Erzu was busy digging more into her underground home in Canis. Actually, she had multiple underground homes throughout the caves. Having multiple tunnels increased her chances of safety. The more safer she was, the better her chances of surviving. As she dug, her paw hit something. What it was, was beyond her. She dug some more and pulled out a small piece of armor. It was broken and rusty, appearing to be gold in color. It was cracked as if brutally attacked, and obviously old looking. Nonetheless, the aardvark was surprised to have found this. Question was, what was the story behind it?

Erzu placed her paw on the armor, and attempted to use hindsight on it. Her magic worked quite well, as she felt it flow naturally through her body. The aardvark felt a vision appear in her mind, and she paid attention to it clearly. She hoped it was something that held a piece of the caves in it. But, who knew what she would be seeing in her vision...

The ground in Canis was often rock, or gritty piles of stone nearer the pools of stagnant water. For Erzu to find a place to burrow was a little unusual. More unusual still was finding armor here: armor scraps were often found littered through Tunnel J, but Canis was more often home to bones.
Yet, should she dig farther in the dirt, here, she might find two explanations for this oddity. First, the area in which she was digging was soft, loose, compared to the surrounding rock. Yet if she dug more than two feet from a center, the walls were hard and rounded, as though she were digging in an already-existing tunnel. It had been dug out once before, filled in over time with loose dust packed tight, and with the crumbling bones of millennia. The walls of it, oddly, were scored heavily as if it had been dug out by sharp, heavy, massive claws. And second, and perhaps a little more worryingly, this wasn't the only armor down here. Deeper, more scraps filled the dirt-packed space. It might be possible for the little aardvark to dig down for hours, or even days, before finding the ending of this much-larger-creature's burrow... and what might lie beyond.
But for now, the glimmering of magic gave her a vision: four creatures huddled in the dark, and a fifth, lying on its side, panting heavily. Its flanks heaved. All were alien to her, unrecognizable as any species she might know. And all crouched inside a rounded, underground tunnel.
"Are you sure this... work?" asked one, its voice distorted by magic's imperfect memory.
"No." The largest, thick-bodied and massive-clawed, was crouching a little deeper than the rest, facing upward.
"Then why are we bothering-?"
"For a chance. Shut up. You... that." More distortion.
A quieter voice, delicately feminine but rough with bitter necessity. "Just keep getting the pieces. I know it's hard-"
"...-right over the dead bodies. The goop. It won't be long until..."
The voices faded. The image bled away.

After the vision ended, she wondered what the conversation she saw was about. But even more troubling, her gut told her to dig deeper. If she found a piece of armor down here who knew what else she could find if she dug more? It was decided, she would dig more to uncover more of what was down here. The young aardvark decided to dig some more into the tunnel, unsure of what she would find. If she could find that armor, who knew what else was here.

As she dug, the dirt flung back and away, her claws struck not only rock but bone. It was a few feet down--not very deep, but deep enough that whatever else this creature had been, it had been underground.
It was a whole skeleton, should she uncover it, partway down the claw-scored tunnel. It was twisted by the passage of time and the settling of the earth, but most of the bones were intact, should Erzu dig them out, and study them. The skull--thick, elongated bone--was crushed, as were some of the higher vertebrae. Rocks, after death--or something else?
And what else might lay deeper..?

Erzu hit bone, immediately realizing she came across a skeleton. She decided to dig out the skeleton and then see what it looked like. The aardvark dug some more as she started to uncover the skeleton. She wanted to get to the skeleton first before deciding what lay deeper beyond that. It took a while, but finally she uncovered everything to be able to see the skeleton and study it. What she would see though, was very shocking...

Having seen enough of the skeleton. She decided to dig more into the tunnel to see what lay deeper into it. She would use hindisght on all she found in due time. But, she would use hindsight along they way if what she found was really worth it. This skeleton was not exactly worth it. She dug some more into the tunnel, unsure of what lay ahead...

Down here, deeper, darker, Erzu's seeking claws scraped across another tangle of bones. These, though, as she dug away the dirt, she would find to be of different sizes.
The tunnel was a few feet in breadth, so it was possible for a few creatures to hide down here--and it seemed that perhaps they had, or maybe they had died in combat with one another, or had been buried down here alive. Whatever the case, it was a cluster of death buried in the dirt. There were the slender bones of a smaller thing, and the large, heavy bones and even bony claws of something stout and massive--something that had likely been as wide as the cave itself. This one had a thick skull and crushing teeth, and short, heavily-clawed limbs.
These bones clotted the entire passage--assuming what lay beyond wasn't a dead-end in itself.

Apparently the aardvark was finding more and more bones. Though she knew very well there was more than just bones here. She wanted to uncover this previously made tunnel, and all the secrets that lay with it. The aardvark continued to dig some more, keen on discovering all the secrets here. She wondered what new things she would find this time...
