The chrysalis had been calm for a while, a small lifeform cradled inside. Occasionally the chrysalis would grow some more, it was clear to see that the chrysalis would hatch soon. Inside there was a small lamb, but she hadn't stayed small for long. Her body was pressing against the sides of the chrysalis, daring to break it open. Her hooves would bang against the front of the chrysalis, her head trying to break out. Not the laziest of children, she didn't want to stay in her chrysalis any longer. Outside of the egg-like chamber, it was stunning. A shining opal chrysalis with many colors, but the beauty was not hidden by the rainbow shell. Nor was the lamb within it, as she had just broken out.
A loud crack could be heard as the lamb broke through, the newborn lamb's head slipped out from the crack. Followed shortly by the rest of the body.
Her eyes blinked slowly, she took in long, heavy breaths. Taking in the beauty of the world, she had never seen anything but darkness when she was in her chrysalis. It was odd, she didn't really like it too much. The newborn snuck a final glance at the broken shell, tiny hooves clacking against the floor. Her legs were awkward as she strided towards the shell, eyes peering at it cautiously. The opal was pretty, and it pulled the lamb closer with its rainbow colors. She shook her head, was there anyone else out here?
The lamb turned its head, but there didn't seem to be anyone there for the moment. She was lost, really confused. She stuck a tiny hoof in the broken shell, trying to climb back inside. But the broken shell scratched on her back, which startled the youngling. She jumped back, frightened and confused as to why her old home would hurt her.

Equinox felt her skin tremble softly in the rumble of the waterfall as she padded slowly through Pisces, basking in the moisture that hung in the air. She left a trail of pitch-black slime in her wake, occasionally creating an oily sheen on pools of water. Her jaws were opened wide, her gaze glancing and peering at the world around, when a glint of colour caught her eye and lured her forward.
Her long neck arching back over her chest, she walked forward, soft squelching sounds audible as her legs bent beneath her weight. As she drew nearer, she picked out a chrysalis, which hatched before her very eyes into a tiny lamb. The draconian being rumbled a greeting to announce her presence, approaching carefully, and lowering her head towards the ground to meet their gaze. She finally stopped several metres away, taking a long look at the world around her to make sure the young one was alone. Then she closed her jaws, a long rumble trembling in her chest.

She heard sounds behind her, rumbles and squelching. Different sounds than she made, the newborn slowly turned around. The young child had heard some words while in her chrysalis, so she opened her mouth to try and use them. A greeting, err... There had been one word she heard that was said to both talkers, "H-... Ell, hel- hello" she called out. Eyes glued on the odd creature, she squinted at the other animal.
Slime oozed from their body, and it seemed to be spilling everywhere they went. But the lamb shrugged it off as normal behavior, she didn't know much about anyone else. Her hooves clopped against the ground as she stumbled over herself trying to get closer to the slime-being, she realized that her hooves made a different sound when she was walking than when the other being was walking forwards. She looked at her hooves, then their claws. They were pretty different when she thought about it.
Perhaps claws just made that sounds, she didn't have claws and this was the first creature with claws that she'd seen. So why was she looking so deep into it? Was it that she was different from this animal, or perhaps she was just curious. Eager to turn her attention to something else, she looked around at the scenery. Everything was so pretty to the young lamb, even the slime-creature was pretty. The way that the black slime looked as it dripped off of their body, it was almost mesmerizing to her. Eyes glued on the creature, she offered an awkward smile. She would've gone closer if she had known how to use her legs, but she didn't complain. Mostly because she didn't know how to really complain in the first place, but also because she had nothing to complain about. Besides her legs of course.

Equinox breathed out a breath that steamed in the air, sending several small globulets of slime scattering to the ground from her nostrils. She peered at the little one, jaws opened wide, and padded closer, her long neck craned almost to the ground and head hanging at almost eye level of the young one. Her eye peered out, fascinated, from the back of her throat, and she rumbled once again in greeting. A texture like that of a thousand squirming maggots passed momentarily over her skin, an expression of thought. Her head cocked slightly to one side. Finally, the big creature closed her jaws and raised her head up to its usual height, neck coiled so that she could rest her chin comfortably on her chest.
"Hell...o," came her gurgling reply, reverberating from deep within her chest. Her flesh trembled like jelly with the effort. When she was finished speaking, her voice slow and carefully calculated, the draconian opened her jaws again, watching as the youngster staggered closer. Another rush of hot breath filled the cold air around her muzzle with a steamy cloud. Seeing their struggle, Equinox instead, closed the distance herself in a few short strides, padding forward with a fearful grace to her steps, as though frightened she'd hurt the ground beneath her paws. Her head craned down, hanging just out of reach of the small one but peering worriedly at the little lamb. droplets of slime dripped to the ground from her chin.
