It burns..

The trickle of running water seeped in and out of her consciousness like a pesky mosquito; plip, plop. The sound was foreign and strange, stimulating shreds of curiosity before the thought and all regard were swept away again and again. The cycle continued, the sound getting quieter and quieter as the barely-awakened gembound struggled to grasp a reality she had yet to know; the perpetual throbbing in the center of her forehead growing more and more inexcusable as new scents and sounds slowly began to flood and animate her senses.

Plip, plop, plip, plop.

There was something wrong. The cub's eyes rolled in their sockets, thick lashes vibrating indecisively as she struggled to open her eyelids. Pain seized and stifled her efforts almost immediately, an ear limply tilted towards the sound of the droplets; an alternative focus to the excruciating pain the small movement had caused. She could smell it. Not quite sure what it was, she was instinctively alerted of the tangy, metal taste in her mouth and the undeniable notion that it was her own. In an instant her body hurt - the small cuts and deep lacerations visibly caused by the glittering fragments of her stone chrysalis - laying scattered around her body where it had fallen and inevitably shattered upon impact. She had been unconscious for a while, the state and stiff texture to her wounds and the dried, sticky blood painted around her eyes and mouth were a good enough indication of that - but if she couldn't see, what was she going to do?

Biting back Nausea the Felid fought to lift her head, ears shakily rolling to stationary points as she blindly turned her chin this way and that. She could hear the river now but nothing else distinctive; somehow nothing had found her yet, though she couldn't quite come to a comfortable decision of whether or not that was a good thing. There had to be something she could do, but the thrum of the running water left her stomach in knots; only the now-familiar drips of the water funnels providing enough comfort for her to come to a solution. She opened her mouth and cried once, twice.

Plip, plop, plip, plop.

Her ears spun forward, paw pads resting firmly beneath her bruised chest as she struggled to listen - the extra exertion causing the nearly-dull pain in her skull to increasingly develop, though she couldn't pull her attention away; she needed to focus.

A heartbeat raced, panicked and uneasy. Blood filled the room and her sensitive nose had caught it only moments ago. Something, or someone, was hurt. She had been back to Polaris to clear her mind and ease her thoughts. Studying and watching the Golem's had always seemed to ease her, regardless on how dangerous it was to be here and this close to the damn. Paws moved slowly over the area, itching to be running along the riverside to carry her much quicker toward the scent. However, she knew, deep down she knew she should not less she bring the attention of the golem's to her. Even now several lumbered around the area, walking aimlessly in circles as if they had no purpose. Brainless. Heterochromia eyes searched all over, seeking the one that was injured.

She struggled with herself, eager to use her magic to find this thing much quicker with her magic, but there were so many golems around. Yet, if she did not find this gembound before the golems noticed them, then she would have been unsuccessful. Holding her breath, Arkrael finally decided to attempt her spell. However, nothing came but the absolute silence of her gem. A rush of air escaped her and she hurried on just a little more. It wasn't until she suddenly heard the cries of a creature did Arkrael seem to forget the dangers. Paws moved into action, racing along the ground as she rushed towards the sound very intent on getting to this creature.

Her heart raced within her chest, drumming loudly in her ears. Within moments Arkrael was suddenly upon the creature. A small feline curled up into herself sitting in a mess of splintered shards and that of her own blood. Her ears pinned back as she observed the situation. "Little one..." She cooed to it gently all the while she searched the kitten over to make sure she was not direly injured. As it seemed, the shards she was laying in must have caused the injuries. Quickly, for just a moment, she lifted her gaze to watch as a golem seemed to draw near, before it pivoted and grated along itself as it changed direction. She let out a quiet sigh, leaving herself crouched down before the feline. "Little one, can you move?" She didn't want to sound urgent, didn't want to frighten the newborn Gembound, but this place was not safe. Not so close to the damn. She would have to get the feline away, further down the river before she could fully check to make sure her wounds were not severe.
