QUESTS/EVENTS
Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.
Tunnel K was eerie enough before Bahamut. What with the emptiness, the barrenness, the mist and the chill.
But now it is even worse. There are streaks of dried blood on the ground, as though something had been slaughtered, or dragged, as well as massive bloody pawprints. On the walls are splatters of blood, dried as well, varying in size from barely a teaspoon to gallons. There are deep claw marks on both the ground and the walls.
In front of the entrance to his lair, little more than a crack in the wall, are several pikes made of sharp rocks that stick out of the ground. Only three have anything on them, but those three are enough to spread fear into any Gembounds hearts.
The first one has most of an aardwolf's corpse, partially decomposed and mummified. It lacks its head. The second is merely a head - but not the aardwolf's. It is the head of a dog, colors unable to be made out from the mummification. The rest of the dog sits on the third pike, pierced through the middle.
If someone is brave or, perhaps, foolish enough to entire the lair, they will find it a rather tight fit. The tunnel is covered in dried blood, and widens as you continue on. Beneath your feet, tiny bones will crunch.
Once you reach the end, you will enter into a cave of sorts. It is large, ten feet in height and about twenty in diameter. All along the ground are bits of bone, even entire skeletons, some with flesh still attached. Gems are collected in a pile in the center. There are notches in the walls, where particular trophies are displayed. The walls are marked with claw marks, but these are clearly deliberate. They are counted in tallies, four marks made before being crossed off.
