Character theme songs: one of the best ways to get the feel/vibe of a character. It’s also a great way to spur on one’s muse and also a great way to find some great music! It’s one of the most common discussions in the cbox and discord, but I recently found myself wondering why we don’t have anywhere to put these on the main site. So I decided to make a thread for it!

Rules
-For organization’s sake, post your theme songs under your character account!
-Post links and not the videos themselves! We don’t want to create too much clutter.
-Don’t link to a music video if it gets explicit! Try to keep to snippets of lyrics or audio only in these cases.
-Feel free to tag other characters with theme song suggestions! But try to keep these separate from your character’s theme songs.

This song is the embodiment of Blackberry - casually and almost happily talking about murdering someone while also highlighting the darkness inside and the anger that she feels. Also, the silliness of this song is really good for her because she started off as a joke character and is still almost like a walking, murdering joke.

This was mainly for directly after Blackberry's mutation. She was emerging from a hellish state and was going to wreak havoc on the caves.


Wonderland by Caravan Palace

This song applied to young Blackberry, before her mutation. She had dreams of grandeur, of strutting through the caves as the most feared creature and the most powerful of enemies. Now that she's grown, though, she's moved past her childish imagination.

This song is basically who Imperia is. Or...was? They've kinda changed now. But this is the song they were basically based off of. And Aaliyah was, briefly, their partner in crime.

Goes along with Aaliyah as well. Imperia made Aaliyah, named her, took care of her...but she eventually left.

Another shared with Aaliyah, this song follows their life from the point Aaliyah hatched to when they separated, including a bit after.

yet another with Li. almost all of these are shared w Li. Li wants desperately to be away from Imperia, but they'll always still be there, even if they aren't controlling Li anymore.

This is more for when Li was young, and Imperia wanted her to grow up strong and fight/kill alongside them.

Part of Imperia regrets ever giving life to the stone that led to Aaliyah. Perhaps, if they hadn't done that, they would have been able to continue on fighting and killing and collecting a hoard of gems.

Asimona is both the person 'in the eye of storm' and 'the lonely dove' as she's constantly in turmoil with herself but looks to herself, a lonely dragon, for strength. Love is important to her her experiences makes her love even stronger.

My Demons by Starset
The ship is slowly sinking
They think I'm crazy but they don't know the feeling
They're all around me,
Circling like vultures
They wanna break me and wash away my colors

I mean, this is just a literal interpretation of Asimona's hallucinations - they're always with her trying to break her and hate herself. Later in the song, they're calling out for someone to help them - this is both her hallucination of Sister and whoever is there to help her get past this.

She wants to get past her troubles and break through to the good parts of her life. She wants to become better both for herself and for anyone and everyone that she loves.

Envy's style of theme songs has changed so much in the past few cycles. initially their playlist was much darker but due to the people they've met, they've matured a lot and deal with their issues in different ways to what they were originally planned to. They've gone from being 100% a villain to being more of a confused dork with unhealthy coping mechanisms and their songs have become sadder. bless their heart, they're trying so hard to make everyone think they're a good king.

Was just a little thing for when Huckleberry first hatched, being completely crazy and senseless and with little to no personality.

A lot of the lyrics really match up and describe Huckleberry's frustration and uncontrollable nature when they're with their family. How they're doing all of these things to please Blackberry and stay with the family, but on the inside they don't really understand why they're doing them, which eventually leads to their disagreement with the family and their realization that they don't want to kill.

Huckleberry as a child was always out of control, both by themselves and by their family. Nobody really knew what they were gonna do and Huckleberry really hated it. This song is good for getting inside their head; how they're terrified of themselves and how much they hate their inability to control their own thoughts and actions.

I've always imagined this as Thothaga's main theme. It gives off creepy, primal, Baba Yaga-esque vibes, perfect for a morally gray spider witch, no?

I would be flat out lying if I said Thothaga wasn't heavily based on the Triple Goddess.

How could I not add this song for the capricious overgrown spider lady? Once fully grown, she is to approached with caution as although, she can be helpful, Thothaga hates to have her time wasted or might much rather use her visitors as pawns for her own purposes, kind of like the infamous black widow.

This song perfectly captures her Maiden phase. While she feels alienated from the other gembounds by her physicality and way of thinking, the one thing she does understand is magick, it calls to her, as well as the many secrets it holds. As a Maiden, she is on a journey to find herself and to replace naivety with wisdom, usually the hard way. With her strong link to the arcane and a heightened sense of magicka, her goal is to master it so that one day she can "weave" the very elements of the cave, to become a force of nature.

Thothaga may be a giant, scary spider, but when it comes to her sacred Spire and the fate of Origin cave, she will stand by her home and defend its sanctity, no matter the cost.
