(HIDDEN THIRD OPTION SUGGESTED BY NAVY: the worm off the string is the baby and the dragon is the adult)
This method was okayed by CJ!
COULDNT GET IT TO SHOW UP LESS INTRUSIVELY SORRY
o First Design: A worm like creature. Its feathers are white and fluffy. It is much longer than it is tall, and it moves much like a ferret. Its shape is reminiscent of a crunchy banana. It has a pair of small but useless wings in the front which it walks with, and a pair of very small, almost vestigial legs. The creature may have trouble walking due to its short legs. Excluding its feet and claws, it is entirely feathered. Its eyes are large and vacant. A long beak covered by feathers sits at the front of its face. Within its mouth is multiple rings of small but usuable teeth.
o Second Design: A creature which superficially resembles a dragon of eastern mythologies. Its body, much like the first design, is long and flowing. It is feathered. It has the head of a chicken, with Kalamas fangs and pair of pennant feathers. Much like the first design it has teeth in rows throughout its mouth. Spikes grow along the sides of its body, and it has a row of belly scales like the worms of hydra. Its front legs are wings and its back legs are raptorial talons. Its tail is long and starts with a crown of feathers and ends in a frond of feathers.
Element: Fire
Stone: Diamond

OOC Name: Snail
Which hybrid you want: It'd start as the worm and grow to become a chicken-dragon, except it'd keep those big ol eyes and be a lot fluffier- completely covered in feathers except for the feet/claws, and the spikes being half-hidden in all that fluff- a nasty surprise for potential attackers.
Personality/Writing sample:
(Personality)
Big Death Scary Kalama The Second, often calling itself 'Big death' 'Scary' or 'Second' depending on how they feel, will start out as a sweet, eager to please little child. They'll grow VERY attached to Kalama, doing anything to make her proud. They aren't exactly ignorant of danger, but they believe that their life-giver will help them if they ever get in REALLY BAD trouble, and besides, they wanna do cool things to make her proud! Given Kalama's parenting style, they'll likely grow to be fairly aggressive, trying to pick fights with nearly anything they think they can win against. Not really malicious, though, and wouldn't kill on purpose unless Kalama somehow convinced them too. Killing is about the only thing they are hesitant about doing, otherwise they're a 'do first, think later' kind of gembound.
(Rp example)
Scary fluffed it's many fluffy feathers, looking more like an agitated feather duster than a big scary monster. They WERE a big scary monster though- It was in their name! They stared down their- a long pretty shiny bug sitting on a big rock. They ran after it with what to them was a war cry, what to practically anything else would be a horrible squawk-shriek. The bug skittered away, but they managed to pin it down under a foot, even as it squirmed and tried to wiggle away. Brimming with pride, They looked around, "Kalmama! Mama! Look! I did a big scary!" They called, looking around for their life-giver.

OOC Name: Lizz!
Which hybrid you want: Option three, typical design for both. Lumpy worm as a baby and elegant chicken-dragon as a lad.
Personality/Writing sample:
A nervous lump formed in their throat.
Where were they? Death wasn't sure. This new cave was horribly unfamiliar and everything their mother warned against. A strong wind bit harshly against their face, spraying sediment everywhere in their eyes and mouth. The ceiling was high, way too high, and felt horribly exposing to whatever hidden eyes where up there. When they looked around, all they saw were brown rocks and oh-so-many places for hidden traps that they definitely didn't want to encounter. Their little clawed feet braced themselves in the dirt. Even the dirt felt wrong, too gritty and moist for their liking.
But worst of all? There were strangers.
They couldn't smell them, of course, but there were signs of inhabitance all around them. Broken twigs. Torn leaves. The eaten carcass of a lesser. Faint pawprints. With every new thing Death noticed, their anxiety rose higher, contorting their wormy body into a worried mess. This was too much. Too too much. Tears threatened the edges of her eyes as a low whine escaped their beak. They weren't supposed to leave Mother's side. If they simply never acted on their curiosity, Mother would be here. Mother would protect them. But they were a bad child, and now they were utterly alone.
A rustle from a nearby bush. Their heart nearly leapt up their throat as the dragon squirmed into a defensive ball, sharp features creased in absolute fear. "H-h-hello?" they cried out after a few nerve-wracking moments. "Don't e-eat me, I'm dangerous!"

