Sheng had decided, after everyone had collectively agreed their arms hurt, they needed a better way of doing this.

he was unaware of anybody to ask, really, so he.. wandered around eridanus, brainstorming and also semi-thinking of people he had faintly spoken to. maybe that angela girl? he didnt know her very well but she seemed like the type to know how to do things, kinda. she fell out of a tree but hey, thats something too!

She was sitting in the forest, not far from where Attikias lived, a small bit of material in her lap. She had grown much since Sheng had last encountered her, about five feet tall and almost fully grown into her form. White hair tied back with a small handmade band as she looked down at her work, a thin, sharp bone in her hands, weaving in and out of the fabric, makeshift thread sewing two pieces of hide together. Attikias had shown her how to do it - she wasn't so good at it yet, but she was working on making her own clothes now. What her father had made for her was growing too small now and she'd rather not cover herself in leafy plants or ill-fitting scraps.

The movement ahead scared her, though, and she flinched, looking up. Her wings, which had been lazily pooled behind her, rose, as if she were about to jump and fly away, but she paused as a creature stepped into her sights. She paused and tilted her head. "Oh," she said, softly. "It's you. Hello, I remember you, a little bit."

he paused, looking to angela, smiling. "ah, hello! yes, i remember you a little bit too! you fell out of a tree near me once!" he said, chuckling.

he cleared his throat, before speaking again. "just- straight to the point, i uh- i was actually looking for you, sort of. kinda. i thought about looking for you?" he hissed. "maybe. just-" he sighed, breathing before talking again. actually speaking to people he hadn't seen in a while was hard. he was better at consistent conversation.

"d-do you know anything about.. yknow.. home.. making? o-odd question, of course, ive started a group of sorts, i think? and hitting holes in the wall is extremely tiring after a while, not a very easy method of making homes." he honked nervously, looking at her with anxious eyes.

She was a little put off by the creature's awkwardness, holding the fabric on her lap tightly, wings shifting behind her. He had been looking for her? Why would he need her? She wasn't sure that, really, anyone needed her. This wasn't really a problem - she needed herself, but she wasn't sure that she had any knowledge or skills worth needing.

But she understood. He needed her for what her father could do. Attikias knew how to build houses and make clothes and tan hides. She knew the basics and fundamentals, but with him so busy, she doubted that Sheng would get anything better then her. "I know a little bit? I haven't really done it myself but my dad lives in a house." Well, house was generous - it was really just a little hut, but she had spent enough time curiously examining it that she felt like she might be able to replicate its design.

Her tail moved along the ground as she leaned forward a bit. "Do you...want me to make you a house? I could try but...I don't know how good it'll come out."

"Oh!" oh heavens no" he said "i just- i was hoping you could teach me, really" he honked.

"i want to make sure my new friends are comfortable, but right now none of us know any more than myself, and, frankly, i dont know anything about it. if i could do it myself, that would be all fine. o-of course if you wanted to come and help you are welcome to! im not saying you cant, just- i dont want to cause any more trouble than its worth, you know?" he asked, assuming she was following his train of thought.

The smallest sliver of a smile turned the edges of her lips at the beast's stuttering and confusion. He was kind of funny. While it was a bit of a painful thought that she would step into a whole new social scenario, with new people that she didn't know, in a new place, to help them with something she barely knew how to do herself, it was also an exciting thought. To try new things, get away from the fairly boring life she'd been leading up to this point. She wasn't sure how she felt about if she had to leave Eridanus, she had never in her life left the cave before, but if she did...maybe she could make herself do it? Have an adventure!

Scary thoughts.

"Um...I mean, sure, I could help. Where are your friends, are they close by?" She looked around, as if she'd see other creatures through the trees. "And it's okay, I'm not really busy. Just...practicing." She held up the fabric for Sheng to see, some tanned hide that Attikias had made for her.

He seemed to smile aswell, relieved. "a-ah, yes! t-they are also in eridanus, i don't leave here much enough anyways to set up anything anywhere else" he chuckled.

he looked at her 'practice', tilting his head. "oo, that is very nice! y-you seem to already have good amounts of talent! i-im sure you'll do great, of course! i mean, if we all work together, it should be easier? as a team, things usually are. i-i mean, i could guess, i've never been part of a team before this. b-but hey, new experiences across the board" he chuckled.

That was a relief, then - there was enough pressure to walk into a new circle of people and learn names and figure out her place in a group of strangers, much less straight up leaving Eridanus to live elsewhere. She'd still be closeby, in case anything happened or she ever wanted to go home. "Okay, that's nice then. I don't know if I'm ready to leave the cave. I can come with you and help, if you want." She wasn't sure what her help would be worth, but she could always do her best.

She blushed a little. "It's...not much, my dad made the fabric, I'm just practicing sewing it. I think it would be cool to...make things, you know? I have hands and not many others do." She lifted her hands, spreading each delicate finger. "I guess I'd like to do what I can with them." She realized that she was going off on a bit of a tangent and hurridly put her hands back in her lap. "A-anyways, yeah. Team effort. It'll be fun."

he smiled. "that would be great! we arent too far away, its only a walks away!" he cheered."

he listened, and smiled wider. "yes! making things is very fun, especially out of other things, though.. i suppose theres not a wide way of other ways to do it than that! haha!" he laughed "i have hands too! people have told me its odd, so now i seem to understand why, are they really not that common? i digress!" he honked "yes! it'll be fun! fun is very good, i havent had much of it in a while, it feels great!" he honked.

"well, shall we go?" he hissed

She paused. Right now? That was a lot more sudden then she thought, but she supposed it made sense. It wasn't like they were planning this for next cycle or something - they needed homes now. She quickly gathered up her fabric and stood, wings pulling up to fold against her back. "Y-yeah just...give me a moment, okay? I'm gonna...go get some things and tell my dad where I'm going. I'll be right back." She turned and sprinted off back towards where Attikias's hut was, to get her few belongings and give her father a kiss goodbye.

She returned a few moments later clutching a small, hand-made pack against her chest. "I've just...got some things in here that I want to bring with me. Anyways, lead the way."
