It all began with a crack that shattered the comfortable silence enveloping Snow, filling his mind with an echoing voice that told the pup to move and live. The earlier sense of weightlessness was gone and the white paws came in contact with something soft but wet, forcing the wolf to carry his own weight. Snow’s still wobbly legs weren’t ready for that and as a result he fell down on his stomach. Wet, cold...it was unpleasant.

Finally the pup forced his eyes open and spent a good while blinking in order to make some sense of the scenery he was seeing for the very first time, laying there unmoving and silent. The picture became clear, or at least as clear as it could in the mist, and Snow’s curiosity kicked in. Where was this? What was that? What was this smell? He had so many questions and he wanted to go touch everything he could reach!

Taking his first unsteady steps on the soft moss, not caring about his now dirty underbelly, the white wolf began exploring the area. Slowly but surely he started to get used to walking. Feeling more confident about his own capabilities, the pup even attempted to speed up, run, alas his balance was still lacking. Several times did he go tumbling down, only to get back up a moment later and do it all over again.

Every plant and tree that he came across drew his attention. Everything was new and amazing, but little did he know about the true dangers of these caves. For now he continued to explore, ignorant about the threats lurking in the shadows. He would most likely learn to fear them the hard way.

Exploring. The bear had done much of that, walking and eating and sleeping and walking... but not much meeting. So when Tema heard a creature crashing and running and crashing some more, she was more than happy to come bouncing towards the sound without much thought.

She slowed as she saw the creature causing the racket, smiling at how excited they seemed to be. It reminded her of her hatching days, though she hadn't been as bouncy as they were... Perhaps they had just needed to stretch their legs after being released from their chrysalis?

She shook her head to clear her head before calling out. "Little white-fur! What fun are you having?" Her voice was loud and booming, just the blessing of her species, which left her nothing but hope that the little white furred Gembound wouldn't be scared. She was a fair bit larger than them though, so Tema supposed she wouldn't blame the poor thing if they ran off.

A voice called out to them, not the same one that Snow had heard in his mind before, no. This was coming from the outside and the source of it was in fact another Gembound. Like him! But larger and more brown, a creature with big paws and round ears. Whatever the pup had been running towards seemed less interesting by the minute, but how should he greet this stranger? With his right front paw up the white ball of fur stared at the bear, nose twitching from all the sniffing he was doing.

Eventually his curiosity won and Snow took a couple small steps closer to the larger Gembound, his tail wagging behind his back. ”H-hello!” The pup greets with a shaky voice, the sound of it startling the ball of white fur a little bit. It was the first time hearing his own voice, after all. It would take some time to get used to. But oon he wouldn’t even notice it and words would come out of his mouth with ease, the longer he existed the clearer everything got. As if he knew some things already without even realising it, but the knowledge was stuck somewhere in the depths of his own mind.

”Oh! I’m exploring! There’s so much green. The white air is making seeing everything difficult though, can we blow it away?” The wolf ponders out loud and decides to test his theory before the bear has a chance to reply. Huffing and puffing Snow tried his best to blow the mist away, but all he managed to do was get himself out of breath. Panting with his little pink tongue sticking out, the pup seemed to give up. ”I-it doesn’t...go away...” The young Gembound sounded somewhat disappointed, but not for long because he had found company! Or- the company had found him, yes, that was it.

”Um- I think that my name is Snow? What’s yours?”

Visibly relaxing as the little white canine turned to face and speak with her, the bear opened her jaws to speak only to have the pup run off on some other tangent before finally giving his name. Albeit it a pinch annoying, her small eyes seemed to light up the more she looked at the young Gembound. It was... sweet. His innocence, that is.

"The white in the air is called... mist. Yes, that's right. It's when water from the ground gets stuck in the air, or something of that sort. It makes my fur sticky!" She chuckled. "There are other places though. Great places for adventuring with very little white so you can see farther. Farther even than me I would bet with eyes like yours!"

She ducked her head low to see the pup better before nodding, agreeing with the statement now that she could clearly see his bright eyes. So full of wonder...

"My name is Tema." She added with a smile as she backed out of Snow's face, finally taking the time to look around her. She'd run pretty blindly after the pup so it seemed like a good idea to try and memorize the are they were in as best she could.

Is he... alone? The thought hit Tema suddenly as she remembered just how lucky she was to have been born with a stone-kin. She had learned early on just how beautiful and rare that was, to not be alone when waking. It seemed the pup gave no mind to this however, because he had never known anything different.

In awe the white pup stared at the older Gembound thinking that she must be very knowledgeable about these caves! It only showed how little he knew about life in general, right now even the smallest of things felt impressive and amazing but with time those same things would hopefully begin to feel...normal, the usual if you will.

”Mist...” Snow repeats the word, looking around them at the endless white. Learning new things was just so exciting! ”Oh! Have you been to many places before!? I’d....I’d like to go too, I just have no idea where to even begin with.” The little male wanted to do everything at once, the faster the better. Patience wasn’t his strongest trait, Snow was too hasty to begin his adventures but perhaps someone would be there to tell him to stop and take a breath, think before he acted.

”Okay Tema! I’ll remember that name, I promise.” The wolf replies with enthusiasm, chuckling a little bit as his excitement grows. With a little tilt of his head Snow wonders what Tema was up to and tries to look around as well, had she lost something maybe? ”Um, is something missing? You look like you are trying to find something.”

Tema couldn't help but chuckle at the pup's excited tone, starting to feel rather energetic and uplifted as the conversation went on. She wondered if this is what Sunny felt when she first mentioned wanting to be a mother.

"I've been to a few, but I stick close to where I know my friends like to be incase they need me. I can only be in one place after all!" She chuckled, sitting now that the pup had stopped running about. "How about you follow your nose for your first adventure?" She offered after a short pause, remembering how her nose led her to a tasty fish and the kind wolf Comet. That thought led to the bear wondering if the little one would grow to be anything like her and... oh, where was she again?

"Sorry little Snow, I just noticed you were wandering alone. I forgot that family often comes later for gifted lives... I guess I was lucky in that sense." She spoke mostly to herself for this, marveling in how lovely it was to know she had someone and saddened by the knowledge that some simply didn't know they were missing it. She knew the pup wouldn't get her strange way of explaining the things around her, but Tema spent more time in her head than in the caves so truly not much more could be expected of her in conversation. Maybe the pup would figure it out in time... if they stayed in touch, she supposed.
