Lalreothes was busy admiring her looks and glory in Pisces. Her train of tail feathers dragged behind her. The peacock was a beauty all right. She was busy preening and grooming herself. Constant grooming was a must for this bird. She must never be anything less than perfect. Once the peacock was done grooming herself, she stretched her wings. Lalreothes was proud to be a bird of such beauty. It seemed quiet in the caves at the time. So she had nothing to worry about. But, just because there was peace, did not mean all gembounds were good beings.

Zelarstrox was still hungry. She had one stone in her possession from her last meal. Apparently tree kangaroos were slow moving creatures. But something caught her eye. Something mouthwatering. She spotted another potential meal in her sights. It was a beautiful bird with some good meat on it. She bared her fangs, licking them with intent. She ran toward the bird and aimed her jaws for the bird's neck. The wolverine loved meat, but birds were considered the best kind of prey there was. Zelarstrox was able to get a hold on the bird's back, but couldn't get a killing blow to the neck.

Lalreothes was frantic and scared. She got free of the powerful hold this creature had on her. But she was bleeding on her back. But she was more worried about her looks being scarred. She faced her attacker spreading her wings wide in intimidation. She also spread her tail feathers too. Lalreothes spoke with great malice. "Why do you attack me?! What have I done to you?! You better leave me in peace before I use my beak to put you away like the mutt you are!"

Zelarstrox smiled as she licked the bird's blood from her muzzle. She spoke with malice. "I'm not attacking you because you have done something. No, not at all. I'm coming for you simply because you are a prey item. There two types of gembounds. Predator gembounds and prey gembounds. It isn't wrong for us predators to hunt prey, including fellow greater gembounds. I hunt to survive, and there is no issue with that. Predators are superior." Zelarstrox aimed her jaws for the bird's vulnerable neck and got a hold. She exerted her full powerful jaw force on the bird's neck, holding it down on the floor. Wolverines had a powerful jaw force, which can do a great deal. She pinned the bird on the floor as she crushed the bird's neck, killing it.

Lalreothes was pinned to the ground as she flailed for dear life, unable to fight back. She couldn't breathe. Everything was going dark. Lalreothes flailed her wings and thrashed about. The peacock couldn't talk either. She moved about helplessly, but knew it was futile. She stopped moving. Her vision went dark, and she went unconscious. She breathed one final painful breath and died. Lalreothes's beauty would no longer remain. The only thing of her beauty that would remain, was her gemstone.

Zelarstrox smiled as she dropped the bird's lifeless body to the floor. She licked her muzzle, then began to eat the bird hungrily. The meat tasted ever so delicate and juicy. Zelarstrox knew she was the a bold gembound with the guts to hunt and eat other gembounds. She saw nothing wrong with it. She was a predator, and survived by catching and eating prey. As she ate, she savored the taste on her tongue. She ripped the stone from the bird's body, and ate the rest of her meal. Once she finished, she took the stone and went to find her next target.
