The extravagant looking pea hen walked in the tunnel on the look for food. She was somewhat hungry, and so decided to go foraging. As she walked her tail feathers were elegantly displayed behind her. The pea hen only opened her feathers like a fan, when she deemed it necessary. Now though, she was bored and simply wanted some food. At least everything was calm and peaceful. She didn't have to worry about anything escalating.

Things were going to escalate.

Presently, Eythan was hot on the tail end of a particularly rowdy tunnel runner. The brute'd been causing a ruckus in the recent day-night cycles, charging at whatever moved and generally just being a nuisance. Lest it came into Canis or started attacking whoever was trying to pass through - such as a peahen - it needed to be dealt with.

So, as the clicking of hooves drew near a certain Lalreothes, the gryphon sprung with claws and teeth bared. He immediately met pulled-taut skin and sunk into sinewy flesh. Hauling himself forwards and dropping onto the tunnel runner's back, he brought it efficiently to its side about ten feet away from the peahen, a shadow in the fog as he clawed and bit at the lesser deer's throat until it breathed its last. The whole altercation didn't last a minute, and the brute was dead.

Eythan gave it a brief shove, groaning as he realized it would be a nightmare to drag back and offer up as food.
