MAGICKA LEVEL 98%
RESTORED TO 100%
One child down.
As in--created. Finished. At least, he hoped as much. The creatures in Cetus held a distinct touch of the Creator's influence, and the new Master thought it a fitting tribute to create a beast from their line. He wasn't sure how it'd come out, but he held high hopes. He'd left that chrysalis hidden beneath a layer of thick black mud and reeds in Cetus.
That, and this next creation, were both to be created in the new manner: blind, chance-based fusing of form and magic. He wasn't sure how it would turn out, but he held curiosity in him.
One six-thumbed hand raised a chunk of oily rock to his gaze. This one he'd taken from Jupiter's den. Normally, Vargas would dismiss the stones of the dead as failures--unworthy of a second chance, most likely. But to die to a Master did not brook much judgement--and the fact that a traitor had killed them implied all the more that this had been a strong and loyal servant. Jupiter would not have bothered with it otherwise, at least that's what he hoped.
He held it tight in his fist, then, staring intently at it.
Master Vargas would impart blind life to this one, and then turn his attention to... grander plans.
He could feel the magic spread, but something about it felt... wrong, for a second. He wondered at this, but then shrugged it off. Surely he, a new Master, would not have ruined such a simple piece of magic. Surely it would come out just fine...

Vargas set that stone aside, leaving it to spread and grow--he hoped--to take root in the rock at one side of the tunnel. Now for the fun part.
Vargas, as a Master, had the capability to design his own offspring from scratch. From scratch-! And the excitement was gnawing at him. He'd been thinking of this day, planning, for some time; and he had some ideas to work with.
He had debated, for a time, whether to go understated: elegant, subtle and deadly; or to make his statement with a grand and over-the top dramatic entrance into the 'create-a-monster' scene. Eventually, taken by his own enthusiasm, he'd decided to not hold back.
Vargas, therefore, had a list of things to add into this creation--if only a rudimentary understanding of how to actually implement it, and form the creation his way. He slipped a piece of his stone, wincing as it fell away--then took it up in his hand, holding it to the light.
Okay. You must be large, and swift, in order to prove deadly in combat. Armored, but not too armored; you must be flexible, too. Long limbs, long body, broad, strong. A long tail, for balance; quills, spines, for protection. Wings, of course-! For Vargas still wanted to create dragons, really. He'd already decided on multiple heads, too--in case one got removed; he hoped a second would provide a... a backup-head. That it would stay alive, and not just argue with itself over its own movements and decisions. Extra limbs, too-!
He'd give it... let's see. Strong, gripping hind legs. Very long, taloned, spined arms for killing!
...A SECOND set of arms, (Vargas decided, in a moment of mad scientist inspiration) for gripping and clinging!
A spined tail!
Dog noses--dogs and wolves had great senses of smell, right?
Cat whiskers! These were the creatures of the modern generation that brought some good points--canines and felines--and he'd incorporate this.
Venom would be important, yes--toxins...
...which could be delivered with rows of razor-sharp teeth.
Oh! Camouflage... Vargas made a mental note, here. The hide would shift, changing color with the environment...
With the design at last in his mind, Master Vargas, the Leviathan, entirely confident that this creation would be fantastic and powerful and deadly and impressive, began to weave it into reality with touches of his magic, here and there.
He then set this stone some distance from the other--to give it room to grow, of course--and eyed them both with eagerness.
He could not wait to see what emerged from each.
exit and stuff
