Now this was an interesting place. Piercing purple eyes searched the entire area, studying the moss and ferns that grew in abundance within this particular room. It was greatly different than the room they had emerged from. It even had a different smell. Now that was most likely a good thing. Among the many scents given off from the foliage there was also scents that appealed to the eagle's taste. There was prey here. There was no way there wasn't with the abundance of foliage around. He clicked his beak thoughtfully before turning his gaze down to Tal'at. "Do you...smell anything?" Even still his focus was set upon the little leather-wing. By now it seemed natural to have Tal'at riding along on his chest.

He definitely hoped there would be food here for his little friend. If not, then Zi would be finding a new place to take them too that would hopefully show signs of what Tal'at could eat. For now, though, he waddled even further into the room. His wings stretched out a bit as if to help him balance as the mossy floor was a little more awkward than the stone floors he had previously been traveling. Oh how he could not wait to allow his wings to carry him wherever he may wish to go. All in due time though, for now he just had to be patients. That's all.

It took a long while, and Tal'at's attention drifted. His ability to cling was tested as he snoozed lightly on the bird's chest here and there-- just small batnaps once and a while. When he awoke this time, however, it was to a warm place, filled with the sweet smell of... of... Food! He crawled up his friend, reaching up to the bird's beat and pawed at it, frantic.

"Food is here! I smell it!" He announced, letting go and suddenly twisting, his body naturally finding the way of flight through instinct. He swooped and swerved, gaining height in the air on a gentle warm breeze, and soon he flapped his way up to the top of a tree bearing the source of the delicious scent.

He found it-- the sweet fruit-- a mango, perhaps. He snatched it up and made a perch upside down upon one of the branches, digging into the tasty snack. Juices dripped down from where he ate, gobbling up the mango as quickly as he could. It was so good. He wanted to eat all that this place had to offer.

However, after finishing one, he promptly flew back down to the floor, back to his Heartbeat friend, and let out a series of pleased squeaks. "You did it! You found food. It is tasty. I thank you! I thank you!" With that, he paused, considering.

"Do you want?" He didn't know if his friend could fly-- he felt different than Tal'at. Zi was made of strange, fluffy things. Hmm.

RaikZik smiled, not on the outside, but rather deep down on the inside. Nothing reflected the relief he felt on his features, but he was extremely unaware of his lack of emotions that displayed. He fluttered his wings a bit, watching as Tal'at flew up to the top of the tree and disappeared into the branches. He tilted his head, turning it so he could get a better look and peered through the tree branches. He could only catch glimpses of his leather-winged companion, but that was fine. As long as Tal'at was content to stay up there and eat his fill. Violet eyes danced about, scanning the area they were now in.

His attention was pulled back when Tal'at came swooping down, giving off noises of happiness. Good. The little Leather-winged was happy. When Tal'at offered him the food Zi had to shake his head no, but then it dawned on him Tal'at probably would not see the motion. "No. I....eat...meat" He spoke slowly, still not accustomed to using his voice. It just sounded foreign to him. He turned his gaze back to Tal'at for a brief moment, clicking his beak thoughtfully. Tal'at had flown so easily, so...- would he be able to do so just as easily?

Her looked to his wings before he stretched them out, moving them around to get a feel of them. With confidence, the young bird made his attempt. If he was a normal creature who expressed things, one may have been able to see the joy as he just barely pulled himself from the ground and glided a few paces before his talons were upon the ground again. Good. That was a good first try. He knew there would be no getting food until he learned how to properly fly. So getting a hang of flying would be his first course of action. He shifted, looking towards Tal'at once again. "Must fly...to eat..." He would explain to the leather-winged what he was doing, just so the little thing would not assume he had abandoned him. RaikZik would never abandon anyone, especially not leather-winged. He was already taking up a fine place in Zi's heart. A friend. Zi's first friend. RaikZik clicked his beak again in a thoughtful manner before he made his second attempt to bring himself off the ground.

She didn't mind it here, but she didn't like it. The green made her feel lazy and tired, and the high branches and ledges made her feel frustrated. Once in a while, she'd spot a mouse running by, but it'd outrun her easily. She was not made to run after prey. She was unsure if she was even made to hunt, for that matter.

She had no feathers. Only the black fuzz that covered her tiny body. When she noticed something out of the corner of her eye, something possibly smaller than she was, flying, she was a little mad. She twisted her head around to look to see where it had gone to, but she couldn't see where the tiny creature had gone.

And then she noticed the thing looking at it. Where it flew back to. She knew what that was. It had a beak and wings like her - but it's colours were odd. Brighter. She croaked slightly and kept a distance. This thing could hunt. It's beak, it's talons. This thing was made for hunting, unlike her.

She croaked again. She could eat leftovers. She'd just have to wait, out of sight, for a while.

Meat? Tal'at listened to his feathery friend, considering what he meant. So he couldn't eat the sweet, delicious fruit? That seemed unfair. It was incredibly sweet and delicious and wonderful. He shook his head, settling down into the moist, soft dirt. He listened to his friend click his beak and then heard the telltale ruffle of feathers. He paid attention to the sound, trying to assess what his friend was doing, but RaikZik told him: he was attempting to fly.

"You can fly!" He chattered enthusiastically, "Just keep trying." He continued to nibble away at his fruit, the sweet tang smoothing his taste buds. He licked at his lips, listening to friend try to fly. It was a bit difficult, with the wind rustling, to pay close attention to Zi. Sniffing, he tried to locate his friend's heartbeat with his extra sense-- it would be easier to track him that way if it worked.

... But instead of sensing his friend, he dimly became aware of another creature hiding nearby. Watching. Perhaps it was something his friend could eat-- meat, as RaikZik had told him. Finishing the last of his tasty mango, the oddball bat started to crawl over to the creature nearby. "Who is there?" He asked, his blind face peering towards the black fluffball that he couldn't see.

It took awhile, but eventually RaikZik got the hang of flying. He soared all over the area, making sure to stay close to where Tal'at was though, and peered down below to see what all he would see. Tal'at was where he had left his little leather-winged brother. Movement suddenly drew his attention however and his eyes quickly locked onto it. A mouse. Just a few feet away from tal'at. RaikZik shifted his direction, watching the mouse for a moment.

When he determined how he was going to catch it RaikZik immediately shifted his wings and dove down. Streaking through the air towards the mouse. The closer her got, the more he moved his feet out in front of him, stretching out his dangerous talons ready to grasp onto the thing. Though, when Tal'At's voice rang out, calling out for someone his entire attention was pulled away instantly. He swung his gaze over, just as his talons suddenly dug into the... ground. Purple eyes shifted towards his talons, studying the fact there was no mouse in his talons. Maybe next time.

For now there was other business to deal with. He shifted, hobbling over towards Tal'at and peered around instantly. The feather's along his head ruffling up as he searched. Tal'at must have known someone was around. Though, if they were around and not making themselves present then what was their motives of hiding from them?