SUBMISSION FROM VOID THROUGH DISC!
Holy shit worm baby
OOC Name: North
Which hybrid you want: W O R M. Just have them get taller as an adult so they can work those legs a bit better <3.
Personality/Writing sample: Down below :)
Child Name: Kalaziel (a.k.a Big Scary Death Kalama II)
Gender: AMAB (Non-Binary)
Species: Ice Worm/Brahma chicken hybrid!
Appearance:
A worm like creature.
Personality:
Bold: With a name that translates to angel who has the power to thwart demons of disease, it’s no wonder that Kalaziel emerged from their chrysalis ready to take on the world. Some of this willingness to prove themselves comes from their life-giver, who’s just as fiery. Kalaziel will often act first, think later, and jump into situations. It’s one of their most prominent traits, that comes out frequently. Looking for trouble? Oh no. They’re asking for it.
Approachable: Kalaziel attempts to keep themselves open to others in case they take on something a little bit too much for them to handle. Having some close friends around is always good. They try not to seem too standoff-ish when they meet someone new, preferring to be welcoming and accepting. Keeping themselves approachable is better in the long run to making more friends and not a lot of enemies (although they could easily end up with both).
Needy: One of Kalaziel’s major flaws is the fact that they are quite needy. They do not prefer being alone for long and often likes to be the center of attention in their group. If there is a time where they need help, they can never seem to get enough of it when something goes wrong. They’ll often need to be in proximity to someone else (normally a close friend).
Ambitious: Kalaziel likes to get things done. They strive to fulfil their goals in any way possible, taking the roads needed to do it. Achievement is important to this worm, no matter the challenge ahead. They can often get upset if some progress hasn’t been made in a while.
Idealistic: Bouncing off of their ambition, Kalaziel is fairly idealistic. They see the world as something which has yet to be perfected. Only through their goals being achieved can their world be truly perfect. Some might consider them out of touch with reality due to how this drives them goal wise. They believe that striving for perfection will make their world come to life.
Roleplay Sample 1:
Warmth. Engulfing, consuming, ever present. The creature stirred from it’s long slumber, opening it’s eyes for the first time, surrounded by it’s shimmering white casing. The creature was getting used to it’s surroundings, wiggling what little appendages it had. Finding use of it’s back legs, the creature gave a large kick. The casing surrounding it did not budge. It would try again, preparing it’s tiny legs to kick once more. A small cracking sound erupted from the casing. The creature wriggled in joy. Once more should lead it to freedom. It prepped for the final kick, pushing itself closer to the now cracked casing. The final kick caused the casing to give way, the creature tumbling out with a high pitched screech of surprise. It was cold out here. Nothing like the comfort of the casing. The creature struggled for a moment to orient itself, taking in this new big world. It’s eyes landed on a large brown mass in the distance. It attempted to make it’s way towards the mass, balance not a strongsuit. It took the little one quite some time to make it’s way across the ground, trying hard not to fall over as it did. Luckily, it’s furry body was enough to keep from hurting too bad when it took a tumble. This mass was warm, just like the casing had been. The creature let out a happy little chirp before attempting to snuggle into the mass. This would do for now.
Roleplay Sample 2:
The cycles had flown by as the creature grew. They were 2 cycles old now and had a name, a place, a mission. Kalaziel, child of Kalama. Momma had taught them so much in this short span of time. Kalaziel worked their way over to a pile of rocks set up in the corner of what could only be considered their den. This was the place where Kalaziel had grown up, taking minimal trips into what they called ‘The Great Out There’. They approached the stones, trying to size them up with their tiny body. They let out a squawk in a way of attempting to challenge the minerals, their tail wiggling a hundred miles a minute.
“You can’t scare me! I’m going to get you!” they said, jumping towards the rocks. Unfortunately, the rocks began to tumble in the direction of the young gembound. They tried to leap out of the way unsuccessfully. One of the rocks bumped the young gembound on the head, disorienting them for a few seconds.
“Aww. They beat me.” Kalaziel pouted. They circled the stones for a moment, setting them back up in the position they had found them.
“Don’t you worry. I’m going to become even stronger! Then I’ll be able to take you down!” They cheered. Now it was back to Momma to tell her all about their fight! They hoped that she would be proud of them.

(This post was last modified: May 23 2020, 04:31 PM by Scarborough.)
OOC Name: Rae
Which hybrid you want: I do like the thought of a tiny banana worm becoming the big bad kid on the block.
Name: Keahi, meaning "the fire" from Hawaiian ke, a definite article, and ahi "fire" Source
Genderless
Personality/Writing sample:
Fledgling Cycles:
The child from the outset has a love for shiny things and if it glitters it’s theirs, with no chance of arguing that it is not. One could, but the torrent of angry shrieking, coupled with the blasting heat emitted from them could make one think otherwise. If that doesn’t work there’s alway a plaintive wail for their lifegiver to come to their aid.
They are small and they know it. More often than not they are found by Kalama’s side. To them their life giver can do no wrong and will eagerly butt in if anything is said otherwise. Will eagerly get into a fight to defend her honor. They might be small but that doesn’t mean they can’t take on everyone in the caves. What did you think that they were hanging out with mom because they were frightened? No, that was for her sake.
No one messes with mom, ever.
Curiosity does get the better of them at times, get past the hissing, shiny coveting, fighter and the child has questions. Millions of them. They want to know what these bones are? Where did all the sand come from? What are Kalama’s favorite battle stories? Why?
Their need to know and the thrill seeking aspect of their brain will certainly cause them some trouble.
Roleplay Sample
Rolled: 3,18
There it was! They had spotted the multicolored stone up on the ledge above them, far above them with the perspective of their worm like body. So far they had kept to their own devices on the ground with Kalama not far behind, but this was a shiny it deserved to go above and beyond for. Maybe, Kalama would like it as well or at least the story of how they conquered this ledge. It would be a story for the ages!
Tensing, they planted their feet, eyed a particular spot in the ledge that had enough claw holds for them to securely make their way up. Body arched like a cat they flung themselves forward, limbs akimbo, hoping to snag the outcropping....!
Jumping face first into rock did not feel all that great, nor the subsequent landing on their back, knocking the breath out of their lungs. Dazed it took them a moment to regain their senses and flop back over to their side.
When they no longer felt that the room was spinning they hauled themselves upright to try again. This time pacing around the based of the ledge trying to find a better spot. Apparently this ledge had it out for them, but no matter they were Keahi this ledge would fall to their might just like any other foe. As long as it didn't fall on them.
Finding a suitable set of claw holds once more they tried again. This time managing to gain footing against the side on the ledge. Slowly, but surely they made their way up, testing claw holds before putting any weight on it. When they finally made it to the top their limbs were burn with the effort.
Ha! They had done it. Curling around the gemstone they settled in for a short rest. Conquering the ledge had taken a lot out of the noodle chicken. They would have to tackle getting down next but that was a problem for future them.
Sleep first.
