How was it that they could hunt for pretty things and yet he was met with hostility?!

He was enraged; it was this rage which prompted him to begin scouring Orion for his own collection, heading for the cliffside first and then.. Well, wherever fate took him. He did not go far - alongside the sheer cliff he found an assortment of small stones, although they did not hold the luster or charm of the things others had discovered. This only further irritated him. Yes, these were rocks, but not the right rocks!

With his ruined vestigial limbs the hybrid could climb higher along the cliff, even if it was sheer. They were like ice picks or some kind of tool - but each stab hurt, as the bone cleaved between segments of stone. He shrieked each time, scrambling for a hand hold or a foot hold, with dust rising all around him.

As it turns out, this was an apt way to scale a sheer surface. The beast was light to begin with, and while each stab caused him anguish, it was not so bad that it would dissuade him. He scaled a good portion of the wall before needing to rest; with a final stab, he rooted himself next to a horizontal crevice and began to excavate the wall.

Thin, long, strange arms were shoved in to the crevice despite the obvious stupidity of such an action; the soil was hard-packed but the darkness of the gaps was appealing. He could not grasp well with his bird-hands, but the talons worked wonders in keeping him rooted to one spot. With patience (which he vastly lacked) and a keen eye, Teyouma worked on widening the crevice enough to scoot his torso inside as well, thinking better rocks must live deeper.

His claws touched upon something. It wiggled like a tooth ready to pop out of a jaw - and with a gleeful duo-toned giggle, he grabbed it with both hands and pulled. The stone segment he withdrew from the cave wall was long, as if it had been cut and polished, and beneath the deep brown dust he thought he could spy a blue sheen.

Eager for more, he tosses the large blue shard down - at first handling it with his hands, then feet, then tail which wraps protectively around it, but it does fall a good distance from his elevated location on to the cave floor. As he does this, Teyouma simultaneously searches for new hook-points for his vestigial limbs; if he wasn't a mental case then he could've probably made a living doing this! It was much easier to dig up stones versus tear them out of gembound creatures... Not that he would ever truly be dissuaded from that.

Climbing a little higher, he finds another chasm to work his sharp-pointed fingers in to and worries at the dirt, trying to pry something free.

The stone he withdraws this time is small, but it strobes softly with magicka. It doesn't occur to the beast that this might have been a seedling trying to grow a new gembound; it is small and he scoffs at it, tossing it down without as much care as the larger blue stone.
