The young seal pup swam in the waters of Fornax, content as can be. She liked to swim, after all, she did live most of her life under the water anyway. She poked her head out of the water for a little, wanting to see the surface. Tethys decided to then swim to the shore and get some rest as the waves came up to her every now and then, making her sides wet. Though the seal did not care, water was her home. Her eyes were open though, glancing at the waves that came up to her occasionally. Tethys felt sorry for creatures such as birds who could not swim and see the beauty that lay beneath the water. Though she knew not everyone liked water, she was proud she did.

Pubber's journey had brought her to a place of great mosture and heat. The humidity hit the bright pink creature like a wall, but the rushing sound that echoed off the stone encouraged her forward into the main body of Fornax. When she finally reached the cavern, she finally discovered the source of the sound: waterfalls that crashed off of the massive, rounded walls, and the waves of a great vast water that made her feel insignificant and small.

Ears twitching, she crept along the rocky, harsh beach. She made her closer to the waves, but kept her distance. She had never seen such a massive puddle of water. It stretched onward for what looked like forever, with pockets of fog that rolled around the surface. She was afraid if she got too close, the water might snatch her and pull her in, and she didn't know what lurked bellow the waves.

This cavern didn't have much in the way of crystal outcroppings, or even pretty rocks. The only stone she had nearby were the lose pebbles under feet, and as she stood exposed out in the open, she shivered. She was a bright pink speck standing before a behemoth she could not even begin to understand. Her violet gaze just stared out into the water, frozen with apprehension.

Tethys decided to swim some more and splash in the water, until something very bright caught her eye. She surfaced from the water, with her gaze falling on what looked like a pink bear, and pink horns. She noticed the bear looking at the water with fear. Tethys started to feel bad for the bear, so she decided to swim closer so the bear could hear her. "Hello! My name is Tethys, and I'm a sea leopard. I was meant to live in the water. You don't have to be scared! I can teach you how to swim and be brave in the water if you want. Nothing bad will happen." The seal pup looked at the bear, hoping to reassure her. It seemed the bear was older than her, but nonetheless, Tethys was here to help.

From the waves came a creature, unusually smooth and spotted, calling toward her with a bright, friendly voice. Pubber hadn't expected to see someone out in that deep, dark water that surged like a living animal itself. "H-hi!" Pupper squeaked, not quite certain that this wasn't some kind of trap. It seemed a lot safer on the solid ground, near the earth that she understood and could trust.

But Pupper didn't want to be rude or mean. She took a few timid steps toward the water, close enough that the waves lapped up to her feet. She had expected the water to be freezing, like the puddles she had seen in the other parts of the caves, especially where there was ice. Here, however, the water wasn't too cold. It washed up around her paws, soaking her fur, and she raised a paw to shake the water off of it when the wave receeded again.

"Um, I'm Pupper. Are you sure it's safe?" She called back, feeling quite uncertain. She was a lot bigger than Tethys, and if anything were to happen, she didn't know how the seal would be able to help.

Tethys could see that Pubber was uncomfortable with the water. Though there would be no worries, for the sea leopard would help her with this fear. She nodded her head, reassuring Pubber that it was safe. "Of course it's safe! I can see by looking at you that you're part bear! Bears are good at swimming and like water. Let's just start easy. Start by just walking deep into the water, but not all the way. Just stand and get used to it." Tethys thought for a moment to see what Pubber should do after that. "Once you've gotten used to the feeling, try swimming by moving your legs back and forth. Remember to keep you're head above water." Then Tethy s cocked her head curiously to the side. "Are you part polar bear or grizzly bear?" That question would help determine an assumption for the sea leopard.

Pubber was definitely nervous, considering that she was a lot bigger than the seal, and if she were to start drowning, she probably couldn't count on anyone to save her. Still, she inched forward, just enough that the warm water lapped at her underbelly and soaked her bright pink fur. That much she felt safe doing, her long claws curled deep into the sand and her head held high, snorting as the frothy smell of salt made her nose itch.

"Um... My mom is white," she started, her anxiety making her babble out her first thought, even though she knew the answer. "I mean, she's a polar bear. So... I guess I'm a polar bear. Or.. a Pubber bear?" She realized how stupid she sounded as soon as she said it, and could only be grateful that through her thick, vibrant fur no one could tell her skin was flushing with embarrassment. She took a step back, trying not to get shoved over by the incoming tide in the process.
