Cancer had left his home behind, a sheet of shale rock wedged between his horns and a certain amount of pep in his step. The cat was off on his first real adventure! He would map out the caves as he went. This tunnel, he'd already marked down. Pisces and Tunnel O were were written in runic symbols only he could understand for now- the first written language since Origin Cave's first inhabitants died off... or left... or whatever. He'd made it up of course, but in his head, for whatever reason, each odd shape was unique, meaningful- and he didn't have to think too hard on anything regarding it. Language, written and read, were seemingly engraved in his instinctive memory. It was harder putting it to the stone tablets, but it gave him something to do whenever he broke for a rest.
Now, however, the wide, very humid tunnel he'd entered was his only concern. The familiar wetness comforted him, but the heavy humidity cling to his lengthy pelt posessively. The cat pushed himself along despite the weight on his back and sides, and soon enough, he came to the entrance of Polaris. Yes, this would do. He paused at the familiar blue lighting and panted a moment- despite the warm air here, he could beath easier without the ceiling so close. The wider space gave him fresher air to breath as he slid the tablet off his skull and gently onto the floor. He held it in place with one paw and with his left paw, started adding to his map.
Another few lines as he gazed out at Polaris, making its entrance carefully, noting the pools of water and hunks of crystal with heavy cross-hatching and swirls respectively. He took a moment to mark a softer outline where he remembered the golems and spire to be, and as he worked, his tail twitched with thought. Over the blank space of the cave, he marked its name- Polaris- in those special runes that made words.
